Ordered takeout the other day to try a new (to us) Italian spot in HMB then went in person for dinner last night! Ordered: Mushroom Risotto, 2 Caesar Salads. Roasted Brussels (no bacon) + Brick Oven Prawns w Feta and Calabrian Chilis -- i thought the prawns would be dry by the description but they were more like shrimp scampi style. still really good! Caesar salad was ok but needs a punchier dressing. I'm not a fan of huge gem lettuce pieces but had to try it. Risotto was decent/good but could be creamier/cheesier. The sprouts were terrible. Last night we sat on the outdoor patio which was really pretty. Ordered: calamari to split which had 2 incredible sauces + Petrale Sole special w/ mashed potatoes and veggies + Paella special + minestrone soup + beet salad + tomato bruschetta + truffled focaccia balls + a bottle of white wine and a Generous Spirit cocktail for me. Calamari and the Sole special were incredible, as was my cocktail! Didn't try anything else but it all looked nice. Portions were large. Service was amazing. The staff work efficiently in unison and they made sure to rearrange some things for us outside as the rain started coming down so we got to enjoy the rest of our meal out there. Great spot for a no frills dinner of some classic foods. Seems like specials are daily/nightly!

It's always a great experience here! The food, drinks, and ambiance is top-notch! We ordered our favorite menu items! It's been our goto orders! Everything from the taste and presentation, is top-tier! I wish I took more pics of the dining area and the restaurant in general! I will on my next visit but it's definitely a beautiful setting! From the decor ambiance, it feels like your in Italy dining in an authentic Italian restaurant!

We randomly had a late lunch here on our way into town before we checked into the hotel. Super cute inside, very friendly staff, and the menu looked pretty solid. It was very cold outside so my husband and I were both looking for something warm and comforting. The minestrone was exactly what I was hoping for - super flavorful, VERY hot, great flavor, fresh. The beet salad was gorgeous and I loved the sauce - it was honestly a nice little surprising dish. Spaghetti bolognese was solid - and again, came out nice and hot. Bread service was tasty and come on, bread is always a great treat. We ordered our drinks - a glass of Pinot Noir and a beer - but the server misunderstood and brought and opened the whole bottle of wine. Thankfully we were able to cancel the beer so we could share, and they let us take the rest of the bottle sealed with us to go to our hotel. Solid experience overall - and grateful we did not have to wait for a table!

During a weekend getaway to Half Moon Bay my wife decided to explore the many quaint shops in the downtown area. During her adventure she saw several eateries that she thought I would enjoy. She offered to treat me to lunch at It's Italia. She saw an omelette on their menu that appealed to her and she knew I had been craving steamed mussels and clams so off we went. The restaurant has a special occasion vibe. I would not hesitate to suggest it if you were looking for a place for a first date or a celebration with friends. The staff were friendly and attentive. We were presented with house made focaccia upon seating. On the side was olive oil and balsamic vinegar. My wife ordered the Herbed Ricotta Omelette and I ordered the Tequila Clams and Mussels. While I could go on and on about balanced flavors and perfect textures the first thing that comes to mind is WOW! Words cannot describe how pleased we were with our first time experience. We are looking forward to our next visit.

This place was absolutely amazing. It closes at 8 on Sundays; our reservation was for 8pm. We walked in and they seated us right on time. The ambiance was perfect, romantic and intimate yet not overdone. The service was fantastic; quick but not rushed, and all the staff were extremely attentive. My better half had originally ordered gnocchi but they happened to be out at the end of the night. He went with the pumpkin gnocchi instead, and was pleasantly surprised. I tried a bite as well, and liked it enough to order again. The lemon caper salmon and mashed potatoes with greens was fantastic, and I am definitively picky when it comes to how my salmon is cooked... Hats off to the chef and kitchen staff; between the wine and the amazing dinner were were too full for dessert . We did not leave until well after closing, and were not rushed out at all. In fact quite the opposite. We asked if they would take our picture together; I attempted to dress up and put on cute shoes for the evening but as someone with a mobility disorder I am admittedly slow when it comes to standing and walking lol. They were so kind, patient and accommodating, and more than happy to take the camera and get some good shots before we left. I am truly impressed and do not have a thing to speak poorly of. We would most definitely return when we are in the area again!

We went on a Saturday just before 5:00. We were greated by a friendly hostess. Our server Gino was great. Every staff member we encoungered was pleasant.I wanted to try the calamari because it was local and fresh. It was the tenderest calamari I've ever had and they fry it in rice oil which is great. This dish was under spiced. While it wasn't bad, it wasn't quite good either flavor wise. The summer peach salad was perfectly dressed. The grilled peaches were perfect. The candied walnuts were good. They could have been better with a bit more seasoning. I ordered the local Sole with cauliflower, asparagus and mashed potatoes. This dish had zero flavor. While the ingredients were fresh, the mashed potatoes were a bit runny, the cauliflower had no flavor, the fish was tender and fresh also with no flavor, asparagus is asparagus. There were also grilled tomatoes on the dish which I did not try. My dining companion had the Paccheri Vodka pasta. All she said was where's the meat. It was pasta heavy, but good flavor. This is not a destination restaurant. While we enjoyed ourselves eating fresh bland food. We wouldn't return.

Blown away - It's Italia hit all the points:Great ambience Great serviceGreat drinksGreat food - appetizers and main courseWe had lunch here and did not regret our choice. Every dish we ordered was top notch. High point - the ability to modify a dish to suit the diet. They accepted the suggested change and proposed an even better adjustment and it was PERFECT!Wish I took photos of our cocktails!

From the moment we stepped in we loved the warm inviting decor rich beautiful detail in very space, inside and outside sitting areas, water fountains and round table options. Servers where great seating us quickly and the food was out timely. I had the prawn linguine with perfectly tender prawns in a well blend of sweet and savory red sauce, glass of Zinfandel and complimentary warm bread - perfection. It's Italia is defiantly a new family favorite and we hope to return soon.

A charming Italian eatery situated right in downtown Half Moon Bay. I've eaten in and taken out food multiple times here and it's been a solid experience every time. Their pizzas are great, though they're only available to-go. Their carbonara is delicious. The focaccia is tasty too. The portions are generally large, so the prices aren't really unreasonable. I tried the lasagna last night. We had a fantastic and helpful server who recommended it and said it's made fresh everyday. I ended up feeling bummed because it was honestly a bit disappointing! The pasta tasted fresh and it was a generous portion, but there was WAY too much cheese and salt and basically no tomato ragu. I recommend to steer clear of the lasagna and to try a different one of their pastas instead!
