Another great experience we had was our Saturday breakfast at Johnny's, the best 2025 version of a diner that we have ever seen. Spotlessly clean, even in the bathroom, this Main Street Half Moon Bay coffee shop pushed out elevated breakfasts, and ours were both outstanding. For the first time in memory, we sat at the counter. Kinda made you want to ask your neighbor how their crop was doing this year, haha. We chatted up our waitresses and followed their lead to have an eggs benedict dish that included short ribs and a piece of fried chicken with a waffle. Our whole experience there was just a hoot. We saw another table having these bowls of frozen juice with a bottle of champagne being opened to pour over the top. A mimosa in a bowl well before 10 am on a Saturday. Tre elegant!

Waited 5-10 mins for outdoor seating (we had our dogs with us) on a Saturday morning. However, they forgot our menus and I had had to go inside to physically get them 10 minutes after. I did ask the gentleman who got us water to get them, but he forgot? Then our waitress came and took our order but had to place a dirty coffee cup (from another table she was cleaning) on ours to write down our order? That's so unsanitary... Food is 2/5. We got a turkey sandwich and the burger. The best part of both dishes were the fries. Drinks - a decent list of options. My partner got a beer and it came with a chilled glass. Outdoor seating - chairs are really unstable. Thin metal chairs that were unbalanced.

Blondie and I never make it down here in time, when we visit Half Moon Bay. Today, we went to Johnny's first, and were very happy we did.First, I'll note that this "diner" has class. Cloth napkins, actual candles on the tables, nice glasses, and the half and half is served in a little pitcher. Service was fast for a little place with limited seating. We were by the window, with a nice view of the street.Anyway, it's really all about the food. Best chilaquiles I've had, with just the right amount of spicy heat. Check out the picture. Blondie had a creme brulee type French toast, and didn't have to add any syrup; it was plenty sweet. Plus they had a hot chocolate with whipped cream and Oreo atop. It was all a bit pricey, but worth it. We just to remember to get here early enough.

Happy 30th, Annie! We came here as a group of 4 to celebrate Annie + check out the pumpkin festivities going on. Parking: during non event time, there should be plenty of street parking available. To get on the waitlist, you just need to have them put you down on the note book. The staff here was very friendly and attentive to keeping us aware of when our table would be free. Your entire table has to be here to be seated. We waited almost 45min, which was a bummer. We missed out on 2 tables ahead of us bc our party did not fully arrive. I also think the diner was understaffed. The menu: everything from the menu looked so good, especially breakfast items. But we got seated at 12pm, and got the brunch menu instead. Brunch menu was fine, but not as exciting. Typical items you'll see for the most part. Allen and I shared the Johnny's Chilaquiles and Fish and Chips. - portion sizes are so small - food tested subpar. Chilaquiles better than fish n chips - fish n chips never again. So overfried, the picture is the true color of what our food looked like. Portion was crazy small too - the smallest I've ever had of ordering a dish like this. Fries were okay. Overall, I would probably not come here again. The staff was great, decor is cute. Food is just not good though.

Johnny's was the perfect place to stop for a quick lunch on our roadtrip. The service was quick, and the food was tasty. We enjoyed the view of the Main Street from the window, and the design of the restaurant (even the bathroom!) was so welcoming. Good value for the price!

Went here during the pumpkin festival. There was a long line before opening and we got in. It's a 50s style diner with the music and a smaller menu that has good selections. We tried the chiliquilas and a scramble. The coffee was pretty good too.

The food was great and the waitstaff were friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed the Short Rib Benny and fish sandwich. We will be back to try other delicious items on the menu! The restaurant is very cute with an updated diner feel. Very clean and bright. The fresh flowers on each table and counter add a nice touch. Well worth the visit. Loved it!!

Unexpectedly terrific food in this retro establishment. It's probably more of a 4 1/2 star, but I rounded up because they have such a terrific eggs Benedict, friendly and efficient staff.
