I was accompanying my mom on a business trip here in San Jose. We checked in to the Radisson kind of late and we did not have dinner yet. I happily pointed out to her a flyer in the elevator of the hotel that for the month of July the hotel restaurant aka AJ's Bar and Grill was extending their happy hour till 10pm (a month long 4th of July special). Much to our surprise, we get to the restaurant and the restaurant side was dark (empty, no waiters or anything). We did see however the bar portion of the restaurant was open with a couple of folks inside. The waiter beckoned us to have a seat and since we were hungry, we decided to sit down. It turns out the server/waiter is also the bartender, cashier and the busboy. Poor guy was the one and only person who seemed to be working at that place. This therefore led to the service being kind of slow. He finally did give us menus and we ended up ordering the AJ's sampler appetizer and the French Dip sandwich. When the food came, the waiter/bartender/only one work there guy said he would get us some silverware. He goes to the dark/closed portion of the restaurant for a couple minutes (side note: it was kind of weird that it took long and that he had to go to the closed restaurant area) and brings us some silverware. First thing I noticed about the food was the portion size. The sampler came with a couple onion rings, four mozzarella sticks and two chicken tenders. The price of the sampler is $13.00 but since we were there for the July happy hour special, it was only $6.50. Seriously this thing was not worth $13.00; even $6.50 was kind of high. It was decent tasting but nothing special. The French Dip sandwich size was kind of small too but it came with a decent portion of wide fries. The fries were decent tasting as well but the sandwich itself was not that great. It was a bit on the salty side and I could not figure out if it was the beef or the dip sauce that was causing the saltiness. The sandwich bread was also kind of hard.Kudos for the onion rings and mozzarella sticks that were kind of good. The rest of the food was definitely nothing spectacular. Kudos as well for having the one waiter be nice. The service was slow though but I guess you can't expect much if there's just one guy holding down the fort at the restaurant.I think I honestly expected a nicer restaurant at a Radisson hotel (or at least an open one...where I would not have to sit at the bar area or at least a restaurant where the waiter, bartender, bus boy, cashier are different people)

ZERO Stars!Me and my boyfriend had gotten rained in this morning and couldn't go to my family's for Christmas. We decided to eat out at a nice dinner to atleast make Christmas a little better. We checked opentable.com which said they were open tonight and they had plenty of reservation times available. We came in a little after 5 and see another couple standing there in the doorway of the resturant. There were no lights on inside. We asked them if the resturant was open. They said they had checked opentable as well. The waiter or someone said that they would go back and check if the chef or whoever was available to seat and feed us. He comes back out and said the manager just called and they were closed. Wow, great customer service. Never again, even though the resturant looked really cute inside.

Dim lighting and the service is not the greatest. If you're not in a hurry i would check this place out. Good if you are in need of a place to relax and kick back.

My coworkers and I found this restaurant via opentable.com. It's new, why not check it out. Such a disappointment... The place was empty, except for two tables. I guess that was a good sign... The waiter brought out a basket of bread.. It was more like a basket of hockey pucks... It was soooo hard you couldn't even chew it... As for the main course... I ordered the Chicken Picata, and it wasn't very good. I asked for a side of salad instead of rice. it was just a pile of lettuce. However, they were welted and brown. My friend's got the salmon, he liked it. I took a bite and it was very fishy. My other friend got the Chinese Chicken Salad, and that was actually pretty good. That's why I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1. We all said we didn't have come back here again....

We heard about this place in the Metro and decided to check out the Happy hour and live DJ on Friday night. The bar was very well done and had a pleasant comfortable crowd in it. This is a classy bar with good strong drinks and tasty bar aps. Added bonus plenty of parking and fair happy hour prices. The restaurant was open as well but we sat in the lounge. Its nice to have a bar without sticky floors and obnoxious 21yr olds... My friends thought about making this a monthly stop!
