Anchors Fish & Chips and Seafood Grill

MY TO GO TO SPOT FOR FISH AND CHIPS! This place is so so good! If you're local this is the spot to get fish and chips!! The batter is delicious and the food is always fresh whenever I go here to eat. Only downside is that there's not much parking spaces in the parking lot. They do share the lot with other businesses and the lot can be a bit narrow when driving in or out- tight parking spaces. Besides that the portions here are great value and generous and keeps me coming back often! I highly recommend!

Food:Crab sandwiches: Delicious, but expensive. Plentiful crab for money paid. Gilled fish: Excellent taste, though a bit salty. Great side of cole slaw. Calamari: Huge helping, flavorful with good sauce.Service: Excellent and very attentive.Ambiance: We know this location well, they replaced our favorite restaurant that we used to go to often. Outside and inside seating with a great bar.

Made it to Anchors Fish & Chips and Seafood Grill cuz it was in the San Jose Mercury "9 fantastic Bay Area fish tacos to try." Grilled Alaskan Halibut Tacos with pineapple salsa, sauce & cabbage were okay but the $17 price point for what u get was a little steep. The black beans were also very bland. Service was quick and friendly.Nice outdoor seating area. Cute decor & clean place but wouldn't return.

Everything here is great. The service is great and with a smile!I usually order the Crab Louie (they seriously should bottle and sell this), the tuna melt, or the lobster roll. All are delicious.

I've eaten at Anchors many times over the last several years and the lobster roll is always delicious. Tonight was no exception. The bread was soft and tasty and the lobster was delectable. I liked the fries, but miss the seasoned fries they used to offer. This dish is a bit expensive at $29, but a nice treat once in a while. Also had the mahi-mahi tacos without chipotle sauce. I can't handle spice. Turns out the pico de gallo had bits of jalapeños in it, so I had to remove that, too. The fish was tender and had a nice subtle flavor. All in all, a very good dinner.

Pretty decent sized restaurant with an outdoor patio with garden lights. I ordered the mixto which had cod, shrimp, oysters, and a scallop which comes with a small serving of fries. I also ordered a diet coke which unfortunately was flat and had no carbonation.As for the food itself, it's beer battered and I thought the batter was pretty good, but everything was extremely oily. I needed to pat all of the food with a napkin to eat it. The cod was also pretty dry, and oysters had an off taste to them... Couldn't pin point it but the only thing I had different from my boyfriend were the oysters and I had stomach issues later. The scallops and shrimp were good though.Overall, wouldn't be my first choice for fish & chips but they offer wide selection on the menu that other diners seem to enjoy.

I made the mistake of conjuring up the idea of calamari for my 4yo's dinner and when I couldn't deliver, it sent her into a meltdown. Luckily for me, I stumbled across Anchors Fish & Chips and Seafood as I was searching through Yelp. Yes, it was a bit of a drive considering my current location but the visit was sooo worth it.Parking was a breeze given the fact that Achors shares a private lot amongst a few of the neighboring businesses, street parking seemd plentiful as well. The patio seating setup was simple yet very cute. Our party of 3 were immediately greeted and the nice lady let me know that although the business didnt offer any kid's menu, there were burgers, pastas, and a few other goodies to choose from. Dinner: *SALT AND PEPPER CALAMARI*GARLIC PRAWN LINGUINE*NY STEAK AND PRAWNS (comes with 2 sides- we went with DOUBLE portions of the roasted veggies)The calamari was superb!!! It was not overly battered and heavy, all while the calamari rings were tender and moist. The only thing that could make this dish even better would be having tentacles included- my daughter and I love those!! Seriously, I would come back to Anchors specifically for this!!!Garlic prawn linguine was okay. The prawns were plump, well cooked, and the linguine was al dente. My only disappointment was finding the broth too sweet for my tastebuds. Garlic bread was fantastic though! The steak was cooked according to our request of medium rare, the prawns were flavored well and the charred grill layer was delicious. Veggies provided were plentiful. 5/5 stars specifically for the calamari. Anchors absolutely has cooking seafood down to a science- flavors were not lacking and nothing was overcooked. Staff is polite and even made sure to check up on guests about how their meals were. Extra points because the restrooms were so damn clean. It really doesnt get much better than this.

To be honest, I didnt know what to expect when we walked into Anchor - it was about noon and there were only 3 other people in the restaurant. My immediate thought was "uh oh, is it too late to just walk out without appearing rude?" We were immediately greeted by our server and seated. Upon glancing at the menu I couldn't really make up my mind. A lot of good choices! Most were what you would expect to see at any seafood restaurant like Lobster rolls, fish tacos, salmon, etc - but, being that this place specializes in fish n' chips I went with that. (Plus, I checked yelp and it happened to be the most suggested order.) My husband decided on their baja tacos (sorry, I forget what kind of fish they use for that plate). When my fish n' chips arrived I was so surprised at the size of the fish portion!! It was literally more than half the length of my arm!! MORE THAN HALF THE LENGTH OF MY ARM, People!! THAT IS A GINORMOUS PIECE and that was only 1 of the 2 on my plate. The batter was crispy, flavorful and, the best part, it wasn't greasy! "Thank you, Anchor for cooking that so perfectly!" A dash of lemon, a sprinkle of malt vinegar and each bite was amazing :) The fries were well cooked too and my husband's order was also quite memorable. He and I both agreed that we would come back to Anchor the next time we're craving fish n' chips. Their prices are also quite fair.So, don't judge a book by its cover. As I mentioned, I almost dashed out of this place cause no one else was in there; but by the time we'd left it was a full house. I was wrong to make an assumption - I admit it. This place is one of those 'hole in the wall' restaurants that stay around a really long time cause it's really good. Great location in downtown Saratoga with scenic views of the mountains - perfect place for a stroll and to walk off that foot long piece of fish. The meal was lovely. Loved it.

Food wasn't bad also no to tasty,Steak look like frozen and cook in the microwave, clam chowder to thick, fish and chips , fish to oily-chips are okCreamy lemon seafood pasta the calamari was a pice of rubber , prawn was fishyAnd Caesar salad was ok.The waitress was nice and trying to do the that she can , but she was alone in the dining room, means our food was in the kitchen window for long time and arrived cold, (We waited the food for long time and I was very hangry and disappointed that I forgot to take pictures of the food) she tried to make it right for us, I appreciated but the bad experience was already damage the whole experience and lunchThe place it's small kind of fishing and surfing painting in the walls don't looks very cleanI need to think more than twice to give this place a second chance. Maybe in one of the others locación......will see

Very delicious crispy fish and chips. This is a nice clean restaurant with a big shady patio. The menu looks fabulous but we decided on two basic fish and chips to kind of set the bar. Absolutely delicious and fresh. You can see the fish being cooked! Everyone is super cheerful and gracious. They loaded us up with lemons and sauces. Wonderful! Highly recommend.
