As locals and food enthusiasts, we're excited to have a new restaurant in our backyard and eager to see it succeed. We attended the soft opening, and here are our thoughts:The interior finishes are lovely, and the staff was pleasant, though not overly warm. The martini was excellent, but the glass choice highlighted the small amount of alcohol. The scallops were delicious, while the short ribs, though flavorful, were a bit tough. The hamachi was fresh, but the coconut sauce overpowered the dish, and the coconut rice was dry and underseasoned. The gnocchi was a touch too soft for the sauce, which made the textures feel a little flat. Each dish came with an abundance of edible flowers, which felt excessive. The scallops were stand out, delicious. Lastly, the Dubai cheesecake was more like an ice cream bar than cheesecake--Tasty, but too cold to cut.Despite the large staff, a few details were overlooked, like receiving a new napkin with each plate, leaving us with five by the end. The music also felt more suited to a club than a dinner setting.I'm a big fan of Chef Tucker and would definitely return once the finer details are refined--It has great potential.

Lira was absolutely spectacular. I've been following the news of Lira & Chef Tucker since they announced the closing of Flights in 2024. I will be so honest when I say I did not watch the show Tucker Ricchio (head chef) was on, but I did read every article that was written & became very invested for this new location to open. We do not get fine dining experiences quite like this in San Jose / Campbell where several people have a dream & make it come to life. Campbell holds a special place in my heart & I was excited to see what Tucker was going to bring home. I was absolutely blown away by the renovations that took place for Lira. It's breathtaking. The decor is completely different, lighting is incredible, tables/ seating packages seat more people, table set up is simple yet elegant. The color scheme is so classy. Every little detail within Lira was so intentional! The Lira team is some of the best trained, happiest team members I have seen in a long time. The functionality in which they come together & service the floor is like a ballet. At one point we laughed too hard & the candle on our table went out, a server was there within 2 seconds with a lighter lighting in. Eyes are on every detail! Also, not one person seemed stressed; on a Saturday during opening season.. in a restaurant. I could see laughing, so many smiles, conversations, glee! & while on the floor, so poised, calm, cool, & collected. OBSESSED! Food wise, absolutely delicious. Tucker & her team are amazing. While we only tried 3 things (this time), they were some of the best items I've ever had. They had servers come out & explain what the dish was. I realize this what takes place in Michelin restaurants, but to see this level of detail take place in Campbell felt like we were getting a big hug. The best part of the dinner (& I do not know the % in which this happens, so please do go there expecting this or going for a picture moment) Tucker ended up coming to the table to say hello. Again, never saw the show, just happy to be in her presence & eat her food. Tucker is extremely kind, loving, & really happy to be here. This all shows through her work. From the moment we walked in to boxing of our food, this is the most impressed I have been in a very long time. Need a reservation? Download Open Table.

I don't really watch any reality TV (except for my guilty pleasure of the Bachelor series....) but nonetheless was excited when my husband told me that Chef Tucker had won the second season of Gordon Ramsay's show, and recently opened this restaurant a few weeks ago. As soon as we entered the restaurant (which used to be Flights), I was delighted how they transformed the spot into a beautiful modern, swanky space. I also loved how sweet and welcoming Chef Tucker was, talking to all the tables, and taking pictures with guests. Drink menu is great with plenty of beers, wines and cocktails. I loved the wine that our waitress Madison recommended. She also really elevated our entire experience. She was so sweet and personable, checked in on us often and just enough. All the support wait staff that brought us dishes, new silverware, cleaned the table etc were wonderful as well. The menu is sweet and concise with a few small plates and a few large plates. We started with the Root Salad which was super cute in presentation- with the beets and carrots standing up like a little forest. That being said, it was a bit too light and small plate for the price, and I'd pass on it the next time we come. Really enjoyed the Bone Marrow, which was just incredibly juicy, but the cut was a bit too small to share, with the amount of bone marrow spreadable on only one of the two toasts provided. We had trouble deciding on the main entree, but opted for the Gnocchi which was such so so pillowy. My favorite dish of the night though was the dessert- her Dubai cheesecake. I'm not even a huge fan of cheesecake, and cheesecake is almost an understatement. It is this beautiful dish covered with edible gold, with rich soft chocolate completely coating a creamy interior. Definitely must get! This was one of the best dining experiences we've had in a while from the ambience to amazing service and delicious food. 5 stars to Chef Tucker and Madison and the rest of the staff !

