"Rec Room is easily one of the best bars in Downtown SJ for a night out on the town. But have you considered them for their Sunday brunch menu? Here's what we recommend: ++ Breakfast Billionaire Burgersunny side up egg * arugula * billionaire bacon * american cheese++ Strawberry French Toastcreme anglaise * maple syrup++ Breakfast Totsred bell pepper * sauteed red onion * ranchero sauce * crema++ Ube Pancakesshaved coconut * ube coconut drizzle * macadamia nut++ Chilaquilesranchero sauce * pickled red onion * mexicana crema * sunny side up egg * cotija cheese++ Avocado Toastqueso fresco * roma tomatoes * basilFor my bacon lovers is highly recommend getting a side of their billionaire bacon! It's spiced up and a great addition to any of the dishes! Don't forget to add a mimosa if you're feeling tipsy! Beautiful outdoor patio on the side of the building! Dog friendly establishment. Follow my food instagram for more Bay Area recommendations! @duyoufeelhungry"
"The place has craft cocktails, and it's open late. The front room has very swanky speakeasy decor. I tried one drink:4.5/5: The Swashbuckler is good and boozy: Blended scotch, Laphroaig, Drambuie, Licor 43, Etrog citrus liqueur, Kina $18.On Saturday, they have live music 8-11 in a very intimate separate room. It has great acoustics; you don't get any of the noise from the bar."

"This is quickly becoming my favourite bar in the area!Super chill vibes, everyone out just having the time of their lives, karaoke, drinks and bartenders who are super awesome! I dunno what you really want more in a bar, but those are pretty freaking awesome to me!I've been here several times already, and once I wore a crop top jacket without a shirt on, and the bouncer let me in, but later I was told to zip it up, because apparently it was a little too risque for the venue. I laughed it off, cuz it was funny having him tell me, "I'm sorry man, I didn't know you weren't wearing a shirt!" HAAAA!!Like I would ever wear a shirt."
"Ambience 5/5I love coming here to work or to have a business meeting! Plenty of parking (can get busy during the day), plenty of outlets/plugs, and it's divided into a cafe, lunch area, and lounge type deal depending on what time of day you come. People pretty much come here and mind their own business or walk in from the surrounding biotech/tech companies for lunch or happy hour. Food 5/5The lattes are yummy and reasonable priced - $5-6. I've also had a sandwich with a side salad and a salad and they're reasonable for the bay :) and quite tasty! Also once tried the wings and fries which were yummy.Service 4/5I enjoy it cause no one really bothers you if you're just working :) if you want food, people are attentive if you're at the lounge.Lunch area and cafe are walk up to purchase Overall, highly recommend! Plenty of EV charger around the area too!"
"Lower your expectations. Or actually, don't. Because you may be pleasantly surprised (or spoiled) by the fact that if you order a bourbon or other shot on the rocks, trust that Louie or any of the other bartenders will happily pour you the most generous drink you've ever been served in a long time. No joke. They will take care of you and $20 will easily cover your drinks for a while. Amazing. Don't ever change, Surf Lounge. You're something special!"
