Icing on the Cake

OMG! I think I found my new favorite bakery. Such a cute ambiance as you walk in! And the variety will take your breath away. At least it did for me. There is so much to choose from and all of it looks good. You might have paralysis of choice with so many options that seem so worthwhile. What a gem! Ever since our favorite cupcake bakery closed down I have hunted far and wide for something even resembling it and I think I finally found it. Might even surpass it as best EVER! And that's saying quite a bit.FOOD: OMG! So much good stuff. We tried a couple of cookies (Snickerdoodle and Triple Chocolate - both delicious. They do snickerdoodles the way they are supposed to be done. Triple Chocolate was a little bit dry but I just like them with a bit more softness but still delicious - I'd order it again). We also tried the cupcakes (I had the basic chocolate on chocolate). OMG! So delicious!!! How many times will I say OMG in this review? I have to come back to try all the rest!SERVICE: OMG! Could the SERVICE actually be better than the baked goods? I was so touched by the awesome and patient and kind service that I would come back (probably) even if it wasn't good. But it was good so the amazing service was the "icing on the cake."COST: Very reasonable for the quality of the product. It's not the cost that will stop you from buying more - it'll be the huge amount you've already bought that you can't possibly eat. Coming back for sure.

What a charming bakery! As soon as you walk in you notice how nicely organized and decorated the store is. There's so much to see in the store while you decide what to indulge in. With such a vast array of options, we're already planning our return visit. The service was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, answering all our questions with a smile.We inquired about the difference between the banana cake and the banana cupcake. They explained that both use the same recipe, but the cupcake has more cream cheese frosting. We opted for the cake, which, while not as fresh as we'd hoped, still tasted amazing.The true star of our visit was the Peanut Butter Cream Pie! WOW! Bursting with flavors and incredibly rich, it pairs perfectly with a cup of coffee or milk. This was undoubtedly the highlight of our order!

I really love the banana cupcakes at Icing on the Cake. I don't go to Los Gatos often but when I do, I love to go in for a sweet snack. The banana cupcakes are soft and moist and have delicious cream cheese frosting. I love them so much. The service is always been consistently good, in my opinion. It's always busy inside when I go. They have a lot of wonderful treats to chose from so if cupcakes are not your thing, don't worry, they have a big selection of cookies, brownies, sweet breads (eg. banana bread) and bars (eg. lemon bars). You can also order cakes ahead of time. Overall a cute store with fun decorations to buy and see and lovely treats.

Lucy helped me today and she's very nice! I found a gluten-free wheat free chocolate macaroon that is delicious! The store is so adorable and they have a lot of Christmas treats and greeting cards. They will also make any type of cake, wheat, free or gluten-free and dairy free as well so come in here and order your birthday cakes for yourself and friends too!They make dog treats as well

I had the strawberry donut, and it was alright. The icing was too thick, and the donut itself was a bit stale. The flavor was not very strong. It was an okay experience, but nothing special. I expected more freshness.

So this was our second time visiting icing on the cake. The baked goods and cakes are always good but there has been one issue on both of our visits. Somehow they double charge us for the baked goods. Thankfully both times we caught the mistake and they "switched to a new register". After this switch the price is slashed in half immediately. This has happened both times we have visited icing on the cake, leading me to believe they could be doing this to many customers who just tap and carry on with their day. I am shocked the workers do not catch this mistake as anyone who can do basic math would realize this is not correct. Be mindful of the listed price of the baked goods and your total when visiting this business. Very disappointed as it leads me to believe they are taking advantage of customers.

This place is pretty busy so make sure to grab your number from the machine once you go in. There's no actual line, so it's a little confusing if you've never been in there before. It felt chaotic to me inside. If I wasn't with people that knew what to do, I would've been standing there for awhile just waiting. It's not completely clear at first to get a number, and staff didn't say anything at all to those that walk in. I was told they do cakes and bigger things, and they have a parking long in the back so that you're not walking far with a gigantic order. I'll have to come back and try other things, but the cupcake we tried was pretty good.

I bought a cake from here this weekend and five cupcakes and everything was super super dry. The only good thing was the frosting. I spent quite a bit of money and was super disappointed in how it turned out it was for a friend's birthday and it was a disappointment.

Happy Birthday to my BIL and thank you to his gf for choosing Icing On The Cake!!!I've actually had this bakery bookmarked thanks to by buddy, Henry M. recommending it's infamous carrot cake w/ cream cheese frosting. While I have yet to try this specific item, I was overjoyed to learn about the custom banana cake order made for our celebratory special event.Purchase:Banana cake with cream cheese filling + buttercream frosting on the outside. [My girl doesn't play when it comes to her details in ordering being that she is a massive sweets/cakes kinda girl].First and foremost, the cake presentation was 10/10. Honestly one of the most prettiest cakes i've seen- nothing too flashy but oh so beautiful. Secondly, the penmanship on the cake was absolutely "chef's kiss" status!! This just added to the cake's extremely pleasing aesthetics. The cake in itself was moist, fluffy, and not overly sweet if you avoid the filling and cream. Now, with that being said, I can't say this is the best banana cake I've had but it's still pretty damn good. I kind of envisioned more of a ripe, sweet, banana taste that you would typically anticipate in a banana loaf and some walnut bits thrown in there wouldn't have hurt. Walnuts could have elevated the cake's taste and given a nice contrast in textures but that's just my opinion.4/5 stars. I wouldn't hesitate to give Icing On The Cake another go, maybe then I'll get to sink my teeth into some carrot cake.

Best wheat-free chocolate cake my son said he's ever had. (He actually said "best CHOCOLATE CAKE he's ever had.") Delightful space with lots of beautiful options and fun looking gift-y things. Will definitely order again and will swing by for other treats. What a lovely find!
