I've been coming to this place for brunch for years and I'm always impressed by how the taste and quality have stayed consistent.I highly recommend their scrambles (California and Jalisco) as well as their Huevos Rancheros.

I was looking for another breakfast spot to go to during my work break's and Alana's Cafe has been on my radar for a long time. Alana's Cafe has been part of downtown Burlingame since 1993 so the interior is old fashioned, but it's comfortable enough for my standards. The biggest standout is how friendly staff is and the service is great. The food to me is decent, but very pricy for what it is in my opinion. Which I can understand because of rising costs and running a business in downtown Burlingame for sure has to be pricey. In my most recent visit I ordered the Denver Scramble with Coffee Cake ($22.45 total). They have a sign stating that there is a surchage of any item that has eggs. $0.50 per egg and $0.25 per item that has egg incredients such as the coffee cake I ordered. I get it....but still the price is definitely a bit tough to justify for a Denver Scramble. The flavor and the ingredients are pretty standard. Ham, egg, pre shredded cheese, and bell peppers. The potatoes were quite overseasoned and salty to me while also being a bit too over cooked. There is an extra charge for the coffee cake, but that was the best part for me personally. The cake was soft and not too sweet. It was moist and had a lot of spices which was nice. My dad ordered the Slice of Quiche and Cup of Soup ($18.20) and he felt that was too expensive and not filling enough. The soup looked good though.Personally I liked the service here, but the value wasn't there for me especially with all the options in Burlingame. It is still worth the try for a first time though.

I've been here twice and each time the food and service were excellent I love a good soft egg scramble and most breakfast places mess up the order with overcooked eggs. Here, a wet scramble is wet scramble. My guests and I had the following and liked them all:Mediterranean egg scramble, Jalisco egg scramble, Swedish pancakes with real maple syrup, and quiche. Breakfasts come with a side of potatoes and choice of bread, coffee cake, or scone. We scored both times with the scones. Coffee is very good and it comes with free and frequent refills. Service is super attentive and friendly.

Came on a Sunday morning for brunch for 2 and was seated immediately inside. We ordered a cappuccino, latte, avocado toast, and a quiche. The food was decent, but the coffee tasted kinda diluted (tasted like americano + milk instead of espresso and milk). The avocado toast was really good, but had more salmon than avocado. Overall a cute little place for brunch!

Decided to check out Alana's Cafe for a Sunday brunch with my family and it did not disappoint. Though it appeared to be busy, it only took about 5-10 minutes to seat my family of 4. Once seated, service was very accommodating with regard to high chairs and also attentive, so we never felt like we were forgotten. Our food was absolutely delicious and the portions were generous. Great place for families and I highly recommend you check out Alana's Cafe for brunch with friends and/or family.

Alana's is my family's go to brunch place on Burlingame avenue. I almost always either order the company's coming or the Sonoma scramble. My mom really loves the Swedish oatmeal pancakes. You can't go wrong with this restaurant and highly recommend it for a fun and cute brunch spot!

I came here for brunch on a Sunday, and I sat outside. I ordered the Swedish oatmeal pancakes with bacon, and they were pretty good! I really liked the oatmeal flavor in these pancakes. After I ate one pancake, I was cutting into the second pancake and saw that there was plastic in my pancake! I immediately gave my plate to the host, and she took my plate away without an apology or even a suggestion that they would re-make it. When I sat back down, my waitress gave me my bill, and she charged me for those pancakes! I couldn't believe it. After I told her that my meal was inedible, she removed the charge. Their customer service was terrible!

I had a delicious breakfast here on Sunday morning around 10:30am. There are a couple outdoor tables, a few inside, and seating on the counter. We were seated right away. Service was amazing! My coffee stayed full, and food came out quick. I had: -Denver scramble + mushrooms (5/5)Soooo soo good! And those potatoes....wow! I truly enjoyed this! The apple cinnamon scone I chose was 5/5 as well. -Orange juice (5/5)Fresh squeezed, can't go wrong.-Jalisco hot sauce (5/5)So spicy and so good! I need it bottled! I will definitely be back to try other things on the menu or probably the same exact thing :)

Great cafe with amazing service! Very small and the kitchen is in full view but they still turn things around quickly. Freshly squeezed lemonade was so-so but the food was wonderful!

I don't usually order pancakes, but when the server recommended their Swedish pancakes, I decided to give them a try--and I'm so glad I did! They were dense, packed with flavor, and absolutely delicious. The rich texture, paired with the tart lingonberry topping, made for the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. My partner grew up in Burlingame, and this was one of her favorite spots to go with friends--and now I completely understand why. The food is fantastic, and the cozy, welcoming vibe makes it a place you want to keep coming back to.Whether you're a longtime local or just passing through, Alana's Cafe is a must-visit for a great brunch experience!