"Awe yes, this place was the beginning of a wild night and a VERY rough Friday, ha! Here we go.We had started the night off at a different dive bar. Can't remember the name and it's not just because I was wasted, but that definitely ain't helping the situation! Anyway, got a pitcher there, chilled, moved on to good ol' Hyde Park Lounge.Grabbed another pitcher, Elysian Spacedust (not coke) probably. We're in the back on the patio, just me'n'mah boi hanging out. Funny enough, we saw several people this bar who migrated from the same bar that we just came from. One of the gentleman and my friend hit it off, and as we're hanging out in the back, I see the bar lady bringing a pitcher out toward us. No one's out there, just us, and I freaking IMMEDIATELY knew that dude was gonna be the death of us. So now we're 3 pitchers of Spacedust in and things are getting fuzzy. Then the shots start rolling in. Oh Jame-O, you dirty dingo. Well, that's pretty much when things started getting real blurry and funny stories were to be told come the morning, along with the pounding headache. Lovely.Anyway, it's a dive bar, bruh, if you have high expectations, maybe you oughtta stick to your bougie places cuz this ain't one of 'em! Awesome people, though, if you have an open mind.So let's get it, baby! Next round's on me ^_____^"
"Came here for NYE dinner with a friend. We both ordered the prime rib. I let the waitress know that I also wanted to order something to-go, but that I would tell her later in the evening. She insisted I tell her now and she'd take care of it, and so I did. We were quickly served bread, and our food followed shortly after. The bread comes with a side of butter and balsamic+oil. The prime rib and the accompanying side dishes were perfectly cooked. The prime rib paired with the au jus was *chef's kiss*. For dessert, I ordered the famous mud pie, while my friend ordered the crème brûlée. The mud pie was okay. I was disappointed there wasn't a thicker crust. It was essentially a large plate of ice cream with whipped cream and fudge. The creme brûlée was also okay. It was made with white chocolate and would've been more well-balanced if it came with more fruit. Now here is the kicker. We get the bill and notice the to-go order was not on it. I tell our waitress and she goes to get it fixed. Well, it turns out she completely forgot to place the order and by then, the kitchen had already closed down. This is why I initially said i would personally let her know about my to-go item later, but she insisted I tell her at the beginning. Aside from a simple apology, there was no other attempt at service recovery. That food was meant to be a NYE meal for someone who now had to ring in the new year on an empty stomach. Not to mention, by that hour, it was impossible for me to find an appropriate alternative elsewhere. The food is good, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. I will not be coming back a second time."
"Excellent service best French fries in the world! The sliders wer also amazing fast friendly and accommodating service ."
"Not sure if I would be too into the crowds and music here on the weekend. But my mid-week visit was fun and chill. RubberSoul (hip hop, soul, and rnb) is apparently on Wed nights... think music like Paperboy's Ditty (yes, that one made my night!) The drinks were strong, the bartenders and DJ's were friendly, the crowd was carefree, respectful, and just having a good time... not overbearing in numbers, but not dead and empty, which is a great balance. The place was clean, with cool colored lighting, comfy lounge seating in the back (though barely used on a Wed night), and a small dance area with a couple TV screens.Great spot to enjoy a couple drinks and some good music, especially on a Wed (for me), where I got to enjoy some old school hits in beautiful downtown Campbell :)"
"Went for an evening with friends to hangout and play games. Had the famous Eli's lemon pepper signature wings with handmade ranch. Meet the owner she was super sweet and did an amazing job remodeling the place. Definitely recommend for date night or girls night!"
"The pan-seared Chilean sea bass was beautifully flavorful. The service was attentive, especially considering how busy the restaurant was. I asked the waitress for a tropical and fruity alcoholic beverage recommendation. She suggested the Passionfruit Caipirinha, which sounded delightful as I love passionfruit. While the drink seemed very well made, it tasted more like a margarita (don't like margaritas it tastes like drinking salt to me even without the salt on the rim) with a subtle hint of passionfruit, which isn't to my taste.I'm glad to have discovered INDO, tucked away just off El Camino. I look forward to returning for the wonderful food."
"Being a poker player from Canada, I was really impressed by this casino. Maybe it's because all the rooms in Canada are terrible, but this was the best poker room I've ever been to. The dealers are very fast and rarely make mistakes. Table service was great and I even had food from here as well. The action was amazing here, way better than Vegas. Though you don't get things like free drinks or any comps, it is the best run casino I've been to personally."

I checked out Rec Room for dinner during Happy Hour and the food here was top-notch and amazing! Instant good vibes upon arrival seeing the cool bright red RECROOM signage in front, and when you enter there are lots of hip décor and a spacious back patio to hang out.For my entrée, I got the Rec Room Burger and added bacon. The bun was perfectly buttered and soft, high-quality burger patty tasted moist and delicious, billionaire bacon was thick, sweet, and savory, and the gorgonzola was creamy, funky, and so delicious. Each bite tasted heavenly! The Rec Room Burger was one of the best burgers I've tasted in SJ in a while. I also ordered the Truffle Fries, Elote Fritters, and Brussel Sprouts. They all tasted great, but the Truffle Fries stood out to me most. The fries cut was uniquely shaped and super crisp. It was perfectly seasoned, got the perfect amount of pungent and earthy truffle oil, and so darn addicting! Finally, I couldn't dine here without checking out the Como La Flor signature drink. The subtle spice from the jalapeno tequila stood out and I loved how strong tasting the drink was and it wasn't overly sweet. Very enjoyable!I can't wait to go back to try their amazing-looking brunch menu!!!

