Ludwig's Biergarten

Came for the trivia and it was a great time! The patio is warm and lively, and the staff are great at coming by to check in and take more orders throughout the evening.- Sausage bites, 5/5: Piping hot springy sausage that was super flavorful (I think it was filled with cheese?) and wrapped in flakey pastry -- basically an elevated pig in a blanket, easy hit!- Jaeger fries, 3/5: The fries themselves are solid, but the whole dish gets soggy really quick from the mushroom gravy, the cheese was served already solidified into one mass, and the dish overall was a bit too salty. Definitely a flavorful dish, but I'll stick with some plain fries next time.

I love Ludwig's!Like many locals, our hearts were broken when Bierhaus closed a few years back. And I'm so thrilled Ludwig's moved in. The patio is great, the new decor inside is cozy, and the beer and food options are great! Jaegerfries and schnitzel are sooooo yummy! My friends who were visiting out of town said "this is the best German food I've ever had in the states." Highly recommend!Plus beertender/server Lizzie is great!

$22 for a burger on a BURNT bun (both sides both buns - like charcoal)! Here's a tip: Well done meant the burger not the bun. Can't imagine they'd have served it to us that way if it wasn't a takeout order. Meh, they probably would have but we'd have sent it back. Speaking of "back", we won't be.

Came here for a last lunch with a colleague who was leaving. They had a very nice cozy outdoor seating. The service was super friendly and on point.The food to me was just ok. I had a bit of the pretzel, jager fries, and spazel(cheese balls). The pretzel was good, but the fries were a bit too salty. I used the berry mayo that came worth the cheese balls to balance the flavor. My colleagues each got something different, one said the turkey sandwich lacked flavor, while the buffalo chicken Sandwich was a bit dry. The salads I heard were good. The agreement was although the food was decent the price was a bit steep.

While visiting Mountain View yesterday for the German Holiday Market, my friend and I stopped into Ludwig's Biergarten for a late lunch. It's was packed inside but we were lucky and a table was available.I got a vegetable soup (already have eaten some snacks at the market) which had pancake strips in it. Quite novel and the soup was tasty, light & hot! My friend enjoyed the Jaeger Schnitzel, veal breaded and fried. Both our food choices were delicious. We celebrated some good news by sharing a dessert platter. I liked the mini beignets and apple strudel with whipped cream!I'd like to give a shout out to the wait staff at Ludwig's because the restaurant was mobbed by couples, families with kids and groups of people indoors and outside. The staff handled all the demands with GRACE and worked non-stop ferrying dishes from the kitchen counter to tables, delivered steins of beer, refilled water glasses and cleaned up the mess of dishes on tables. Great spot for some beers and food before a movie, concert or event. Loved the outdoor patio space! Service is honestly a bit slow. We had to seat ourselves and order via a QR code. We enjoyed our drinks! I wasn't feeling beer this night, so I opted for one of their specialty cocktails that I enjoyed.Now about the food. I definitely had better German food. The goulash while pretty, arrived basically room temperature. The meat was good, but not as robust in flavor as it appears. Loved the potato croquettes texture, but flavor was lacking and got boring to eat. Would definitely recommend maybe their smaller dishes over full entrees here. The curry wurst was much more enjoyable. Would definitely still give this spot another shot!

Amazing restaurant. Incredible owner. Everyone is so kind and hospitable. The food is absolutely delicious.I actually came here as a vendor doing trivia for this location. This is one of my favorites. They were so kind and hospitable. They helped me with everything I needed to make my time go very smoothly. They were so accommodating. I had the salmon pancakes, so I think they're called. They were so delicious and flavorful. Absolutely beautifully presented. There was a group party happening at the time that I went. This was for a private Christmas party. They were having so much fun. The weight staff was incredibly friendly and available. Highly recommend for dining and group events alike.

I loved the outdoor seating and it seems like there is more outdoor seating than indoor seating. The group I went with had some people who are vegetarian so they have great options for them. Our waitresses were very nice and overall a decent experience. We also had the pretzel, but that is not pictured but I think that was my favorite part. Would love to go again for Happy Hour.

My friends and I went for Wednesday trivia nights and it was so fun! The trivia lasts an hour or so, and the host and servers are so friendly. The overall vibes of the place are cute. I'm not much of a beer person but my friends liked the beer here. We got the veal schnitzel, mashed potatoes, and raspberry dessert. I would 100% come back for the dessert alone- it was super refreshing and creamy at the same time. The schnitzel was pretty good and the mashed potatoes were standard. If you love trivia, come on Wednesdays!!
