"Came for dinner around 730PM on a Thursday. About 1/4 of the restaurant tables were occupied when we arrived, and never got super busy for the 3 hrs we were there.I believe the wait staff was trying to be polite and not interrupt our conversation but I had to get her attention to order, and get a to-go box and the check.Food was good but entrees seemed to take a while, ~20+ min? Overall pretty good except the music, and especially the happy birthday music (there were 3 that night) was SO loud. It was challenging to hear someone talking sitting right across from me."
"Jhol momo (lamb): yummy; Medium spice is just right for usOur go-to dish here is C Chili Chicken momo, which is spicy (more than what we would like even in Medium spice level)."
Steamed momo, served on a sizzling plate with noodles, garnished with cabbage, onion, bell pepper, and lemon.

"We were so lucky to have a party of 11, come on a Sunday evening ,and get seated right away. The host and staff were very accommodating of our small children and quick to help us. The food was easy to order through our phone and surprisingly affordable for being in downtown Redwood City! I love the self serve hot tea station. It smelled of cinnamon. The heaters and lights outside made for an enjoyable atmosphere. The interior transport you to a nice Mediterranean diner. The food was just as delightful and fresh. I love the baba ganoush, the tabouli salad, fluffy pita bread, and chopped chicken skewer plate with rice. The garlic sauce was so perfect. A surprising favorite was their giant charred cauliflower, seasoned and cooked perfectly. This was a sure highlight of our trip!"
"Stumbled on this place because Mazra was closed and what a pleasant surprise! The food is one of the best Mediterranean places in the bay.You order at the counter and there are lots of tables but know that it is a very casual establishment and nothing fancy. The food service is fast and the prices are very reasonable."
"Quick and delicious. They have a great $10 plate that has rice, meat, veggies, and dressing. You can barely find any $10 meals anymore these days. Please help support local small business!"
"This is a decent Indian food place overall. They had special food items advertised at the table but it ended in December & they no longer had the food items. They were on every table, but they still didn't take them off the tables. I had several entrees as seen in the photos. The food was pretty good, the chicken was a bit salty for some reason, but not terrible. The service was ok, the waiter wasn't friendly/but wasn't unfriendly...they were just there to do the job and I get it. I'd come back & try other items on the menu for sure. If you enjoy the heat of spice, this might be a place for you to check out."
"This is probably the best birayni I've had in the Bay Area. There was so much flavor in every bite! Sometimes I've had problems with other biryanis because either it's not spicy enough, it's not flavorful enough, or the flavor is not even late dispersed enough. This one was perfect all-around. I ordered it through DoorDash very late on a Friday night after barhopping. The food came right on time as I got home.I got the chicken biryani. I liked the onions and the chicken meat was moist! There was not an option to customize the spice. It was extremely spicy, which I loved, but it did hurt the next day coming out. Everyone that took a bit also felt the spice hurt their tummies. One recommendation is to give options for spice levels. The mango lassi helped with cooling the spice.I'd love to visit in-person and try other foods!"
"Food and service were super good! Portions are definitely small though. Butter chicken with naan-4/5 more tomato-y than im used to, but still good! I wish there was more naan so i could dip it in the sauce.Tandoori soya chaap -5/5 delicious! It has a creamy, nutty flavor and the texture was really nice. It has a small kick which is barely noticeable but nice."

We've come back to Yas multiple times since our first visit, and they are always excellent!Staff are so wonderful and friendly, they always greet us warmly and have recognized us when we come in. Takeout out is just as good as dine-in, and we always have leftovers from their entrees. Such a perfect weeknight dinner for flavorful dishes that leave you full but never feeling bad. So good!

I was on a momo craze these days and was sad to leave Seattle because I didn't think there were any near me BUT I was wrong cuz this gem of a place popped up on my run. I went in on a whim and the person that took my order was super friendly. I got the tikka masala, a chicken momo, and the garlic naan. He was really hyping up all the food so it was very exciting for me! Extra points for offering free chai (it was delicious). The tikka masala was sweet and creamy and well seasoned. The garlic naan went really well with it! The momos were also super good! The chicken filling was nice and sturdy. He recommended the lamb momos so will def try that next time. I would recommend drinking so much chai while eating the momos.