Amandine has a great vibe! It's not a speakeasy but I like that dim light atmosphere, the nice furniture and the decoration. They do interesting and elaborate cocktails.

Love the vibe and ambiance at 7 Bamboo. Has great vibes and love that they do karaoke during the week. The bartender was friendly and was willing to make drinks that were not on the menu. It was clean and plenty of space for seating. Parking was easy to find as it was during the week. Highly recommend if you want to enjoy a low key night with karaoke.

I've been coming here for years as I work nearby and it's one of very few dining spots in this area. The space is quite large and is great for hosting events. In the day time, the cafe and main dining area are open. In the afternoon/early evening, the other side opens which features a small bowling area with 2 lanes, a pool table, bar area with tables, and outdoor patio.Cafe - I highly recommend the lavender latte! This is hands down my favorite coffee from F&L. The cafe area has plenty of seating and plugs, so it's great for catching up in-person or working remotely on your laptop. The cafe also offers juices, pastries, Boichik bagels and breakfast burritos.Lunch - I don't have lunch regularly here but have enjoyed the fried chicken plate and BLT, which I believe are occasional specials. The F&L burger is also decent.Happy Hour - I like their crispy brussels and fries the best, but the lumpia is also good and surprisingly authentic!

If you love dive bars, there's so much to love about Surf Lounge! We were waiting for a table at a hot pot place next door, and it was 1.5hr wait, so we decided to do a little pregame at Surf Lounge. This cash-only spot definitely has a locals feel to it with plenty of seating inside and a bigger patio out back that allows for dogs on leash. They've got plenty of TVs inside and out, so you can watch your favorite sports team. The best part about this spot is how cheap the beers and seltzers were. Topo chico hard seltzers, $5. Modelos, $5. Those are great prices for 2024! The staff here was all really kind and we felt very welcomed. Such an underrated spot and will definitely be back next time we have dinner in the area. They have an ATM inside, but if you walk across the street towards the Safeway, there's a Wells Fargo or Bank of America ATM machines.

Came here for happy hour to celebrate a birthday. Tried the filet mignon spring rolls as part of the happy hour, and the award-winning 10oz prime rib which came with a small portion of veggies and a side. The spring rolls were decent, but quite heavy and left behind a bitter fried-oil aftertaste. came with some sort of dipping soy sauce that was good but on the saltier sideFor the price, I expected the prime rib to be much more tender and juicy. The vegetables and side dish were smaller than we expected and didn't have too much flavor. The au jus was saltier than I was used to. We asked our waitress but it seems the restaurant also doesn't celebrate birthdays, which I didn't know and was a bit disappointed by. A good experience but would not come again

For this location being in a hotel, the food and drinks were really good. The restaurant is situated in the middle of the lobby area of the Signia by Hilton Hotel. Parking is not easy so expect to pay for parking nearby. The sushi was surprisingly very tasty and the rice in the sushi wasn't too sweet which is good. The potstickers were my favorite. They were very well steamed and had a nice sauce on top. The bao had almost like a sauced chicken tender which was new to me. However the veggies in the bao made it taste moist and flavorful. The drinks were really well made. The colors in the drinks were so pretty! One even had a bubble on it. The lychee martini however was my favorite! The service was friendly however it did take a while for the drinks to come out.

"Most amazing bartenders ever! Especially Coco! She makes everyone so comfortable and happy! I'm stoked i found her and this bar!"
