El Pata Salada

Such friendly service and such authentic yummy food! El Pata Salada had been on my radar for a long while since my husband's favorite ethnic cuisine is Mexican and mine is Sushi. I actually think there are so few reviews for this place because much of their clientele may not speak English. This is a place where families come to eat the food of their culture. Our waitress actually didn't speak English, but was so patient with our broken Spanish. We came on Valentine's Day since we decided we wanted a less upscale meal this year. Both our dinner and the space made us feel like we were actually in Mexico instead of East Palo Alto. We're already looking forward to a return in warmer weather to check out their attractive patio, but the inside felt like a Mexican neighborhood bar with very fresh seafood and decent tequila-based cocktails . Muy bien!

Review is on to go! In a small plaza with limited free parking. Inside is very dive bar vibes Decent carne asada burrito portion for $12 :) Pepino con limon was great for $6 :)Happy camper all around.

Chill atmosphere, great music, and excellent seafood!We tried the spicy grilled shrimp, fried fish tacos, and chicken/ beef tacos. The shrimp was excellent, grilled perfectly with a kick. The fish tacos were good too, they came with avocado ,Our unexpected favorite was the sliced mango, orange, and cucumber appetizer! Brought up back to Mexico. Our waiter was super sweet! Patiently explaining each to us, and offering us extra mango slices when requested. We will be back!

Really good find by my friend. First time here and we feel like we went to Mexico. Authentic food, friendly service and you get fresh mango and cucumber as a welcome. Yum. We had prawn michelado, fish tacos and chicken/beef class tacos. All good. Large indoor and outdoor seating. The male host speaks English well enough. Overall recommend.

Definitely the best Mexican food in EPA hands down. Personally I like the burritos (rice inside is a white rice with veggies) Sushi Divorciados (asada with shrimp) and the tacos *capiados (breaded shrimp). Price point isn't bad considering there's no good Mexican food. Salsa de aceite is . If you eat inside I like the fact that they bring you some cut up fruit with chile as you wait. They won't give you a cup of water. You have to buy a water bottle. Overall good food. Parking sucks.

we stayed at the patio with our dog. The birria is generous. So we ordered a taco capeado and a ondeado. We got a michelada too. hi i'm They were all tasty and abundant. The food is not typical texmex but is also available.

Second time here great service once again. Food was delicious, ambience exactly what it's supposed to be.

First time here with my friend after hearing and seeing the posts on other social media! Have ti say this is one must go place on a weekend afternoon for drinks and food. Place is small but has a fair number of seatings and tables. Parking can be a bit hard to find as it is located in a tiny parking lot area.Service is amazing along with the food options. Self seating and the servers are very attentive explaining everything on the menu and so nice.The drinks and micheladas are no joke! We didnt realize the the barrel drink we ordered were huge and definitely worth $20!The menu has endless options from seafood to even sushi!!!The Camarones Michelados were absolutely delicious! A real must try if you are planning on eating. Probable the best shrimp I have ever tasted and they're huge! I would definitely come back!