I finally made it down to Redwood City to try the new Mazra. This is a much nicer location than their original one, but why is parking still challenging lol. There's a lot right behind, but you're better off going to the garage across the way. While the food is still great, it is a little confusing at first as a fast casual set up. Your best bet is ordering on your phone with the QR code, but you can get regular table service if you prefer. Food is delicious and plentiful. The chicken shawarma plate comes with nice portions and a good variety of sides. The halloumi cheese rolls with honey is a great sweet and savory snack. I do like being able to grab water and tea at the different self serve stations throughout the place. When the weather is warm, eating outside with a large group is fun. Can't wait to head back!

I was a bit skeptical of this place, but it was really good! This is for sure on my list of go-tos for Mediterranean food.Chicken shawarma - 5/5, good amount of chicken and hummus. They also give a type of salad, two different types of rice, and pita bread. Super filling and flavorful! The other meats were also good, next time I would probably get the ground meat.

Review for 1/17/25: We recently ordered takeout from Shahi Darbar and it was a fantastic experience! The highlight of our meal was definitely the baingan bharta. It was rich with just the right amount of kick to keep things exciting. It's easily one of the best Indian dishes I can eat and not get tired of.The aloo jeera masala was also a standout, with perfectly cooked potatoes infused with aromatic spices and a wonderful cumin flavor. We couldn't get enough of it! And the fish pakora - light, airy, and fried to perfection. It wasn't greasy at all and had a beautiful texture that complemented the meal.Since we opted for takeout, we can't comment on the dine-in service, but the food speaks volumes about the quality and care they put into their dishes. Shahi Darbar is worth a visit! We're coming back to try their other dishes.

I had found this place via Instagram. I called earlier and the lovely Sherry answered. I went early enough to secure a table for the weekend buffet. For 15 dollars it's an incredible deal. Sherry and her husband were super friendly, and made me feel very welcome. They had everything from homemade hummus to this ghee sweet made with dates, to all types of rices, unlimited teas and mocktails. The buffet had about 30 items and it was fantastic. The veggie biriyani and the different pakoras were divine. I had like 5 plates. It was fabulous. Truly a good find. I'm pleading with the team to please keep up the dinner buffet post Ramadan. Thank you.

My family and I have been meaning to try this place and we are so happy we got the chance to eat here! It was a really cool sports bar vibe with some interesting hip hop Bollywood or South Asian type music (not really sure, but it was really cool). We ended up ordering:-Chicken Quesadilla which was so delicious! They were juicy pieces of chicken, spicy jalapeños, onions, and served with a creamy sauce. This is actually exactly how I like to make these at home, but these were better than what I usually make. The only thing I would want to change would be to make the sauce spicier.-Butter Chicken Sliders was better than we expected! We expected it to be good, but it was even better! It was juicy, crispy, and the perfect balance of butter chicken sauce to bun ratio.-Chicken Finger Kids meal was a regular kids meal, nothing special, but it came with a really big portion of chicken and fries which was awesome! We really loved this place and it also served alcohol which made it even better!