"Nestled in the back of hotel de anza is this little gem. A gem that needs to be talked about.A few nights ago, my co-workers and some chaps met up here to have a few drinks and unwind. It was my first time herr, and I've got to say, it is a very cozy spot. The inside is furnished with huge comfortable couches and chairs all around a fireplace. There was a live band playing some old school jazz. The bartenders and bar is well maintained and very hospitable. The lads behind the bar had all.sorts of hard alcohol to play with and a few exotic beers I've never heard of. The price for everything isn't terribly steep either. In addition, there is a beautiful patio in the back to really unwind. Overall; We really enjoyed ourselves with the live music, the great drinks and to cozy atmosphere. We'll definately be back!"
"Little divey bar in a sketchy little plaza near Valero gas station. The vibe is the after work crowd just trying to get a cold beer for cheap. Bartenders were super friendly and brought our drinks to us quickly. $2.50 for domestic beers and $5 Patron silver shots during POWER HOUR on Thursdays! $20 buckets of 6 bottles of imported beer, $15 for domestic. I really like this place I should have came here sooner."
"Location: San Jose off Almaden Rd, near 24 fitness.Ambiance and Decor: wooden panel walls, flat screen TV seen in all walls, and a new school juke box near the entry. This is the after work spot. The place where the "good fellas" would kick it around 3pm. This is where the PTA moms would come through before Service: Friendly smile. The bartender seems to know all the locals.Food: i have yet to eat here since the drinks it what I normally go for.. Drinks: they have a selection of 5 different local IPA's as well as the standard beers found in most bars. Their cocktails are well mixed especially their old fashion. During my visit I ordered a Glenfiddich 14 year and it was a deep pour. Needed to step out a few times to get my bearings straight. Overall: 5/5 totally worth the visit. Prices are inexpensive and the local crowd makes everyone feel like family."
"Amazing food prepped by Chef Nick! My family and I stumbled upon this place when we visited the renovated Biltmore hotel, now called Delta Hotels by Marriott. We had the salmon, burger, steak, pecan cheese cake, dumplings, corn bread. Everything was prepared perfectly. We also enjoyed our drinks at the bar prepared by bartender, Z! We look forward to coming back here soon!"
"Super cute new spot. Has an upstairs area, dance floor , pretty spacious. Grand opening was a pretty good turn out."
"Where do you go for dinner in downtown San Jose? We have season tickets for Broadway San Jose and come here for six performances a year at the San Jose Center for Performing Arts. Ever since 2017. Always come with a Groupon coupon.3% service fee surcharge, and only $17 off the $50 Groupon, discount good for only 60 days after you purchase it.Prices have increased greatly between 2022 and 2023, up 25% to 100%. Loved the $17 (was $12) garlic noodles but had to pay $14 (was $6) surcharge for adding five shrimp. Now the garlic noodles with shrimp is $31 (was $18). Another favorite is the $37 (was $29) flat iron steak with two prawns which were the size of shrimp. Pricey for a four-ounce piece of steak.Wife's favorite was the $46 seabass (was $38), only gripe was the portion size was four ounces, too tiny.Today she orders the $32 Ahi tuna(was $25). Not quite as fresh as in the past.I order the $12 hot and sour soup(was $6). Comes with plenty of tofu and bamboo shoots, but the hot and sour broth is yellow and not brown in color. Must have run out of the sour broth, as it is not at all sour, and unfortunately has the same color as dishwash water. The $19 yang chow fried rice came with overly salty and old tasting Chinese sausage. Sausage tasted like it had been sitting around for months. Wife ate everything off her Ahi Tuna plate except the seaweed salad, which I ate after she said it was too sour. And she's always complaining about me not eating enough vegetables."
"This is our third or fourth stay at Hotel Paradox and one of the many reasons we love it is the terrific restaurant that has poolside dining with absolutely fantastic food. Brunch, bigger-than-tapas plates perfect for a poolside nosh, s'mores that elevate the campfire experience to elegant dining. A mid-afternoon drink? I'll have a Live Oak Bramble with bourbon, lemon and local blackberries, please. It is vacation, after all. Chef de Cuisine Beto Perez puts Solaire on the map of dining spots in downtown Santa Cruz. He's crafted a menu that highlights local produce with select items that have an Asian flair. It's California cuisine with a playful and inventive twist.Even if you're not staying here, come to Solaire for a drink, brunch with friends or an elegant dinner with moonlight and the best of California in and outdoor dining in this scenic and serene spot."
