Sorry, I'm gonna cuss. Oh heck ya! Was looking for my tamale place in south bay, got it now. So many fresh pastries it's really hard to decide. Nice people, open really early like 4am weekdays, 5 weekends and prices are definitely fair. Love this place. I work right down the road so their going to get sick of seeing me!

I got 2 pastries. One was cream filled and the other one was pink with shredded coconut on the outside. It totaled up to $1.80. =].The cream filled one was good, light, and big for its price. With a smattering of powdered sugar, it was yummy. Wish the cream was more evenly distributed through out the pastry though....The pink pastry with coconut on top was also yummy. It was light and not too sweet which a lot of pastries and candies with coconut tend to be. This pastry was also big for its price.Overall, I felt I got more than my money's worth - a deal - here at La Mexicana. I would come here again for their yummy pastries when the sweets craving hits me. Maybe I'll even try the tamales everyone else has been raving about. :].

I love tamales! One of the first places I look for when move to a new city is a place that has good tamales. I've been here in San Jose for years now and still haven't found better tamales from any of the restaurants I've been to. Yes this includes Lucy's. This is the closest to the tamales I used to have and help make in New Mexico. These tamales would be even better if they used Hatch chili but beggars can't be choosers. This place has Chicken, Pork, and Raza (jalapeño and cheese) tamales which can be left in the husk or "prepared" for you out of the husks with sour cream and chili sauce. They also offer Mexican pastries, donuts, smoothies, and coffee drinks.Whenever I'm craving tamales this is my "Go To Place".

I have been coming to this panadería for years. Nothing compares to it as of yet. They have everything you could want to satisfy that Latino sweet tooth! I know some of the ladies and they know me by name. That's how cozy and tight knit it feels. On the weekends, especially in the morning, the lines out the door because everyone wants a piece. Bread is always soft, savory, and warm!

Best Pan dulce ever. My favorite is Pan elote . Staff is great! Owner is always there at store so probably that's why the pan is 10/10. Always fresh bread, delicious and the service is great !

Really delicious Mexican bread. Everytime I go I get the conchas and crossiants they are absolutely delicious. You don't need to know Spanish to order here which is always great and it's a good distance from my house and not overpriced. I'm always happy to go purchase a bollio roll for my sandwiches and the service is good. If anyone decides to go I recommend the pink conchas and the crossiants.
