Living by CCSF over the past year, I've seen hall of flame pop up numerous times on DoorDash and whenever I stop by Stiizy and wonder if this place really is that good. The neighborhood is saturated with burger options across the spectrum of fast food like Shake Shack (which we hate) to classics like Beeps and Calibur (which we also aren't huge fans of), so a place like hall of flame really can't be that good? The pictures also don't look so awesome, it can't be good? It has to just be the spot that the SFSU kids go to since it's coseby? Looking for late dinner options on DoorDash last night, I bit the bullet and made my order. I grabbed the one that's just the classic cheeseburger with regular fries and ordered an extra side of sweet potato fries because we were just in that mood and wanted to try both. The onion rings has their praises on here but my stomach wasn't feeling it as much as the sweet potato yesterday. I saw that you could upgrade the regular fries to a basket for $3ish more, so I wondered if the fries that came with the burger would be enough if I hadn't ordered the extra side. We placed the order and then we waited to see. Upon opening the bag, I already knew this might be good. The reg fries were fairly generous but the sweet potato basket was huge. The burger itself was fairly big and the burger looked normal, but what would it taste like?Man that burger was so good. I couldn't believe it. Don't let the looks fool you. It was quality meat on a quality bun and the lettuce, tomato and onions were just the right amount to not completely overpower the burger. The burger tasted like the ones I would get back home in Fremont from this place called Bob's giant burgers and had a restaurant quality feel but in a mom and pop, which we love. The regular fries were very crispy and are the McDonald's cut, which most restaurants somehow still f*** up because they come soggy on delivery. My brother used to own a cheesesteak shop so when I saw the fries come in paper bags, I knew immediately they knew what's up, compared to Beeps which packs it in a styrofoam container and sog up by the time you get home. The oil they used tasted clean and fresh until Beeps. Idk why but the fries there taste like dirty grease and I'm trying really hard to love Beeps since it's right next door to my house. The sweet potato fries were a thicker cut and were perfectly devoured in seconds. Don't sleep on Hall of Flames. I'm a big burger enthusiast, and I will say I would even throw this burger into the top 20, which includes burgers from Au Cheval in Chicago. Found my new take out spot for burgers.

Tucked away by SF state and hidden away in the fog is a gem of a burger.Hall of flame has mostly classic burgers, with Niman ranch burger Pattie's (yum). I ordered the humdinger, which has a generous helping of mushrooms on top. My boyfriend and I were craving the same burger so the only difference was his was medium and mine was medium rare. Both were so juicy. As soon as we bit in, our hands were splashed. The house salad was yummy with a light and balanced dressing that is neither too sweet nor too acidic. Quite large for the price! The service and ambiance are what you expect from a casual burger spot. They're quick and kind; the chairs and cups are plastic. But if you're just looking for a quick, casual burger while watching some sports, this is the spot.

I enjoyed my Chili Davis burger with a side of Chili fries today. Although it was not the best Chili burger setup (I removed the cold tomato slices and lettuce leaves after my first bite), it was quite a vibrant display of colors once my order arrived, which made the meal something to look forward to. The fries were great, and you could tell that everything was fresh and well-made. The service was superb, and the ambiance was more of a pleasant carry out kitchen pit stop-and-go location and not so much of a dine-in experience unless you work here and are on a lunch break. I mean, to be fair, I almost broke my neck attempting to watch the TV above my table

Decent average burgers. Not gourmet but not fast food. I was expecting more but worth a try if you're in the area.

STILL GOOD AS EVER. Got a Medium rare burger and they even threw in some free fries, burger cooked to perfection, juicy, thick meat and a whole lot of FLAVOR. Fries are way better than anywhere you'll try in my opinion. This is a mandatory go to spot.

Roller coaster of emotions. First off and least important - the food was delicious. The onion rings were close to perfect. Secondly, and far more important. Timeline:Bring burger home. Unwrap. Get upset with myself for not asking for ranch/other condiments. Eat said burger and fries/onion rings with the side of ketchup I asked for. Burger was bomb. Onion rings were delicious. As stated before, that doesn't matter. While cleaning up, I reached in the bottom of the bag and found little bundle wraps of all the condiments. Beautiful. Just gorgeous. But then, I kept scrounging and found a side of ranch. Now it may not be important to you... but I didn't ask for ranch. I no longer expect ranch because, well, restaurant just don't "give out" free ranch nowadays. But Hall of Flame Burger... Oh Hall of Flame Burgers... you did it. And you know you did it. You lured me in. You teased me. And you freaking pulled through. Not cause the burger was dank or the onion rings were exquisite. It's the little things. The little things that matter. It's the ranch that matters, guys. If I could give 36 stars, I would.

Ordered in person. Got asked what temp I wanted my burgers. I said medium rare. Proceeded to sit there and watch the people who ordered after me get their burgers, while mine were sitting there getting charred. Rather than say something, I figured the cook knew what he was doing. Turns out he didn't know, since my burgers came out dry and past well done. Recommend going to Beeps or In and Out before coming here.

Unfortunately, this just didn't satisfy our burger cravings like we had hoped. Saw all the amazing reviews on Yelp and thought to give it a try. We ordered the Buzzer Beater and the Humdinger (asked for medium rare but the patties came out more medium well) and swapped out one of the fries for garlic fries. The garlic fries were just regular fries but tossed in a bit of garlic, not much difference sadly. The burger itself was okay, but personally we thought it needed a bit more salt and cheese. Not sure if it was just an odd day, but it definitely seemed to be popular as tons of people came in while we waited for our order.
