San Jose was previously located in the Walmart parking lot in Rocky Mount. This location was convenient, and at that time San Jose was my family's favorite restaurant in Rocky Mount, and my family would eat there at least twice a week.A few years ago, San Jose closed their previous location and opened a new restaurant in the Golden East Mall parking lot. The new location is much larger. We were so excited about the new spot, and the first few times we went there it was fine.However, the service, cleanliness, speed, and tastiness of the restaurant really plummeted shortly after the move. Because the restaurant has gone downhill, we don't visit San Jose as much now, but I did stop in for lunch today.Lunch was fine, but the place was not busy. I would love for this restaurant to return to how it used to be.

Do not order without asking in advance what you will be charged. I pointed to the lunch menu price- in a Thursday during lunch as you can see from receipt. Instead of 7.99 I was charged 13. Ditto for the other three members of our party. Asked to see a manager and was told by 'manager' this is due to the chicken shortage. What the actual??? Totally ridiculous and food was mediocre at best. DO NOT WASTE

I haven't been in about 3 year reason being I'm not sure who this Little Girl/Woman is thee last time I come here she Was a hostess I guess seating guest to their table.. she was rude AF then.. and was rude 7/16/2021 I'm not sure what your roll is ma'am but you should be very nice to the people who decide to eat at your restaurant because we can also choose not to eat there and y'all would close down. I really didn't appreciate how you brushed us off and waved your little fingers in my face. This will be the last time I'll eat here simply because of her Short Brown hair skinny. The server was awesome BTW now she can get the 5 stars Over all the little hostess girl CANCELED she's gonna run YALL business down to the ground with her piss poor attitude.

The restaurant has nice music and a very interesting design to make you feel more immersed. It's right next to the mall which makes it a great place to go out to after you shop!

Me and my family just ate the this restaurant and the food was terrible and our server was very rude to the point where he was throwing the plates at the table. On top of that, they added 18% tip to my bill which I was not going to give the waiter anything because of the bad survive he proved us. Also they added another 3% for a "convenience fee" for using a credit card, which in my opinion it is illegal or it should be illegal. One star is actually one to many to this restaurant.

This restaurant was simply horrible. The food was extremely salty, we were 5 people eating including a baby and everyone hates the food. The nachos were specially salty, impossible to eat. The only okay part was the salsa and chips. The prices seemed okay when we walked in but at the time we received our check many fees were added. So not only is this restaurant bad but also expensive. The waiter was very sweet and apologized for the salty food. We do not recommend this restaurant.

We went for lunch and the food was great! This was until I asked for a container of salsa to take home to eat with my chips. After I got home I realized there was a chip in my salsa meaning she gave me RECYCLED salsa from someone else's table. Considering COVID and the circumstances, I am very dissatisfied with the take out salsa and I do not wish to eat salsa from here again. This is unacceptable.
