L'Roco My WorldLocal Salvadorean spot that's been in operation since 2022, and has been on my radar since. It wasn't until the recent closing of our favorite pupuseria, Los Dubón (RiP), that drove us to finally visit. L'Roco comes with some high-aclaim, as they were featured last October in the SF Chronicle as "The Best Pupusas in The Bay Area." This is no small feat, as getting the Chronicle to notice anything south of Milbrae is a small miracle unto itself. The Good:*Huge shared lot with plenty of parking. There is also street parking, but personally, I'd stay in the lot. *Simple, classy décor and I love the wood chairs. The blackboard where visitors can write on where they're from is a nice touch, too. *Service was outstanding. The server (owner?) was friendly, efficient, and competent. *Reservations thru the Yelp app*Horchata Salvadoreña was nothing like the Mexican version, as it's more savory than sweet, and features peanuts, sesame seeds, brown rice, and cinnamon. Kinda like a mole in a drink! Really, really good. It's made in-house and definitely worth a try. *Curtido (Salvadorean cabbage slaw) was good and fresh. *Pupusas were fantastic, as advertised. The right amount of crisp, cheese and tasty fillings. The eponymous Loroco (vine flowers) and cheese was my favorite of the bunch, but the Chicharrón and cheese was also equally fantastic. *Salvadorean food isn't know for spice, so if you want a bit of heat ask for their "picante" hot sauce made with arból chilies. *You can also get the Pupusas made with rice flour, for an extra upcharge. *Gallina Asada (grilled chicken) was actually quite fantastic and they even managed to keep the chicken breast juicy, despite the obvious char in the photo. The Meh:*Most everything is made to-order so don't expect things to come out lickety-split. Trust me, it's worth the wait. *No outdoor seatingThe Ugly:*As eluded to earlier, the neighborhood is kinda sketchy so make sure to lock your car and stay off the street. Conclusion: One door closes, and another opens as we found our new go-to Pupuseria. Highly recommended.

Finally tried this place out for a late lunch on Saturday and left happily satisfied! Food took some time but it was worth the wait. I had a combo plate of pupusas and plantains. Pupusas were tasty and the plantains, so good! My husband loved the steak tacos with rice & beans.I ordered the coconut horchata drink(?) and it was really good with big pieces of coconut - not too sweet at all. Just wish I had some rum to go with it!Service was friendly and helpful. Place was clean and decorated for the holidays. Great neighborhood restaurant with lots of parking, just not in a very desirable location.

I may have just found the spot to go for great Salvadorian food. This is like no other place I've been too, they have food items that you won't see at other salvi restaurants. Their chonguenga was superb, it was juicy and tender with a bite to it. Their Antojito platter was delicious as well, all your typical goodies in one plate. I didn't take a picture of their horchata and Cabada, but it was on point a must have. The only downfall was their casamiento, it was a bit dry and not much flavor to it. Other than that everything else was exceptionally delicious!

We came here for dinner on a Thursday night. The restaurant was conveniently located near the highway exit, and we were quickly able to get seated despite that there are a decent amount of people in the restaurant. The interior of the restaurant was pretty casual but there were some nice flower decorations that could be good for Instagram pictures. The restaurant offered a variety of El Salvadorean cuisine such as pupusas and fajita plates. We got the yuca fries topped with chicarrones to share - the chicarrones was super crispy while the yuca fries were good with the sauce. For my main dinner, I got the 2nd pupusa combo which came with 2 pupusa and a side of fried plantain. This restaurant was named after the loroco flower, so I had to get both the loroco and cheese pupusa, and the revuelto and loroco cheese pupusa. Both pupusa were stuffed with cheese and tasted pretty, and the fried plantain was also crispy and delicious.

Came here again and the food was just as amazing as we remembered! Tried the carne asada plate with avocado and rice and beans. This was delicious! We also tried the pupusa and the horchata drink. I loved the flavors, the service and the environment.

Food is not bad if you're ok with heavy greasy food. Two stars is bec of the experience. Place was frigid, everyone was in jackets and we mentioned it to the older lady (owner?) but she just laughed it off. I had to go get a jacket from the car for my gf. Then mid meal a cockroach the size of a small cat starts walking through like he owns the place. We saw it, many patrons saw it and even called that same lady over to tell her. She laughed it off and went to tell some guy who came and lasso'd it like a small calf. My girl felt sick but no one apologized or addressed it in any way. Idk maybe it pays rent. Bathroom was a wreck too. Surprised by the stellar reviews.

Found this spot on Yelp and decided to give it a try on a Friday night. We were greeted kindly and the place had a welcoming/fun environment. We ordered the Antojitos platter and it was the highlight of our night. Sometimes portions are platters are smaller but not here! Everything was full size and tasted authentic. Their yucca and chicharrón was especially good. As for their pupusas, (zucchini, revuelta and loroco): great taste, not greasy, and stuffed with filling! Fave was revuelta! I think there were minor things that could've been better, like the plátanos and the tamales de puerco but we still enjoyed everything else. The horchata was really good and very authentic despite being a little overpriced ($7?). We can't wait to come back and try other things on their menu!

The food here is so GOOD, even down to the rice and beans. My mouth is salivating just thinking of the pupusas and cabbage.
