Not sure if it is just a bad day, but all of my food had ZERO SALT. Ordered a chile verde burrito, there was ZERO FLAVOR.... uggh! Beans - zero flavor, rice zero flavor, chile verde - ZERO flavor - meat was dry.Really wanted to love it!

Great little shop/food spot got a good variety of items like a mini grocery store, hot Mexican dishes and their burger is highly recommended! Good customer service with multiple ladies behind the counter for a quick in and out if you're in a rush. Standing room for eating only.

I go twice a year to buy dough for tamales. There customer service is not good, they look very overwhelmed. They actually never greet you when you come into the store. It's a whole in the wall, but dough they make is the best in town.

First off, I love supporting small family-owned businesses. I was in the area and wanted to pick up Starbucks (in a can) and stopped in. At first glance, it looks like a neighborhood liquor store but it isn't! In fact, they only sell beer in terms of alcohol. It's a full market. You could literally stop in and get everything you need for a BBQ or a home cooked meal. There are fresh meats like beef, chicken, and pork. There's produce, spices and traditional herbs, milk, charcoal, rice, tortillas -- it goes on and on. They even carry hygienic and in-house supplies (detergent, shampoo, feminine products, etc.).The best part - the nice lady has a whole "hot plate" menu set up. You can order tamales and hot lunches on-the-go.If you're in the neighborhood and need to do a "grocery run" -- skip Target and stop here!

The World According to NoelleAllergic Girl's Guide to LifeWhile shopping at Mi Pueblo Market nearby someone suggested I go to Cal Foods for masa in regards to my tamale making. So my hubby and I trekked out to Cal Foods. Do note the parking is super difficult in this particular area. We were able to score parking right next to the store (most of the parking in the area is permit only parking). As someone who has traveled to Mexico- this looks like your a-typical Mexican Carniceria (meat market). When my hubby and I first walked into Cal Foods we couldn't help but notice the most wonderful smell of Mexican food cooking. Their current menu offers burritos and tortas (mexican sandwiches) - there are no other items on the small menu. We ordered a pork chile verde burrito and it was freaking amazing- perfectly seasoned melt in your mouth delicious. We came here in December 2010 and picked up the masa which they sell in ten pound bags (it was hot and freshly made). We also purchased the most amazing burrito and coke (in a bottle from Mexico) and cajeta candy (caramel candy). When you enter you'll think its your average corner store but its not- with close inspection you will see many canned grocery items from Mexico. In the back of the store is the Carniceria which is uber clean in a rather large case holding the freshest cuts of meats (chicken, pork and beef).Customer service is friendly and the store is clean. The only drawback is the lack of parking.Noelle's NotesAuthentic Mexican Carniceria & Market.

This is the best place to order and buy fresh masa!! We have a family tradition, every Christmas we make a massive amount of tamales. This is the ONLY place I every buy my masa, it's warm, flavorful and ready to spread on corn husks. Stop buying the grocery store masa, and try this place! You'll love it!

It was a double cheese burger; So juicy filled with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, bacon also a sauce. I devoured it like never before!! I highly recommend it. Can't wait to order again.