"I loved the ambiance here with all their Christmas decorations. It's very cute and spacious. We were seated right away on a Saturday and the service was attentive. The jambalaya was my favorite, it had a lot of flavors and meat/veggies. The gumbo was a little salty, but still good. I wouldn't recommend the BLT chicken salad. I feel like the dressing wasn't as good as expected and the fried chicken pieces came out soggy."
"Nova fits the bill of a club in San Jose to a tee. It has a decent amount of space, bottle service with small sections for VIP folks and drinks that are a touch more expensive that they probably should be. I got there around 11:30ish, paid a cover ($20) and stood in line for about 10 minutes. Upon breaching the threshold I saw the club was around 60-70% full. Typical club behavior lol. A few folks behind me left the line due to the wait but I was meeting friends therefore I was relatively committed. I believe it was reggaeton night and although I didn't hear that as a main music type, they did sprinkle in some of the classics. The DJ was okay. They were playing a lot of the older hip hop club songs like swag surf, no hands etc. but the DJ would only play maybe 45 secs max of a song then try to mix a new song. A word to the DJs out there, if the club is vibing with a track LET IT RUN. The drinks were good and the bartenders were attentive. I didn't have a bad night but it could've been a little better but it's also a club in SJ so I'm neutral? I can't say don't check it out but I'd say bring a fun group."
"Super friendly staff! Always wanted to come here pre covid, and now that I got the time to check this place out, it turns out they're pretty chill.Bartenders Leah and Jen (Jess?) Are extremely friendly and made me feel right at home. Their good luck even made me a decent amount of cash when playing the ca hot spot lottery here every time I came! If you're missing the small town dive bar feel pre covid, then definitely hit this place up during the week nights. Small but friendly social crowd.Weekends however, its a little busy but thats to be expected huh."
"Absolutely love this new venue! It use to be called 386 lounge which was nice but this new lounge is such a beautiful upgrade! Very spacious! Nice high ceilings. I absolutely adore the chandelier in the center of the lounge. Cute seating areas. Friendly staff. Nice place for a date or to celebrarte any occasion."
"Local dive bar. Everyone is welcoming and friendly . Drinks are strong and affordable. Pool table and darts available. They have karaoke on Saturday. No DJ but they have the AMI music you can download the app and choose your own songs. Mixed crowd but mainly older .we had my friends party there and it was perfect . April the owner and her husband chuck hands on. Lee the bartender was fast and efficient even with the crowded bar he was on point . Great spot to just chill and hang out with a few friends or a group. Side note ... cash only. Definitely recommend this place ."
"Perfect for a meal before a show at the Improv. Loved the upstairs vibe as you felt away from the street grunge of San Jose. Try the red velvet drink. That was a hit at our table. I was also impressed with my ahi sashimi appetizer. The chicken salad was also enjoyed by many. One surprise, the French fries were simply plain, hot and perfect!"
"Nice place. We asked if they served food and were told they don't have a kitchen but we could bring food in. So we brought in some food from the market next door and enjoyed some cocktails with our dinner. The bartender is very friendly so for sure we'll be back! There's plenty of seating and a few sofas in the corner."
"The service wasn't bad for a large dining room area and just a couple servers. The bolognese was a bad choice. The noodles were waaaaaaaay overdone. So much so that they were broken into soggy little pieces. The sauce was very bland and there wasn't enough salt in the world that could help it. I was told the chicken quesadilla was good, although I didn't try it. The Marriott burger was said to be the best thing on the menu, but I didn't find it to be anything special. They give you a very small amount of condiments in a very small saucer. The fries were good. I asked if the kettle chips are made there, and the waitress said no, so I skipped on those. Grilled salmon was standard grilled salmon. Served with veggies and calrose rice."