I recently found Lira on Yelp. After a bit of research I discovered that it recently replaced Flights and was opened by Tucker Ricchio, winner of Next Level Chef S2. I don't watch the show but am well aware of it, and it's cool that she is a San Jose native and NDSJ alumna like me. We didn't personally meet Chef at the restaurant, but I did see her greet the table next to us. Chef seemed so humble and chill. Anyway, back to the matter at hand... I made dinner reservations for 5:30pm the Friday after Valentine's Day, and my husband and I unanimously felt like we had a fantastic dinner at Lira. The ambiance, service, food, and drinks exceeded my expectations. We've been to several new fine dining establishments in the area, but Lira has been my favorite by far. Lira was modern but elegant, and I liked how clean the wait staff looked in their black uniforms. Speaking of staff members, everyone was hospitable. We had a head waitress named Maddison, who was amazing. She was highly attentive, and I loved her energy. We just jived with her so well. We interacted with other waiters, who bussed our tables and dropped off plates, and they were just as friendly. Appreciated that the wait staff explained each dish and detail, and I was pleasantly surprised that they provided new plates and flatware between each order. Reason I liked this was because I got to try each item on a clean slate sans mixing flavors and cross contaminating dishes. Lira had items that were incredibly unique and tasty, so it was refreshing to try things were innovative and adventurous. I tried things I never had before. I was a huge fan of their version of an espresso martini, which had this beautifully creamy layer. Interestingly the cocktail tasted like a boozy butterscotch coffee cocktail. I had their Sichuan old fashioned, which tasted a bit too basic. I requested it to be swapped for their caprese martini that straight up tasted like a liquid caprese salad. the flavor was spot on. Can't knock it 'til you try it. My husband and I shared the following items:- Roots SaladHuge fan of this. Loved the - Scallops and HummusThis was the best dish of the night. The scallops were cooked perfectly, but it was honestly the hummus with its crispy chickpeas and textured capers that made the dish for me. - Braised Beef The braised short rib was extra tender and fell apart with the pull of a fork. The truffle flavor of the polenta was subtle, which was a great contrast to the blue cheese foam that I loved. - Duck and Farro Least favorite because the duck tasted gamey to me. Stilly tasty though, and I enjoyed the pomegranate, farro, and microgreens salad. - Dubai cheesecakeI don't like Dubai chocolate to begin with, but I went along with this dessert out of intrigue. Loved the strong rose and pistachio flavors, and the cheesecake was dense yet smooth. Definitely a decadent dessert, and the thick dark chocolate ganache attributed to that as well. - Olive oil cakeSolid dessert. Moist cake and subtle olive oil flavor. - Passion fruit mango tartWe got this to go, and it was delicious from its thinly cut mango slices shaped like a flower to its delicate crust. Each order came out in a continuous flow of food. There wasn't one time when I felt like there was a lull between one food to the next. Last but not least, we got complimentary limoncello shots and a give-away bag that looked like mini Birkins with M&M's. They really know how to treat you!

I had the absolute pleasure of trying Lira out on a Wednesday evening. We had at reservation at 8pm and were seated promptly upon arrival. Food:The menu has a variety of small plates and larger plates. My friends and I decided to order a number of things to share:Shishito Peppers - These came with more peppers than we were expecting! The peppers were good and the dipping sauce was good as well. Sunchoke Veloute - This was my favorite dish. It was absolutely delicious. It was creamy, decadent, and perfect for the cool, wet weather we've been having. Roasted Carrot Beet Salad - This was a very pretty dish. The puree on the bottom was creamy and delicious. Gnocchi - We ordered this without the pork. It was pretty good. The gnocchi was pillowy and so good. Scallop Dish - We ordered this dish two ways. The first was the original way with scallops and the second were with mushrooms. The flavors here were very good. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly. Pork Belly - I didn't try this one, but my friends thought it was really good. They loved the sauce. Dubai Cheesecake - This was creamy and a lot lighter than I thought it would be. It was delicious. Death By Chocolate - This was flambéed tableside. I thought it was great. The berries and raspberry sauce on the bottom was good. Service:Service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and helpful with our questions. The drink specialist director came over to introduce himself. One of the co-owners came to our table to see how everything was. For dessert, as we were celebrating a birthday, Chef Tucker came out to do flambee our dessert. Service was amazing all around. TL;DR - Great food and great service, amazing addition to Campbell.

