Banh Mi for about $6-7 after tax is unheard of these days. I love their #7 Grilled Pork/Thit Nuong because of the peanut and shallot topping that differentiates itself from other banh mi shops. They have expanded their banh mi menu to at least a dozen other offerings like Grilled Beef, Spicy Korean Pork or Chicken, Korean Tofu, etc. Similar to other Vietnamese delis, they also sell packaged meals: vermicelli sets, rice sets, traditional sweets, grilled meats as well as a BBQ section where you'll find roasted pork, etc. They accept cards! The location has plenty of parking too.

This is one of the longest-running bánh mì spots in San Jose.In addition to their signature sandwiches, they offer homemade items like frozen egg rolls, pâté, and Vietnamese mayo, all made from scratch. They've recently updated their menu and remain one of the most budget-friendly sandwich shops around. They also have convenient, ready-made lunch trays for grab-and-go meals.

LOVE Huong Lan Banh mis . The food is always good & the price isn't too extreme like everything now a days . I go for their vegetarian sandwiches - amazing !!! And my husband gets the pork banh mi & spring rolls .The ladies at the registers are really helpful & welcoming. There's a long area to sit & eat your food. It's usually pretty busy during lunch hours & evenings. The environment can get noisy during busy times.

My fave spot for bánh mì. Very affordable. $6.75 plus tax and it's a good portion. They have lots of packaged meals, snacks and party trays, as well as a hot food section with roast duck, pig and quail. I've gotten their bánh bèo (steamed rice cake topped with shredded shrimp and mung bean) trays before and it was good. They also have pho and an eating area on the side. It used to be cash only a while back, but so glad they take card now. Service is usually quick when coming to order in person but a few times I've called in an order when I'm on a super time crunch so I can just come in and pick it up. For the sandwiches, you can ask them to pack the veggies separately if you don't plan to eat it right away. In terms of ambiance, it's a no frills spot but the food is what brings me back every time. Lots of parking available. It's also become my bf's fave spot for bánh mì now and although he's never been to Vietnam he says it feels like VN here lol. Enjoy!!

Before Duc Huong, there was Huong Lan. Huong Lan is an ancient San Joseian Banh Mi establishment known for Banh Mi (what did you think I was gonna say?)I'm kind of glad that DH took a lot of the heat off of this place. I'll say it - I love gatekeeping! And I guess by writing this review I'm un-gate keeping...so...oopsAnyway, on a serious note. This place has great and massive Banh Mis at an affordable rate. I appreciate the texture of the bread - not too crunchy (a la Lee's), but still packs a great bite + softness of the bread. And did I mention these Banh Mis are BIG?!As far as service goes - this is a fast food spot. I know there are tables there but those tables are for where you take your fast food to eat it. Order at the counter and eat it!

This place is always a must stop for us if we're in the area or even just driving through. It's been awhile since we've visited though, they have remodeled their seating area..lots more room to sit and eat. We ordered 3 banh mi's - bbq chicken, pork & spicy Korean chicken..all were great, but we were expecting the "spicy" Korean chicken to have a little more kick. Nevertheless, it was still delicious. Service was quick, only waited about 5-7 minutes.

Came by for a light lunch and it was a tasty experience. Parking is plentiful in the private lot. Seems like the property owner cleaned up the riff raff on the property which made the visit more pleasant. There was a good assortment of spring rolls, banh cuon, along with freshly made sandwiches inside. Ordered a couple spring rolls for $5 along with an iced Vietnamese coffee for $6.The spring rolls were super fresh and came with a super tasty dipping sauce. I loved it.The iced Vietnamese coffee was gigantic and not too bitter like on previous visits. They seem to now take credit cards now too which is a plus. The dining area has been improved with new tables and seats for dining in.

For their sandwich this establishment is 5 stars. There is actual head cheese slices and lots of pate along with the usual veggies and pickled carrots, etc. If you're a traditional banh mi lover and you want your bang for your buck, this is it.I called for my #1 pickup at 7:58pm (just 2 minutes before closing). I was pleasantly surprised they took my order and I arrived 8:01pm. Since this is closing time, I saw a bunch of discounted prepackaged meals. Let me share a little about them. The banh cuon with pork is only $6. They are normally around $8 but they discount them at the end of the day. I thought it would be stale or not as fresh when I ate it the next day. The trick is to refrigerate immediately, and then when you're ready to eat you warm it up for 45 seconds under a wet towel. It essentially brings back the silky softness of the rice rolls. It was great and this may be my emergency banh cuon takeout go to spot.Unfortunately I can't say the same for the bbq meats over rice for $6. My wife got a slight case of food poisoning. She only ate the char siu (bbq pork) and skipped the roast chicken. She said the rice was hard and pork was not tender. About 5 hours after she ate her lunch, she had a stomach ache and had to go to restroom a few times. I felt bad since I was the one that bought it.This is a no frill type of place. They also take credit card which is rare at these places. There is no ambiance other than maybe a couple homeless people outside. They don't bother me.

Good place to grab take and go food at an affordable price point. Everyone always hypes their banh mi, but the food from the hot bar is also pretty delicious (such as the bamboo shoots). They also serve porridge, which is great on days when you're feeling under the weather. Plenty of parking out front and easy to get onto the freeway afterwards. Service is fast.

One of my favorite on the go sandwhich spot! I called 15 min in advance, so they have my order ready in time. Once I'm there, I easily pick it up and am in and out within minutes. The sandwich itself is ginormous! It took me two sittings to eat it, they really don't skimp on the ingredients. Maybe too much for some ingredients, like the onions. The bread was really yummy, it had a nice crunch but didn't hurt my mouth to bite it. The meat was generously portioned, but some pieces were too fatty for me. Just eat around those. Overall, super quick grab and go spot! There are so many other prepped hot food options, and I'm looking forward to trying the viet bento box and vermicelli bowl next time.
