Wow... looking for a burger? Don't go to the chains.. instead go to a handcrafted steakburger! Kirk's has apparently been here since 1948! To last that long, you know it has to be good! There is ample seating both inside and outside. If you choose outside it's covered and they have space heaters galore! There are two areas inside, the very well stocked bar with seating and a somewhat separate dining area. The dining area is set up with 9 tvs with different games / shows playing. The service was fast and efficient, everything was super clean and well kept.I'd give this burger a 9.5/10, even higher than I would rate In&Out.

So, I stopped by Kirk's SteakBurgers the other day because I'd heard some buzz about their burgers, and I was in the mood for something hearty. Gotta say, it was... fine? Like, not mind-blowing, but not terrible either. The burger itself was decent--juicy enough, and the steak flavor came through, which I appreciated. The bun was toasted, which is always a plus in my book, but it got a little soggy halfway through, and that kinda bummed me out.The fries were just okay--crisp, but nothing special, and I wish they'd seasoned them a bit more. Service was friendly, though! The guy at the counter seemed like he actually cared if I enjoyed my meal, so props for that. The vibe inside was chill, nothing fancy, just a solid spot to grab a bite.Overall, I'd give Kirk's a 3 out of 5. It's a good option if you're nearby and craving a burger, but I wouldn't drive across town for it. Might try it again to see if I caught them on an off day!

Kirks has been on Bascom Ave for my entire life. My dad was more a fan of the Burger Pit but, about 10 years ago I started making Kirk's a monthly treat. The burgers are still as good as they ever were. The new location has a full bar. I'm told it is a good happy hour location. The new location is louder than the old one. I miss the condiment bar. I was miffed that the new location is not honoring the SteakBurger cards from the old location and is no longer issuing the cards (buy 10 burgers and get one free). Seriously, you are going to not honor those who built your business?Lastly, I agree with a couple other posts that affirm the deliciousness of the burger but question the sides. I added the tater tots - which were always golden brown, slightly crunchy and a treat at the old location. These laid on the plate and looked sad. Possibly freezer burned. Not golden. Not fluffy. Not great - but a fair portion.Last note: they seem to be one under on the meat cooking. I ordered medium rare and got rare. We ordered my son medium and he reported medium rare. Just saying.Service 4. Burger 4 Ambiance 3.5Burger Card 1. Overall 3

If I could leave no stars I would. The place looks amazing, nice vibe and service was great. BUT last night I got a burger & sweet potato fries to go. I took a bite and pulled a long thick strand of hair out of my mouth! Once I looked down at the burger there was another strand sticking out. I'm hoping all chefs are wearing head covers because this is not ok! Do better please.

Thought I would check Kirk's out since it's been around since the 40s. As I walked in , it was fairly packed and seemed like it was a true local staple for Campbell. I order the BBQ burger and also the Mozz sticks, the burger was good. It had a charred burger taste which is great. The size was also decent with a okay price point. I was really disappointed by the Mozz sticks as they tasted like freezer burn . They were hard and the breading was really thick and gross. I also wish they would maybe make their own BBQ sauce instead of using Heinz. I did like the fact that it had good vibes and everyone was enjoying themselves but Glad I got to try it, not sure if I would return.

I was craving a good burger and I figured I'd try out this local staple. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say I wasn't expecting anything crazy but boy was I wrong. This burger had so much flavor! The patty was perfectly seasoned with I don't know what but it was amazing. Their Kirk's sauce was also delicious. The burger fixings were very fresh and tasty as well. I got the crinkle cut fries and they were perfectly fried. A little pricey but so are fast food places these days, so I'd opt for a better meal like this one. I ordered for takeout and my burger was ready in 10 minutes. The inside was very clean. They have a sit up bar as well with a full menu.

