I ordered through DoorDash and was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the meal. Soup This was delicious. Tomato based veggie soup with some bow tie pasta. I recommend it!Kids cheeseburger. I ordered medium rare and got medium. I expected as much, so my strategy worked. Burger was big for a kids burger plus they give all the fixings on the side (lettuce, red onion, pickles, tomatoes). If you don't eat like a starving teenage boy, then this burger is a good size for you. Blue cheese and pear salad. THIS was DELICIOUS. For anyone with nut allergies, know that it comes with pecans in it, but I just pick them out. I would order this again for sure. Plenty of pear, nice and thin slices. Ratio of salad to pear was good. Dressing was ample and smartly provided on the side. Food options are limited here. This place is worth it and prices are reasonable.

Standard Santa Cruz with nothing special about the food. Service was excellent nice patio, but food needs help. I had fish and chips, worst fries in town. Fish was so so. Dad had burger and said it was good. Onion rings were decent

The food is very good and there is a great array of choices! Fun to eat there and fun to eat at home! Very good hamburgers. The people are very friendly and cater to your needs. Haven't had anything I didn't like!! Nice drive and surroundings.

I ordered several food items a few days ago. I ended up with food poisoning! I had severe abdominal pain pains, explosive diarrhea and vomiting! I think the health department needs to check this restaurant! I will never order food from there again!

We like to order take out, usually burgers. However, on the kids' menu they require the purchase of some sort of potato in addition to a side such as salad or cole slaw. Our child does not like potatoes so it gets thrown out every time. A complete waste of food and money. Please allow parents to only order what their kid will eat!

I got to enjoy the Back Nine Grill and Bar just recently on a business trip. I liked the atmosphere and location, nestled in the woods. The food was delicious, admittedly it was just a burger. But what a great burger! The staff was attentive and responsive. I felt well taken care of by the waitress with red hair. She was attentive, accommodating (my burger order is specialized) and pleasant. I would highly recommend Back Nine.

Have not been here in a long time, but enjoyed a fabulouse dinner with fantastic service. Everyone was friendly, and it was obvious that they took pride in their work. The burger was delish and dripped down my arm which is always the best sign!! I highly recommend this out of the way gem!!

Service here is terrible. I came in on a Saturday night and the restaurant was not busy. We were sat right away but then left alone for over 20 mins. There were plenty of workers walking around and standing in the front of the restaurant. Finally a person out of my party had to go and ask a waitress to come over and help us. It took another 20 mins just to get a drink. The food was not impressive either. I would skip this place when visiting Santa Cruz!

Our first impression was positive--the hostess was delightful and helpful, seating us at a nice table by the window as we rolled our disabled family member into the restaurant. The second hostess was also kind, though unfamiliar with the drink options, but she ensured we received our beverages. Our initial server, who had sleeves, was prompt and knowledgeable about mixed drinks. However, things began to decline once Shelby, our primary server, took over.Shelby asked if we wanted hors d'oeuvres. Initially, we declined, but I quickly corrected us and ordered jumbo shrimp to share. I also requested a straw. Shelby returned much later to take our orders after getting our hors d'oeuvre I requested a straw again after drinking most of my soda. My fiancé ordered for his mother first, requesting fish and chips, followed by my salad, his pulled pork sandwich, and our friend's BBQ chicken. Despite this, Shelby's attitude was cold and dismissive, shocking us with her rolling eyes and snubbing behavior. She rarely checked on us, while attentively serving other tables. Other servers stepped in to assist more than Shelby did. When the hors d'oeuvres finally arrived, my fiancé asked another staff member if the peach sauce was spicy. He was told it wasn't, but after tasting it, both he and his mother experienced intense heat and heartburn. Shortly after, our meals arrived. My salad was beautifully presented, my fiancé's pulled pork sandwich was good, and our friend's BBQ chicken looked appealing. However, Shelby failed to notice she had completely forgotten my mother-in-law's fish and chips. When it eventually arrived, it was clear it had been frozen--the batter was soggy and tasteless, the fries were wretched, and the coleslaw was the only redeemable item. We had to chase Shelby down for condiments like ketchup and vinegar. The restroom situation compounded our frustration. The aisles were too narrow for a wheelchair, making navigation difficult. The unisex bathroom was occupied, and the women's restroom door was too small for the wheelchair. My fiancé had to assist in helping my mother-in-law. Meanwhile, I observed customers repeatedly slamming the unisex bathroom door into an outside bench, creating unnecessary disturbances. After eating, I requested boxes and the check. Shelby brought boxes that were right next to us but failed to bring the check promptly. We waited ten minutes before leaving, except for my fiancé, who waited another ten minutes inside. By the time we were all at the car, the neglectful service made it clear we could've easily left without paying, and no one would've noticed. The experience was appalling. Shelby's dismissive attitude, lack of care, and forgetfulness ruined what should've been an enjoyable meal. While some dishes were satisfactory, the overall experience was disgraceful. We would never return, and I strongly advise others to avoid this restaurant due to Shelby's shameful service.
