Claire's Crunch Cake

I'm a pie guy. For my birthday I want pie. Well not after having one of Claire's cakes, her mocha cake specifically. I took one to a friend's dinner party. I had planned to pick it up the day before but Claire admonished me that I should pick up the cake as close to when I was going to consume it as possible.The texture is as if an angel food cake had a baby with a pound cake. Much like trying to describe how an artichoke tastes to someone who has never had one. Her cake texture is divine. The crumble is sweet, but not sweet, soft, but not soft. My advice is to try one.

Claire's Crunch Cake has been at the top of our sweet treats list for years! 1. The most delicious crunch cake. Period. We've picked up cakes for birthdays, any excuse for a celebration, dinner parties, and always when out of town friends come over and have not experienced Claire's tasty cakes. 2. Easy, convenient, consistent, did I mention delicious? Pure deliciousness is a phone call away. You have to plan ahead a little, but it's totally worth it. Check the website for hours/availability. 3. Our favorite is the coffee crunch. The strawberry crunch is just as delicious. But definitely the coffee crunch cake.

A pleasant surprise on a birthday. The caramel is a bit bitter while the cake inside was soft and not too sweet, which suits me well.

I've always wanted to try this cake. I've seen so many reviews on various forums about Claire's crunch cake. I ordered it on Friday for a birthday dinner and it was amazing! We all enjoyed it so much. It was delicious. The crunch was perfect and the cake was not overly sweet. I will definitely come back and try the strawberry or lemon crunch cake. Thank you, Claire!

I ordered the 6" Mocha Crunch Cake ($30) and everyone loved it. Good size for a party of 8 to each sample a slice. The best part are the crunchy bits! She only accepts phone calls but right at 5:00PM they stop answering so be sure to call on time. Luckily she was able to accept my order with a 1-day notice. Pick-up is at her house and there are usually parking spots in the residential area. She's very direct and doesn't do small talk. I asked if it needed to be refrigerated and she said bluntly, "It's on the box."

First off, I didn't purchase the strawberry crunch cake myself but got to enjoy a slice during a celebration. The cake was super moist, fluffy and perfectly sweetened. I'm bookmarking this place to order a cake (or two) for a future celebration. I hear Claire's sometimes offer cobblers, puddings, seasonal pies and things. An 8" cake will run you around $50 so yes, they're to make those special occasions even more special.

Called 2 days ahead to place an order for a 6" strawberry crunch cake.The homemade cake lived up to the hype! Moist texture of the sponge cake, strawberries were sweet and fresh, good ratio of cream to cake, and the perfect crunch on top. It wasn't too sweet which was great. It was the perfect size for our small group. Feeds about 8 slices. The man who handed me the cake was so nice and gave me great care instructions to refrigerate and how to best serve :) The place is in a residential area with street parking only. Cash only.

I read about Claire's Crunch Cake and had planned to try a cake for a while. My brother had a major birthday approaching so we decided to order a strawberry crunch cake. Also, a friend of the family had me pick-up a Lemon Crunch Cake. We usually get our crunch cake from Yasukochi's in San Francisco's Japantown.Claire's crunch card is a little denser than the cake at Yasukichi's. The cake is good with big pieces of strawberries. The whipped cream is light and sweet. Overall, a different cake but very good.Our friend thought the lemon crunch cake was a bit dense and the lemon did not taste as fresh as a homemade filling. I tried a piece and I thought it was good (not as good as the one from Yasukichi but I liked it). Claire's is in a convenient location with easy parking. Claire is very nice and offers a variety of crunch cakes. For a good crunch cake from a very nice lady, order a cake from Claire's Crunch Cake.Don't order on-line, I think the price is higher. Call and place your order, bring cash.

Ordered a strawberry crunch cake from Claire's to go for a dinner potluck with friends and got some mixed reviews. Some people really loved it, but I wasn't a fan. The flavor seemed a bit off to me, like the strawberry was a little artificial or maybe a weird combo with the crunchy pieces? But the cake part itself was really lovely - soft and fluffy! My other friends really enjoyed it though so it is possible I was having an off day or they were being nice since I brought it. Either way, I think I'd try a different flavor next time even though strawberry seems to be their most popular!

Ive been seeing their beautiful cake from birthday party's and ive been wanting to try. Yes its cute and beautiful.. the crunchy is very good, has caramel? Toffee taste to it but i wasnt impressed with the cake. They only take cash too. Lady was polite.. hand you the cake and pay and thats it.
