Gu-eum Cake & Bakery

Such a cute bakery right in Saratoga! Easy to get to, plenty of parking, and easy pick up for pastries and cakes. I got the sweet potato cake here and it was delicious. Not too sweet, and the perfect amount of sweet potato and cream. I need to come back here to try their other cakes!

FoodMadeleine was very disappointing. We got the strawberry one and it was dry and flavorless. Based on the other reviews, I don't think our experience was a one off incident (aka they just had a bad batch, or the flavor we picked was no good).Hojitcha cake was super well done! But it was also a tad dry (but much much better than Madeleine). Have not tried other flavors but definitely no more Madeleine.

What a hidden gem! I miss cafes in Korea where you can just sit and enjoy the ambiance and order unique flavored cakes and drinks. Came at 4:20 PM ish, and two of the four tables were taken. A handful of baked goods left, so I got a goguma cake slice to go and a dalgona latte and Jeju green tea latte. Both lattes are on the sweeter side, but I really liked them both! Service, ambiance, food, and drinks are all a hit for me. I want to make this my regular go-to spot for a drink and small sweet bite!

This review is about raspberry pistachio cake. The slice of cake looks nice but the taste was underwhelming. Cake part was dense and did not exhibit softness you expect from a well crafted cake. Raspberry tasted like plain jar jam. Pistachio flavor was non existent. At $13 price, I expected a lot more than this.

A cute little bakery serving up classic Korean flavors with a twist in their baked goods and delicious drinks! Stopped in for a little treat for the colder weather, a Goguma Latte and a Sweet Potato financier. Took home Injeolmi Crumble Cake, Sweet Corn Cheesecake as well as a Lemon Lime and Matcha Madeleines to share.The Goguma Latte is a good non-coffee choice, very thick and warming. I always associate sweet potato with cooler weather so this was very comforting. The financier was delicious as well with pieces of sweet potato on top, nice and moist, lightly sweet and a slightly crisp exterior. The best compliment I can give for everything I was able to try from here is that everything here is "not too sweet". You can really taste the flavors of what they are described as whether it is a sweet creamy corn in the cheesecake or the bright, citrus in the lemon lime madeleines. The shop itself is pretty small so not much seating, but does have a few tables for guests. Very minimal and aesthetic inside. Great place for more Korean flavors and not overly sweet desserts/treats.

This is my go-to place to get birthday cakes for friends and family! I've been going here for a year now, and their cake is reasonably priced. Perfect for Asian taste buds, since it's not too sweet or creamy. If you're looking for a bakery for a casual outing with friends, they also sell coffee and cakes by the slices. My favorites are the injeolmi, sesame, and matcha cake. Just be aware, they have limited seating.

I wanted some cake after getting drinks at Cere tea so we just walked over. We ordered the Hojicha black sesame cake slice and yam cake slice. Both cakes were fluffy and airy with a good balance between cake and cream. The Hojicha black sesame cake left something to be desired as although it was a good cake, if you didn't tell me the flavor, I would have just guessed it was a normal vanilla cake. I barely got any hint of Hojicha and maybe some black sesame? The yam cake slice was much more dense as there were layers of yam purée as well as layers of cream. I enjoyed this one a lot as you can actually taste the sweet yam. My only complaint as it was kinda dense and it makes you feel "tired" after finishing half the slice. Overall, very good technique for the cakes but maybe the flavors could go a bit further.

Love this little korean style bakery and cafe in saratoga.All the cakes have interesting and seasonal asian flavors and are adequately priced. It's cheap if you compare it to other Korean brand name like Paris baguette.What I really liked is the variety, feels like I want to keep coming back to try everything they offer. Not at all sweetThe goguma latte ( sweet potato ) latter felt like a warm hug during the cold winter and I recommend it if you like drinks like that.Everything is made fresh daily, so check out their Instagram to know what cakes are being offered day off.Definitely the best patisserie in the bay area. It's not at all crowded so that's a huge win too.

This a cute bakery! They have a good selection of baked goods and so many things I wanted to try. The staff is really kind and they make sure you been helped. The black sesame latte with oat milk is delicious! I'm definitely coming back for more !

Really cute, yummy, and cozy cafe! All of the pastries and cakes are so aesthetic! I really enjoyed all of the pastries I tried, which were the injeolmi crumble cake, earl grey madeleine, and the blueberry yogurt cake. The cakes are light and fluffy and all of the flavors are lightly sweet and very delicious! I also had the black sesame latte which was very delicious! I loved the nutty sesame flavor in the latte and I really enjoyed that it wasn't a sweet latte.There are a few small tables in the shop, but aside from that, I saw that most people take their orders to go.