I had the pleasure of attending the soft opening of Lira in Campbell, and I can already tell this place is going to be a favorite. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was amazing--upbeat music, a classy ambiance, and an energy that made the experience feel special. The food? Absolutely incredible. We started with the hamachi crudo (I hope I'm spelling that right!), followed by the filet mignon and beef short ribs. The filet was hands-down the most tender I've ever had--perfection on a plate. And then there was the Dubai cheesecake. Let me just say, the marriage of flavors in that dessert was pure harmony. It was truly the pièce de résistance of the meal. What I would say to the foodies is the gentle yet present allure of the distinctive flavors in a non pretentious way is why this is going to be a great place to eat. Nothing overwhelms but every bite brings a new complexity. Foam blue cheese. Basil in potatoes. The crunch in the cheesecake. Subtle yet profound in experience. The service was good ( kinks will get worked out I am sure ) , and the bar is pretty and deep. I even joked with the co-owner, Faisal, that we might as well set up a standing reservation because we'll definitely be regulars here.If you're looking for high quality food, a diverse bar, and good service, Lira is the place should be on your list. It's going to be a gem in Campbell!

My 1700th review saved for a special place. Exceptional new restaurant by talented local Next Level Chef winner with Michelin kitchen experience Chef Tucker. Fantastic food, beautiful dining room, and wonderful hospitality, 4.5 for now on its 7th day open but expect a full 5 stars after they hit their stride. Food: 5 Service: 4.5 Atmosphere: 5 Cost to worth it rating: 3 Opentableable: yesReturn worthiness: yes!Highlights:- Hospitality: everyone from the owner to sommelier to chef were thrilled to have guests in. They knew it was my birthday and went the extra mile to make me feel special. Total opposite from when you note it in a reservation and it's not even mentioned. When there were a few hiccups they tried their best to make up for them which I appreciated feeling valued as a customer. - Chef: such a sweet, energetic, positive, gifted soul who lights up the room and is a joy to be around. Was kind enough to deliver my birthday dessert and chat with us. - Menu: delightful mix of standard fare you'd see but with twists. Eg, steak, pork, etc but with more interesting international flavors infused.- Scallops with hummus: perfectly cooked and so good with that smooth accompaniment of the hummus and crunch of the chickpeas. 5 stars- Duck: lots of tender sliced pieces of duck breast fanned with a fun mixture parallel to it of pomegranate, pine nuts, and apple. 5 stars - Pork belly: several hearty square chunks generously glazed in soy and topped with a fun combo of spicy chili and pickled kumquats. 5 stars- Root salad: lots of chopped off carrots sticking up like in the ground was whimsical. Had lots of flavors including beets and carrot puree and bee pollen and pecan chocolate soil. Reminiscent of Dominique Crenn. 5 stars- Dubai cheesecake: stunning presentation of a chocolate ganache oblong edible gold sprinkled with different pistachio and rose flavors and toasted kataifI for a bit of crunch. 5 stars - Bone marrow: I didn't get any since my friends gobbled up the 2 orders, but was impressive with shallot gel and black olive puree. 5 stars - Lamb: I'm not a lamb person but this was cooked so nicely and incredibly juicy with just a bit of fun jerk spice over a corn puree. 4.5 stars - Death by chocolate: impressive flambe presentation with decadent chocolate and coffee flavors in the round puck. 4.5 stars - Filet and uni: fun combo with a dollop of uni on top for color and more umami flavor. Continuing the Japanese flair with miso potatoes and a ponzu sauce. 4 stars - Atmosphere: classy yet vibrant and comfortable. Long tall bar along the sides and tables within a smaller space than I expected. - Cocktails: unique offerings and good variety of spirits with one of the owners previously owning a liquor store.- Wine list: loved that they had reasonably priced bottles as many times it's a challenge to find anything in the 100 range. Sommelier was very helpful. There were several good champagnes to choose from around there plus 3 options for glasses of sparkling.Midlights:- Menu says small plates are the ones that can be shared but many large plates are sliced in pieces to do so as well. Lowlights:- Out of key dishes: the short rib my friend was so looking forward to and also the gnocchi. Odd thing was we weren't notified about the short ribs until over 15 minutes after we ordered and the gnocchi not until we noticed it never made it to our table and asked.- Small service snafus: from many empty glasses being left on the table to taking away used silverware and not replacing it for the upcoming dishes. Had an amazing time and can't wait to come back to try the other dishes.

We drove over two hours to dine here and it was worth the haul. I'm a huge fan of Chef Tucker and she has cooked for me for a private event so I was thrilled to see her open her first restaurant. The restaurant is very nice and modern with elegance. We had the sunchoke Veloute, the beet salad, the scallops as seen on Next Level Chef, the pork belly, short ribs, the iconic death by chocolate, cheesecake, and the passion fruit and mango tartlet. We also tried some of the cocktails that were recommended by our server. Truly some of the BEST FOOD we have ever had and we can't wait to go back and try more items! Tucker will get a Michelin star for sure and I can't wait to continue watching her career take off and soar! Great job Chef