"I love the labneh with zatar! The labneh is very thick and creamy. The toasty zatar on top goes with the tartness so well. It beats Oren's any day. Service is very friendly and kind. Turkish coffee is amazingly fragrant but super strong. If you are used to needing cream in your coffee, you might need a bottle of cream. Just pour the coffee directly in the cream bottle."
"Came here twice after the seeing the reviews and they are spot on! Everything we ordered both times were absolutely delicious. Fresh, clean, good portions and pricing is very reasonable!I've been to a handful of indian restaurants in the Sunnyvale/Santa Clara area and this is by far the best one. Staff is friendly and restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. Something about white paper tablecloths really gives it that elevated look. I had one of their January specials, the Baigan Mazedar Chaat and it was super flavorful and not to mention spicy. My boyfriend and I love spicy foods and they did not disappoint. The Lamb Seekh Kebab was one of the best things I've ever had. it's with minced lamb, onion, garlic, ginger with spices and herbs. Lamb was not dry and very flavorful and cooked perfectly. Garlic Naan and Roti were fresh and warm as if they were just freshly baked. The Naan had crispy garlic bits and were crispy. Fish Masala was also A+ well balanced and consistent with the sauce. i am definitely getting that again next time."
"Tried this place recently again. Got the Falafel plate and sauteed eggplant . The food overall was decent, except that the Tzatziki sauce served as part of the plate the sauteed eggplant dish had a bitter / sour taste, perhpas because they were stale and on the verge of going bad. The falafels were fried fresh. The pita bread was warm as well. Seems like they don't make everything very fresh. Only 1 other customer besides me on a friday afternoon. Not sure I will try it again."
"3.5 STARSDate: Wednesday, March 29th, 2023Time: Ordered around 1:45pm, Picked up around 2:15pmHow: via Restaurant's websiteMeal: Lunch*Kabob Meat Only: Skewers of Meat - Chicken Kabob Skewer (+$7.89), Lamb Kabob Skewer (+$8.99)*Hummus: Comes with Pita Bread ($6.39)*Sophie's Tzaztziki: Cucumber Yogurt Dip with Pita ($6.39)The hubby's brother was grabbing food and asked me if I wanted anything. My answer? Always yes! Feed me! Funny enough, he and the hubby don't really like Mediterranean, so I often don't get the chance to eat it. (I believe he ordered their Fettuccine Alfredo. Lol!) So I was looking forward to satisfying my random hummus cravings. The skewers didn't come on skewers, but they had a nice smokiness. Tho I did find the meat a little dry. Thanks goodness for my two sides. The tzatziki provided a nice freshness. I did find the hummus a little bland, but nothing some salt or hot sauce couldn't fix.Good option for Mediterranean in the Evergreen area.Note: My pix are from a meal I had back in 2020. I didn't take any pictures this time around. There is an added Beef Kabob Skewer."
"I've been here several times and have enjoyed it every time. You order at the register and then have a seat. They bring your to the table. It usually arrives very quickly. The food is great and I haven't been disappointed in anything that I have ordered. The restaurant is clean and comfortable."
"Lamb beef gyro wrap - perfectly executed, nice solid pieces of meat. Lavash was nice and grilled. white sauce is served on the side.Rice pudding - It was so good! Nice and light, not too sweet, a subtle perfect touch of warm spice. It was the perfect consistency for me, not too thick and ricey, and not too thin either. The owner is so nice! And they keep the place really clean."
"Ordered the lamb skewer, the Samsa and the milk tea and lots of drinks. Try the yuzu honey. Food needs less mild."
"LOVE Pom salad with chicken. Chicken had great flavor. LIKEYoung woman in a "Dreamer" T-shirt was very kind."
"ahhh...social media finds...Most of the time Social Media is not the best thing, but sometimes it can reveal some hidden gems. I caught a clip on IG of a local Palestinian spot in SJ...at least that's what the short vid claimed. I was intrigued...I'm not familiar with Palestinian food. I had to give it a try. Apparently this is their second location, there is another is in Walnut Creek. I'm familiar with the location of this venue. Former home to Sultan Bakery, which I did not find impressive...regardless of the high ratings. Parking is challenging in that area, luckily I snagged a spot on the street in front of the restaurant. There is a decent amount of seating inside and an outdoor seating area as well. Bright, Clean and inviting, they definitely redid the interior. #MediterraneanEats:~ MANAKISH FLATBREADS: - Lahn-bajin - 4/5I wasn't so sure what was classified as a Flatbread, looks like a pizza to me. But you'll understand when you bite into it. It's different, almost like a think crust NY pizza. A good amount of beef in it, heartier and heavier that it looks. ~ FATTEH BOWLS: - Chicken Shwarma (w/ Half and Half) - 4/5A good size bowl. We opted for the Half and Half option...best of both worlds; Salad & Rice. Generous portions! The Bowl had a good amount of food, Juicy flavorful Chicken with Creamy Humus...delish! ~ DESSERT: - Cheese Kanafeh - 4/5I was a bit bummed out they didn't have Ice Cream. This would have been amazing with some Ice Cream...not that it wasn't already brilliant! It would transcend to the next level. I originally wanted a Falafel bowl, but they were out of Falafels. Oh well, next time! Very satisfied with the food we ordered, now I'll just need to come back and try the rest of menu."
"I had the pleasure of working with Isfahan to cater a Galentine's party at our home, and the experience was outstanding. For our party of ten, the food exceeded expectations--not only was it delicious, but the portions were generous, ensuring everyone was well-fed and happy. The staff was incredibly helpful in planning the menu, offering great recommendations that made the selection process seamless. I brought my own platters to the restaurant, and they beautifully arranged the food, making for a stunning presentation. Thanks to Isfahan, hosting was effortless, and we looked great serving such an incredible spread. I highly recommend the beef kabobs with rice (kubideh, the cucumber yogurt (mastokhiar) with bread, and hummus. The kabobs come with a very flavorful rice which was surprisingly good."
