Amato's Cheesesteaks

I cannot say enough about an amazing staff. Such great people and of course this is the most authentic cheese steak along with the bread. The best ever. Brought our family from Brazil and they loved it too!!

This is probably one of the worse meal Ive had for a while.Food: cheese fries, onion rings, meat ball parm, chicken cheese steak. The onion ring is probably the best out of all of them but still just standard onion rings. Nothing great.Now comes the bad, meatball parm was abysmal. Super dry. Marinara sauce was bitter (why???) it was so dry and tasteless that I had to keep sipping water to keep it down.Cheese fries: fries was standard, under seasonedChicken cheese steak: hubby had it but said it wasnt good either.Service: they charge $1 extra for credit cards. Which I dont mind but didnt realize it later until looking at the receipt. Hated this. Should have told customer before paying or display a sign.Ambiance: crowded, stuffy, not food for kidsI believe the only reason this place has 5 stars rating is bc of their portion. The shorties were so big. So if you are like most of the base customer here who are just looking to fill your bellies with cheap prices then this is the place to go. If you are looking for taste, go somewhere else or you will waste consuming all these calories although I couldnt finish the rest of the sandwich due to it tasting so bad

Delicious. I ordered Philly cheesesteak with cheese, beef, mushrooms, and order of fries. Only annoying thing is I got order and asked for jalapeños and they said it was $0.50. Petty to charge for jalapeños for a sandwich and fries that cost $34.Didn't think of it until I got the order or else would have just paid the $0.50 at time of order. Would still return but get your jalapeños at time of order or prepare to be annoyed over pettiness.

Best cheesesteak sandwiches. Been coming since 2000 and cant compare these sandwiches!

Lots of fresh hot juicy meat grilled with fresh veggies all on a tasty roll!If you can eat a large by yourself, then you need to enter into contests!Amatos is wonderfully friendly and homey in appearance. I could probably stay here all day watching football and eating a large cheesesteak.The fries are wonderful and so are the onion rings!I love this place!Go here! You will be super happy you did!

This place is a hidden gem! It's in a small strip plaza and has an old school diner vibe. The meat is tender and flavorful and workers are friendly. Always come here when I'm craving a Philly cheesesteak!

I came back from Philadelphia a few weeks ago and I tried my first ever cheesesteak and hoagie. I have been craving for a cheesesteak and a hoagie ever since.Luckily, I stumbled upon this place. I ordered a cheesesteak hoagie with sweet chili peppers and a regular cheesesteak. It was so amazing and reminded me of the ones I had in Philadelphia. Cravings were satisfied and I will definitely come back again.

My cheese steak was pricy and not all that great. There are plenty of other cheese steak shops in the east bay that I prefer over Amato's.The interior diner theme is fun and bright and the servers are friendly, but the cheese steak is just not very tasty. The sandwich was very soft and lacking any char or texture from the meat, and overall not flavorful.

Dropped by on a Sunday just as they opened up Got the small chicken works cheesesteak with the cheese fries. Both hot fresh, flavorful and filling. Amato's is authentic and they are perfectionists in their sandwiches. I will definitely return to this casual blue collar sandwich shop and try a few more things on the menu.

C'mon fellas. Haven't been in a couple years, and when I looked online, I was glad to see a 'shorty' was $7.00. When I drove over to pick it up, and the counter person said it was $14.00, I was pretty shocked. When I told her the website said $7.00, she said, something like, 'Take this menu home with you. This has the right prices.' I chose to buy it, and it was typical Amato's. The website menu is poor quality photos, and most importantly incorrect pricing. You can do better by changing the website when you change your prices. No surprises that way.