I came here for dinner with a group of friends on a weekday. The place was packed, but we were able to find ample seating. There were plenty of outside seats, but as the weather was on the chilly side - we opted to stay inside. Because this is somewhat a sports bar, the noise level was high and it was hard to hear each other - but the atmosphere was lively and fun. After ordering from the front, our food was brought out to us. I'm not much of a burger person, but there was a good selection of burgers/sandwiches as well as kid friendly options. I got a bacon sourdough cheeseburger, garlic parmesan fries and a mint chocolate shake. The total for those three items was on the pricey side, considering we had to order at the counter and it wasn't a sit down restaurant. We ordered a few different sides to try for the whole table - garlic parm fries, criss cut fries and onion rings. The garlic parm fries had a nice outer crunch, the criss cut fries were hot and decently crispy and the onion rings were battered with a nice coating. Overall, I enjoyed the criss cut fries, but all three sides needed something to dip into and lacked flavor cooked into them. I had to add salt to the portion I took. My burger was okay - the meat was cooked the way I liked it, but there was so seasoning in the patty. The burger was on the dry side and I had to dress it up with ketchup. As I said, I'm not really a burger person - but this lacked any real flavor from the meat itself. The veggies on it were nice and fresh and I ended up eating them instead of finishing my whole burger. All my other friends enjoyed what they got - mushroom burger, blue cheese, original and bacon burger - so maybe it's just my preference. What I really enjoyed was the mint chocolate shake! It came in the old fashioned metal shake cup and it was cold! The shake was delicious and I had to take part of it to go as I couldn't finish it. I would come back here just for the shakes. Overall, nice place to get some dinner with friends. It's loud, but you can find a nice spot to catch up and hang out. Our trays were cleared pretty quickly and service was friendly.

The difference between a steakburger and a hamburger is just what parts of the cow the ground patty is made from. Basically, it's supposed to be a kind of higher-quality burger that was invented in the 1920s. Very Americana, very casual. There are two locations and I haven't tried the Palo Alto location, but they relatively recently renovated the Campbell restaurant. Kirk Sauce is a house-made sauce that resembles 1000 Islanding dressing, pub sauce is mayo-based, and they use soybean oil for frying. I went with a friend who has dietary restrictions, and we were assured that the entire menu was peanut-free. They have their own parking lot but there's also street parking at its immediate front. Some small things. The inside of the building echoes in a way that makes things loud. It's fine when there's a handful of people, but it'll definitely be a lot when there's something like a game going on. They have a large patio area that's nicely sheltered overhead and they've done their best to create a space separate from the street with heaters when it's colder out. My group went to sit outside so that we could hear each other better when chatting. They had a condiments and utensils station outside (to the right of the door) for people sitting outside, so it was all very convenient. Only issue is that Bascom Ave is a pretty big street, so there are occasionally revving engines that really busts a person's eardrums. All in all, it's a nice, clean patio area where you can move tables around to fit your group and have PLENTY of room for dogs!Kirk's SteakBurgers is a bit of a misnomer in that they don't only serve steakburgers or even only burgers. They mainly advertise their steakburgers which you can customize as well as a decently sized menu of different kinds of burgers, shakes, and usual fried sides and appetizers. But they also have a menu dedicated to different kinds of sandwiches (and some salads)! So they have a fair amount of stuff even for those who don't like burgers.Overall, I would recommend them. I thought my steakburger was delicious and I'm SO glad I ordered the garlic parmesan fries to go with it. Fries were very delicious, though the oil does pool at the bottom to make things VERY salty. It was a good, casual spot for a quick, tasty meal. I've heard that they've recently started to do weekend lunch and I want to try that!

Had a chance to visit Kirk's SteakBurgers for a yummy night out and so glad that I did! I went with my hubby and this is a cute casual spot that is great for a nice bite and drinks. Once we got here there were a lot of people but we got to order the following:* Bacon Bleu Burger - this was delicious and the flavors went so perfectly well together. The strips of bacon were also really juicy and crunchy* Pineapple Bacon Burger - This was yummy and the sweetness of the pineapple went really well with the rest of the burger* Cajun Fries - These were very well flavored and seasoned well. Loved the crunch and would order these againOverall great experience - I would totally go back and service here was also really great also!

First time visiting since the movie; I remember the location was most recently an American fusion with steak and barbeque items. Other than the branding and paraphernalia on the walls I don't think the interior has changed much. It is pleasant enough though not as well-lit as other places. There is anundant seating outside, comparable to the previous location, which may be better appreciated now that the weather is getting warmer. (But at this location the outdoor seating area may be noisier since it is now facing the street directly, with at the previous location it was perpendicular and facing the lot.)Full service is available for bar area patrons only; everyone else places an order at the counter and one of the staff will bring it to your table. The staff was very friendly and pleasant. I ordered only the triple double and didn't add any condiments. The default cook for the patties is medium, to which I assented as I usually order it undercooked compared to what I really want as I don't expect most places to get the right amount of doneness. The patties turned out to be more medium well than medium, which was ok with me. The burger was still juicy and you could clearly taste the charbroiled quality of the cook. I don't know if the patties are made in-house but I did think they were better than the patties at the other two places south on Bascom in Los Gatos. I would go there again for a burger.