"5 stars all around! The lounge is very nice and clean. The vibes are totally it. The DJ was just playing great music back to back and I really enjoyed myself the few hours I was there. Our Server/Host, Kim, is super sweet!! Hands down she is the best... she made sure to check in on us with the drinks and appetizers and made sure everything was good for us at all times. She always had a beautiful smile on her face too! Again, totally recommend this lounge!"
"Honestly had a pretty good time here. We had a reservation for 8 people and got seated at the largest dining table next to all the wine options. View is hard to see once it's dark. Menu options were simple enough! The cioppino was definitely the star dish of the night and everyone is ordering this. They have a free dessert for the birthday folks. We ordered other desserts it the chocolate cake was good, baked Alaska was alright. Service was good - not too overwhelming in our face, but was there to help. Focaccia was SO good. Unlimited as well...Would I come here again? Maybe, if you are staying at the Ritz. There aren't many options around here, so this was pretty good."
"Bf and I came here for lunch during an afternoon in Santana Row. The ambiance was upscale and calm, the service was quick, and it was easy to get a reservationHere's what we ordered:- chicken kulcha -- this kinda reminded me of the really good puffy bread from Elephante with some seasoned, ground chicken added in. It was delicious - paratha quesadillas -- this was a super creative concept and my favorite thing we ordered! - paneer / spinach ravioli with saag -- my bf loves saag so we ordered this but we didn't enjoy it too much. It felt like something was missing from the saag and the ravioli was alright, but still a cool concept I've never seen on a menu- butter chicken -- delicious, the chicken was so tender and flavorful, it was cooked well- raita -- good as well, was on the sweeter side - masala chaa -- delicious We're happy to have discovered an Indian restaurant with a great ambiance and food, and we will be back for sure!"
"Where do I begin. The food was 7/10 very salty and I'm salty gal. The atmosphere was good UNTIL the restaurant got busy then it was like being in the middle of the BUSIEST intersection, at one point during the meal I had to get up and move so the could move furniture. We bumped by the staff all night. Also when we arrived we mentioned that their map takes u to the old location.. They had the balls to challenge me on this telling that there's no way that happened, mind we were not the only people who this happened too. When we told management of our experience all we gots was we are sorry it's was are soft opening. Then that should have been mentioned when we arrived. They are trying to be like Ruth Chris they are more like Applebee's. The only thing they did like Ruth Chris was the prices. Which I have no problem paying for but I expect A+ service, food and experience this was C- at best. What made the night GREAT was the company I was in definitely NOT PorterHouse. The end"
"Our friends brought us out for the birthday weekend and we loved the atmosphere! Drinks were fairly priced as well!!"
"Bar hoping for my sister's graduation.. went to a few places before we came here.. honestly should have came here before ever going into nova next door..I was able to meet and talk to the owner. He was a very nice man and made sure we had a good end to our night.. the security staff was amazing as well ., honestly if I live in this area this would be my go to spot.. the dj had it lit played classic hype music mixed with the newer songs .. the bartenders poured the perfect shots.. and we didn't have to ask for a chaser it was offered to us, .. I kno I needed one .. my brother was drunk af the security just checked on him made sure he was ok we ensured we had cut him off and they had no problem with us staying even helped up get him to the buss.."
"Brand new Gin Bar in Sunnyvale! They have an excellent selection of gins from all over the world. They also have a fun gin-based cocktail menu based on the "History of the Cocktail", including a 1867 Gimlet, 1920's Last Word, 1980's Bramble, etc.The bartender Edgar gave us a GREAT experience. He made a few excellent cocktails and martinis with a variety of different gins. Part of the fun is just trying new gins! They have clean lond dry style, barrel aged, flavored, hyper-local gins, and... if you MUST some vodka and whiskey too. ;)The space is also GORGEOUS. Plenty of seating, and there's a fun foosball table made of transparent material! Tues-Thu there's even live music! Some pro-tips for when you arrive:* It's at the AC Hotel on Java Drive* The entrance to the parking is in back, on Bordeaux Drive.* The front desk can validate the ticket for the parking garage.* The Gin Bar is in a separate building from the Whiskey bar (and restaurant), right next door.* You can order food from the restaurant if you ask.Definitely going to come back again!"
