Mine and my fams go-to hawaiian spot in the Millbrae/San Bruno area. In the past its been a hit or miss when it came to hawaiian spots, when you were feeling like a lunch plate I wasn't sure where to go.No fear though, Hana is your spot and don't worry you can thank me later with a katsu plate okaayy?? LOL jk but not really, I'm hungry Family running this joint is sweet and the food is fresh and always piping hot, which is a good thing. By far this is the best chicken katsu other than getting it on the islands. The crunch on this is like a CRONCH!! - while still being juicy and full of flavor, yall gotta be crazy if you've never had it here. My suggestion is to go enjoy yourself a plate or two and transport yourself back to the aina.

The best thing I had here was the Garlic Basa. Super garlicky fish fillets on a bed of veggies. Offset this with their greasier offerings and they are brilliant together.I also like their Fried Shrimp.Chicken Katsu's crusty breading was filling, and one piece stuffed me up.The rest of what I had tried (ranked best to worst when eaten there):* BBQ short ribs* Fried Fish* BBQ chicken* BBQ beefI find their BBQ meat greasy, and overly tenderized. But steaming and discarding the leftover liquids bring them to perfection.Overall, good values, large portions, similar to L&L. Yummy garlic fish, but I had a better version of that in L&L (Stockton).

A literal mountain of food at affordable prices! The dish to get here is the "Half & Half" plate, which comes with two proteins, two sides, a small portion of greens, and a dipping sauce. I tried the chicken katsu & BBQ chicken. The former was crispy and lightly battened, while not being overly greasy. The chicken was also very moist. The BBQ chicken was just ok, a bit tougher than I would like, but still not bad. Again, the game here is the exceptional value. You also get rice & mac salad for $15 total. The rice was cooked well, and the mac salad wasn't drowning in mayo or overly vinegary...a perfect complement to the chicken! It comes with a side of katsu sauce and hot sauce (if you ask). I also tried their spam musubi. That was also good, but I think I bit steep at nearly $3. The ingredients were very fresh, though! This is the kinda place you come to if you are in the area, or if you are craving some Hawaiian BBQ. While tasty, I wouldn't recommend a special trip.

A solid cheap eats spot! Everything is priced decently and it comes with a good amount of food. Also a little different than your average Hawaiian restaurant, as they offer more Hawaiian dishes that you don't usually see in the city like Lau Lau and Garlic Shrimp. Definitely think this is one of the best small Hawaiian restaurants in NorCal.

I got the spam musubi. This place seems like a good spot for a quick takeout or lunch. The musubi was a little different than I was used to (more seaweed, longer grain rice, a little dryer) but it came with a tasty ginger teriyaki tasting sauce. Overall, the service was super fast and it was a great price

Want a convenient location near the airport for your Hawaiian food craving? Then check out Hana's. I was eager to have my favorite food again once we came back over to the West Coast. With street parking available, ordering at the counter, and our food coming out in a timely passion - I was very pleased! Plus the pricing was good for what I'm used to. The food is what I know it to be! The mix plate was a great serving for my partner and I to share for a late lunch. The meats are good cuts, and the mac salad is great. Really pleased we found this place & I do recommend!

Surprised I haven't reviewed this spot yet. Been here a handful of times now and the food is good, service is fast and quantity quality ratio is really good. Staff is friendly when ordering over the phone or in person. At busy times best to call ahead but today decided to come in around 7pm and they got my 3 orders ready in under 10 mins. Sometimes when busy they will tell you 20 mins. Pretty standard seating for a Hawaiian spot. Like a fast casual spot from the 90's and it's still the same as the 90's. One of the better more consistent spots for Hawaiian in the peninsula.

I had a great lunch here with my family. The Chicken Katsu was very crispy, almost like an Asian fried chicken. The Spam Masubi had a sweet soy sauce between the spam and rice. The Beef Curry was more like a beef stew in a mild curry gravy sauce, but still very good. If you are not sure what to get, get the Mixed BBQ Plate -- it has kalbi beef, bulgogi beef, chicken, rice, and mac salad; every component tasted great. The portions were quite big. Each plate had a generous serving of meat. Even our curry had several large chunks of beef. My teenager son was full after a mini-plate with a spam masubi, and he usually eats a *ton*.I miss Hawaii now.

The posted menu has many options to choose from. Food was made quickly and delicious. Great portions, 1 plate can easily feed 2 individuals. Plenty of seating inside. The interior could use a fresh coat of paint to make it a little more inviting. I gave it 4 stars only because of the counter person. Didn't get her name but she needs to atleast pretend to be happy to greet customers. This has happened on several visits so it wasn't a one time incident. Other customers had the same service. You can also order by phone. The food is worth 5 stars.

YAY a new Hawaiian BBQ place!! WHOO HOO... am so EXCITED. It's a bit far for me but definitely on the way to SF or close to my kids so I see opportunities for going there....Was visiting my dad in SF so stopped over here on the way and I'm so glad we did. I called in my order first and the lady taking the order was nice and efficient - we worked out the pick up time as she could have it ready in 10 mins but it would take me 30 mins to get there - so she made sure it was all ready at the time we stated! She was super nice and friendly when we came for pick up as well. What an easy process.Wanted to REALLY try their garlic shrimp - that's so hard to find at most local Hawaiian BBQ places so this was an absolute must. SO MUCH flavor, tons of garlic and shrimp cooked PERFECTLY. But first I have to say - their mac salad was very tasty! Luckily I got that as a side in all my plates cause my dad devoured it and loved the mac salad - really added the extra to the whole meal!!We wanted to try a bunch of other proteins so we got a Regular Half and Half with beef ribs and lau lau. Now I will say the lau lau while it had great flavor was a bit dry - typically I love it when it's moist and has a bit of fat in the pork but this was all lean and a bit dry. BUT the leaf was tasty and definitely flavor wise was good. BUT the beef ribs - YES! It was PERFECT and tender and so much flavor! AND not overly salty. Some places it's a bit salty for me which is why you have to eat it with rice. This was a great bit without rice - but even better with the mac salad! :)And the last combo we got was the chicken katsu and fried Basa - this is the only one we added the rice and mac salad to. Fam has been cutting back on rice so there was MORE than enough rice for us to all share... FIRST let me share - for those of you who used to go to J&Js in Cupertino - their chicken katsu sauce was AMAZING - on the sweeter side and I so MISSED not having that anymore. NO MISSING ANYMORE cause Hana's chicken katsu is even better than J&Js. The sauce seems to be the same but their chicken katsu is even BETTER... thicker and juicy with that perfect crunch on the outside!! I'm SO HAPPY!! Oh and their fried Basa was meaty and tasty as well. I will say - for fried items it's probably best to eat right away - as the fried Basa was a bit softer by the time we brought it to my dads but the thickness of the basa and taste were definitely spot on!!I'm SO EXCITED to have found this place. Actually a friend of mine a long time ago had gotten party trays from here and I vaguely remember that I liked it which is why I marked this as a must visit and I'm SO HAPPY we did. Can't wait to go back!!
