Casual beer hall type of restaurant. Servers are very friendly and leave you alone like in Germany. They have plenty of good beers to choose from.I tried the sauerbraten and the gravy was excellent but the meat was a little dry. Probably could have used some more time. The red cabbage was perfect and the dumplings were more like potatoes than the traditional style. Still very good. The Döner sandwich needed some more salad or vegetables and was good. I really liked the Black Forest cake we took to go. Good restaurant with a lot of local influences but still German.

Spacious, vibrant vibe, with variety of German dishes - but the tables and menu booklets were a bit dirty. Their beer price was relatively reasonable, and also had two non alcoholic beer options! (It's a bottled one)We tried the German pork feet dish called Schweinshaxe which came with sauerkraut, grilled polenta, and sauce. The portion was HUGE. The meat was marinated well but some parts were rather tough and dry, difficult to eat. It does give you a festive vibe just by its visual. Salad with grilled lamb was okay, generic but delicious enough.

Das Bierhauz generally was pretty good. Their food portions were really big. We ordered a gyro salad and a pork hock, easily a 4 person meal. The pork hock was good. Generally pretty well cooked but parts can be a tad dry and tough. Gyro salad is what you would expect. They have a good German beer selection to choose from but also two NA beers as well. Service was nice and atmosphere is generally cozy.

FAHRVERGNUGEN! Drive on down to Redwood City for some pretty tasty pub grub schnitzel! Authentic German pub here and I believe Oktoberfest is in full swing right now, too. They've been here a while and I've always wanted to try them and finally did. Swift service for dinner rush hour and hearty portions! They have a kids menu. The happy hour menu has prices slashed a bit on foods and drinks, 15% and 25% respectively. Very unique cuisine for the area. For starters, I ordered the Schnelle Nodelsuppe, chicken noodle soup with toasted pretzel roll, very delicious and homemade. Do not expect big noodles, their version, teeny tiny noodles I didn't even realize they were there! It's super good though. It reminds me of my Mom's homemade chicken noodle soup. The entree I ordered, Jeager-Schnitzel, pork schnitzel served with spaetzle. Wow, prepare for some serious comfort food! The schnitzel is topped with a creamy mushroom sauce which compliments the schnitzel nicely. You can ask without sauce or on the side, if you prefer. Spaetzle is creamy and cheesy goodness, somewhat like the German version of mac n cheese. All accompanied with a small side of macerated Lingonberries. For the portions you receive, the cost is accurate. They have a big menu with something for everyone. Very authentic and super tasty, please give them a try if you haven't already. I will definitely return!

My Hoppy PlaceThe original Oktoberfest, held in 1810, was meant to be a one-time affair, a celebration of the marriage of Prince Ludwig I to Princess Theresa of Saxe-Hildburghausen. The citizens (a.k.a. burghers) of Munich celebrated for five full days in front of the city gates and indulged in drink, food, parades and music. Such a good time was had by all that they've been holding the fête every year since, excluding years of war a few cholera epidemics here and there--but let's not go there.Despite my laissez-faire demeanor, I do love me some traditions--especially when food and drink are involved. So every year we try and find us a nice German joint to celebrate Oktoberfest and this year's wheel fell on Das Bierhauz's newish DTRWC location, with the original being in DT Mountain View. The Good:*Huge dog-friendly bïergarten (outdoor space)*Friendly service*Twenty German beers on draught*Order and pay via QR Code, or if you're more of a traditionalist you can order inside at the counter. *DT RWC is very underrated and more laidback than most places. *German Beef Rouladen was excellent! The beef was nice and tender and filled with bacon, mustard, pickles and onions and topped with a luscious beef gravy that had my wanting more. The coconcomitant Rotkohl (German Red Cabbage) was also quite tasty. The Meh:*The Käsespätzlee Gratin was good and kid of a German Mac and Cheese. Be sure to order it with the caramelized onions to help give it a little boost otherwise it can be a little one note.*We were really looking fwd to the German Potato Dumplings, but they were incredibly stodgy and difficult to eat after just a few bites. This was our first time trying these, so I'm not sure if that's how they're supposed to be or just visited on an off day? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯*Parking can be challenging here, as there's street parking and a large municipal run garage nearby. Either way be prepared to pay, as RwC doesn't do the whole free parking on Sundays thing. The Ugly:.*Salmon on "Salmon Salat" was dry and overcooked. Conclusion: Great atmosphere, nice selection of beer, but the food was hit-or-miss.

Good for groups. Detailed breakdown below:**Service, 5/5** Order on your phone which makes it easy to split checks, but there isn't much interaction with staff at all. Tons of both indoor and outdoor seating which make it ideal for larger groups.**Taste of the food, 4/5** I got the spaetzle (essentially German "mac n cheese") and it was very middle of the road. While the portion size is solid, the bowl felt pretty one-note. I'm glad I tried it but will try other items on the menu before I order this one again.

Have made this a local spot for beer, wine, football and board games. Absolutely love coming here. Great atmosphere and great service. Everyone is so kind. Many TVs to watch sports on. There's also outdoor seating with heaters. The food is okay -- it's cooked well but the type of food is too bland for me, lacking flavor despite still ordering food almost every time I come. I just love coming. I love the self service to order but also the option to order with someone.Highly recommend
