I have visited Al Castello a few times, and the restaurant is beautiful inside and the bar looks really nice. The service is very good and professional. My water glasses get filled, and we are never left waiting for service. I have tried a few things at Al Castello, but I LOVE pizza, and their pizza is truly the best. I like their salads, as well. I always go in planning to get a salad and then seeing a pizza coming tout someone else's table and caving!

Al Costello's is a beloved, family-owned restaurant that's been serving the Cambrian neighborhood of San Jose for a long time, and it's easy to see why they've earned such a loyal following. The family behind this restaurant is not only dedicated to delivering authentic Italian food, but they also keep their prices very fair, making it an excellent value for the quality you get.I love dining in their warm, inviting space, enjoying their delicious Italian dishes. Their pizza is also fantastic, and their takeout option is set up perfectly for a quick and easy meal at home. The family is incredibly kind and welcoming, and I'm always happy to support this business. It's truly a gem in the neighborhood, and I couldn't be more grateful to have it nearby. Whether for a cozy sit-down meal or grabbing a pizza to go, Al Costello's never disappoints!

We used to go to Al Castello when it was located on South Bascom and a smaller place. I got the penne Bolognese pasta. I'll admit I was disappointed. It doesn't taste as good as it used to. The same with the bread. Just a FYI, they don't make homemade pasta here anymore. Nevertheless, a great place to gather if you have a big group. And you don't have to worry about parking. They've got a big parking lot. I think if I go again, I'll get the pizza. The ambience doesn't compare to their previous location. It was a lot nicer. It was a cozy place and a good date place. The new place is clean & newish looking inside. No more cozy booths unfortunately. It was just me, so I was just given a small table. In hindsight, I wish I would've asked for another table because I felt like people kept walking by my table and then one of the workers, I'm assuming it's the manager or owner, kept walking around. It wasn't very calming & felt a little self conscious eating lol. Although the plus is I'd rather have a manager onsite & who cares.

An Italian restaurant at a strip mall...I came in with tempered expectations and was pleasantly surprised. The decor is mid-level casual and the food and service were above average. I had the mozzarella sticks, beef carpaccio for appetizers, and the chicken parmigiana as my entree and they were all good. The service was fast...and the food came out almost too fast and my friend and I were caught by surprise and had to slow things down so we could chat.

We had pasta there a couple of weeks ago and it was very enjoyable visit. My tomato pasta was really good. I definitely look forward to coming back to having the same pasta.

Very friendly and nice place to eat dinner tonight. Good service and very speedy. My recommendation would be to stick to the pasta. Salad dressing on the Ceasar was too sweet and tasted like a bottled dressing. Pass on that. Meatball was good. I had that with the spaghetti and meat sauce. My sister had the lasagna which she really enjoyed. The staff brought a scoop of ice cream for my sister's birthday and sang to her. That was sweet.

Had the Christmas menu dinner last night. Started with a persimmons salad which had a balsamic reduction, pomegranate and Parmesan. It was delicious. Then, lamb chops (medium well only) with a pomegranate reduction, fingerling potatoes and brussels sprouts were on point. Everything on the plate looked and tasted great. Service was friendly and on pace and atmosphere was festive and lively. Love this place.

Pasta was exceptional, the antipasto was underwhelming and the salad was not a strong enough vinegar so disappointing. We got there at seven mid week and it wasn't too busy but took 20mins for someone to take our order. Food was prompt but after we were finished eating it took another 30 minutes to get our waiter back to pay the bill. It's a cute place, nice open space but the staff move at a pace of my grandparents. I feel bad they have to still work but they need some young blood in the geriatric wait pool..
