I really love this place. Have dined in a couple of times and always had a positive experience with food and service. Their menu doesn't just have the generic traditional/American Mexican restaurant fare. What inspired me to write this review was their chicken soup. Every time I get sick this is what I crave. I had never tried their soup before, but it won't be the last. Hardy portions of shredded chicken, broccoli, squash, rice, fresh, avocado, and broth. Great price for quality food. I've tried chicken soup at many of the other local Mexican places and some are pretty good and some not so great but this was outstanding. Thank you San Jose for providing such a nourishing delicious soup!!!

This is our second time visiting and we really enjoy the atmosphere! It's a little fancier than most of the Mexican places around here. All of the servers are extremely nice and our food has been great each time! Everything has a lovely presentation and they play great music

San Jose is one of the staples in my Tacos and Tequilas Tuesdays rotation. If you decide to visit San Jose, you won't have any regrets..especially if you try the tacos, wings, fajitas, and any of the drinks. The service is always helpful, attentive, and friendly. In addition to our main server, we have observed the manager walk around and ask how patrons are enjoying their visit. It's the little things like this that encourages me to return again and again. If you live in or are visiting Wake Forest/North Raleigh and you are looking for a place to let your hair down after a rough day/week and want some tasty tacos, rice, and refried beans, don't think twice about visiting San Jose. Everything we have ordered has been good. Our food always comes to the table hot and looking very appealing. They say "we eat with our eyes." Above all, the taste never disappoints. The ambience is also date-appropriate. Snuggle up with your date and a nice cocktail. You will not be disappointed. Happy Eating!

The food was very good and Service was also very good. Out of the four meals, one of them had a surprise ingredient. The house margaritas were very tasty. But it may require an extra shot just to give it a little kick. I would recommend the nachos and the taco salad. The ambience was perfect.

Walked in with party of 8 and immediately advised they were short staffed and drinks could be slow. (Appreciate the notice as we were headed to movies and timing could have added stress) We were seated immediately and didn't notice any delays in food or drink. Service was great! Their Chiles Poblanos were delicious. Kids menu had lots of options. The guacamole was fresh but excessively salty. Wine by the glass was limited and beer or margaritas would have been better choice. Decor is contemporary.Lighting could be better but they compensate with little battery operated table lamps.

We were seated immediately on a Saturday night in a cozy booth. Chips and salsa were brought quickly. Fresh, tomatoey salsa. We both ordered the Enchiladas Nortenas: Three corn tortillas, one filled with chicken topped with spinach sauce, one filled with shredded pork topped with chipotle sauce and one filled with potato and home made chorizo topped with cheese sauce, served with a side of rice and beans. The enchiladas were absolutely delicious. We did notice they mixed up the sauces that went on each enchilada but we didn't care -- it all goes in the same place. Overall a delicious meal with great service.

Good choice for Mexican cuisine. Order online for pick-up or dine-in. They have ample indoor seating and outdoor patio tables. I chose to order lunch online for takeout. Online ordering is quick and easy. Pay with credit card or Apple Pay. I do wish the entrees were customizable in addition to the comment box. I requested no cheese in the notes section, however, cheese was still poured over my entree. Luckily, the cheese collected on one side of the dish on the bottom so I ate the other side. Everything else was accurate and it was ready upon arrival. The portions and prices were reasonable. I ordered the shrimp fried rice ($8.99) with a side of 3 flour tortillas ($1.00). It had mild flavor with large shrimp and perfectly cooked vegetables. A complimentary bag of chips and salsa were included. Pick-up was quick since the order was sitting on the shelf at the hostess stand. Overall, I had a good experience here and recommend it to others!

Our food was room temperature, my Diet Pepsi was very flat tasting. The amount of queso received for the cost was not worth it. The taste of everything was delicious. We had our food delivered so I'd understand if the food temp wasn't great but this restaurant is nearby and the delivery service picked it up and delivered REALLY quickly. I've eaten at this restaurant before and it's been decent so I'm hoping this was a fluke experience but honestly, VERY disappointing this time around.

It's my first time here with my family today 7/13/24... 10 pm there is a very good event but the service is VERY BAD the waiter is very rude and gives you a hard time. I work all week and the only day I have a break with my family, this waiter ruined everything... think twice before coming... aa and to finish the waiter told me they took the food to another table. and he doesn't apologize... he tells me he has to pay now... hahaha think about it before coming to spend time with the service or come eaten... The atmosphere is super good ;) and the waiter charged the tip without my authorization, the service was really very bad.

I would go to this restaurant every other month because I loved it so much. I went yesterday and they've changed management. The food, including the salsa, rice and beans and what I always order was much worse than usual. all of them were flavorless. Not only that, but when I got my check, apparently there were two different prices, the one on the menu, which is the one I thought I would pay, and that was for cash only and then a higher cost for credit card. I was extremely disappointed in everything. I will not be going back again!
