Caffe Stellato

While I usually do not do well with dairy, I would make an exception for the gelato at Caffe Stellato. I've had this place on my bucket list for quite some time, but it wasn't until yesterday that my boyfriend and I were finally able to try some of their gelato. (Note: they also sell Italian sandwiches, and their shop is filled with really cool sweets and candies!) Their gelato case had tons of flavors - both conventional and unique (think halo halo, ube, and black sesame). What I love is that Caffe Stellato also has a wide selection of vegan/dairy-free flavors! Customers are only allowed 2 samples. While I wish they allowed more, 2 samples was enough for us to decide on their espresso flavor. This was a very memorable gelato. The espresso was the star of the show. We only needed to share a scoop to feel really satisfied. My only criticism is to offer more samples! But overall a really tasty gelato shop.

This is a cool deli located in Burlingame. It does feel a little old timey inside. They have a sandwich station as well as a gelato station. I will have to try the gelato at another time!We ordered a hot Mafioso sandwich and brought it back to eat at home. I overall thought the sandwich was pretty good. The ingredients were: "Prosciutto di Parma, turkey, Italian mortadella and (pancetta) bacon with works." The quality of the ingredients felt fresh and high quality and the bread tasted good too. The sandwich was a little on the pricey side ($17+tax/any tip) but it was large enough to feed two people.I would come back to try their other sandwiches and gelato.

Already had two bad experiences in 2025 and won't be coming back. Which is sad because I think their pistachio gelato is the best and was putting up with rude service for it. Unfortunately the other flavors I have gotten have been a miss. Visit 1: Came with young children, paid for their scoops and got them settled in seats and then this mama was excited about her turn. Went back to get a scoop and the gentleman visibly sighed in exasperation to my face ( because he had to put new gloves on? )Visit 2: Got schooled on "1 taste per person" on asking for a second flavor taste. The gentleman argued that the rules were made by management but I assume the rudeness is not a management requirement - no smile or greetings , lack of eye contact while mumbling ' one taste' and walking away while I stood there.Getting Gelato should make you feel happy not annoyed.To the management - Get a fun sign or something if you want to impose the one taste per person rule so that ppl are not surprised.

The Caffe Stellato is an unassuming little cafe/deli/grocery store. They literally have one tiny table and two chairs for customers. Service was excellent, but I only got one cup of gelato. You wouldn't expect much drama there, right? (I'm talking to you, Eataly)Anyway the gelato is amazing. We got the mocha chip and black sesame. Both were dense, thick and had excellent depth of flavor. Everything tasted like it was actually sourced from the item it was labeled as. They also have lots of esoteric candies for sale and a full espresso bar.

We just got back from Rome and were hanging for gelato. Quick search of Yelp and a random pick close to our destination brought up Caffe Stellato. Oh my goodness! Over 60 choices? It's all too much. We chose two kinds and got a scoop each. Staff was so nice and attentive. The place is clean and beautifully presented. Gelato was amazing! Just go! Deli and snacks and Italian food items. Forgot photo, too busy eating lol

Sandwiches, crepes, gelato, a mini market, friendly service. Nice little pit stop shop.Got a scoop of the Espresso gelato... 5/5 stars! Would come back again!

My visit to Caffe Stellato left me pleasantly surprised with its fresh and flavorful offerings. Opting for the petto di pollo sandwich, I found the combination of ingredients on Dutch crunch bread to be a delightful combination of textures and flavors. However, the only downside was the lack of meat, leaving me craving for more.In addition to the sandwich, I indulged in some snacks, including truffle potato chips and a bag of chamoy flavored dry freeze Skittles, which added a unique twist to the dining experience.While the portion of meat in the sandwich was lacking, the overall quality and taste were impressive, leaving me eager to return and sample other popular sandwiches on the menu.Overall, Caffe Stellato offers a promising culinary experience with fresh ingredients and flavorful combinations, making it a destination worth revisiting for more delicious sandwiches and snacks.

I absolutely love this place...it's like a little Italy in one shop. They have everything from gelato and snacks to sandwiches. The gelato is incredibly creamy with so many unique flavors to choose from. I have yet to try the sandwiches but I'll definitely be back for more.

So Fresh. So Flavorful. So Velvety (is there a synonym starting with the letter f?).I tried the gelato -- it was a generous portion, at a good price, and very tasty. They told me it is all made by an Italian chef in SF.They were super nice, case in point there was a small error in my order so they offered an off-menu cannoli. Who I am to say no to a cannoli? Also went ahead and covered their cost, adding a tip, to recognize a good / local / new business.

Best cafe of all time, the owners are great, and so is the staff, the food is all so delicious.
