This place is very special to me. In the 70's my dad lived above this bar and worked below in the bar. It is the only physical connection that I have of my father. I live on the East Coast and have always wanted to be here for years. Well we did it. We came here on what would have been my dads 100th birthday just to have that beer and share his space. Truly a personal bucket item. So you may ask "what does this have to do with the current business?". You must understand the level of anxiety I had for years before coming here let alone that day. So the two people working the bar were so welcoming and made my experience a lot more comfortable for me. Great guys (Ryan and Doc). My anxiety was quickly washed away. Now it's a small little place and the parking (for now) can be a bit challenging but they just started renovating. New kitchen equipment, brand new floor and new taps getting installed. If you LOVE a cozy little bar with great service and ice cold drinks then here you are. This place has been here for many many years and there is a good reason it still stands.Good or bad this little place will always be a very special spot for me and I am extremely proud to add that there was not a bad thing about it.

If you need a tall drink, go see Ron. You won't be disappointed. And if you are, well then you don't belong anywhere near a fine establishment such as this one.

This is what you call a dive bar and i love those types of places. So i stopped in for a drink at this place to check it out and really had a good time. I have to say its the real deal its 103 years old what more can i say

Love this spot, my Dad, my grandmother, grandfather used to come here... the people are friendly and the owner/bartender is a great guy...this place is a small neighborhood getaway bar...

Ms Lee is the shit. Drinks are chill. Everyone is chill. Came here from Sacramento and just stopped in. Happy that we did.

You might miss this place if you weren't specifically looking for it, especially when driving South on El Camino Real. The BEER was cold and reasonably priced, the staff were reasonably friendly as well.This is the kind of place George THorogood might hang out at. Customers are generally locals and regulars who are friendly enough, but I'm sure would make unseasoned out of place tourists feel uncomfortable.I went here because it was recommended by a local friend, and it gave me the feeling I get at MY local hang out a thousand miles away. If you're the right type this joint can be a welcomed escape from the overly touristy bay area.This place is not on my recommend OR my avoid list. It just simply is what it is.CHEERS :)

Wrapping up the northern part of the Tour de El Camino (go to every Elco bar), what's up with all these bars not having anything on tap and just all bottles? I ask the bartender what kinda beers he's got and he mumbles a few things, mostly all domestics and I didn't order anything but being the pushy barkeep he is, just orders up a blue moon for me anyways. No food here either, but they do have whoppers at BK down the block. It's mostly a sports centered ssf watering hole with a few cool niner Montana clippings, ahh the good ol days when the niners were good. Anyways, quite the interesting crowd here. This guy at the end of the bar was just slammed yelling at the tv where it showed the news and when Diane Feinstein came on he was just yelling at the top of his lungs that she was previously a man. Whoa! That's the cue to go play some pool on their minature sized table. Kinda bizarre but the rest of the tables/chairs in the bar are a little bit smaller than usual.

The bar is very cute and very clean also from the early evening time I went it was very calm. I usually prefer this over loud and crowded spaces because of my anxiousness; I tend to drink more when I'm super stimulated. I ordered a double of the Toki Japanese whiskey for $11 each shot which is standard for me especially for a higher end whiskey like that. Service was great the bartender at shift is always working on something which shows the merit and pride is there. If you're looking for a fun bar/dj situation go somewhere else but if you want something cozy, clean, and adaptable to parties or groups definitely come here.**update even the bathroom is clean with the little blue stuff in the toilet water. Props because they obviously treat this like their home I love it.***and they have handicap tables.****in the later evening they play music 20/10*****the manger is super responsive to things for men and women at this bar equally excellent hospitality it's been my go to since

I was there because the reviews and story of this place. Management changes and this is not historical anymore this is a very simple bar with limited selection but super expensive! A Bloody Mary $18 I am really surprised... for this price at least you are looking for some ambiance not a super simple bar.
