I ordered the beef noodle soup spicy. They put plenty of beef in it and it was pretty flavorful while not being oily. The size was perfect for me to eat in one sitting. Service was quick and to the point - I read some reviews that folks thought servers were rude - I didn't experience that and would say to set your expectations accordingly. They turn over customers quickly but never rushed me through my wheel.Great for a quick bite!

Stumbled upon this place because my dumb self completely forgot lunar new year and stores close up for holidays. Some how this establishment was still open.Got the open kitchen layout so you can see them prepping dumplings and noodles.Their beef noodle was decent, nice cuts of meat, but definitely needed the spicy oil to add some more flavor to it.Dumplings were good, I like how they don't charge you more for it to be in a soup. Prefect on cold rainy days.Saw them packing bags of frozen dumplings so I guess you can buy them and cook them at home too.

Great spot on Irving street that serves up simple yet delicious meals. I came on a Friday night and we had to wait about 20 minutes. It's a small restaurant with not much seating. When you're inside, you can watch as people make the dumplings to order. I would definitely order the beef noodle soup. It's big enough to share with another person. We ordered the Napa cabbage and pork dumplings which were soooo good. They were huge and made us full quickly. The cucumbers are a great side dish.I saw a lot of reviews about the service being iffy but I thought we had good service. They were fast but they weren't rude nor did they rush us.

Fortune has bestowed two Chinatowns on San Francisco. We all know about the first one, Chinatown proper; which is the finest one I've ever set foot in. Then there's the B-team - over in the Outer Sunset - down on Irving Street. While the municipal planners have not so designated this little enclave; it is, for all intents and purposes, a functioning Chinatown. I mean, if Oakland can claim Koreatown for those few blocks on San Pablo Ave.; or if L.A. Can distinguish the tiny strip on Fairfax as Little Ethiopia; then Irving Street is the Chinatown part deux for San Fran. Gastronomically speaking, the crown of Irving Street rests on the head of Yuanbao Jiaozi. The restaurant's namesake, the jiaozi, are dumplings. They exist far from the luxuries of the dim sum table. You can see peasant's carrying these jiaozi dumplings with them into the fields for their lunch. The dumpling makers construct them not with delicacy in mind, but durability. To be honest, I prefer the dumplings found in the dim sum galaxy. Still, there is room for the humble northern jiaozi in the dumpling universe. Their cucumber salad will refresh you. Their beef tendon salad will invigorate you. The thing to order here is the Lanzhou lamian. Lanzhou is a city in China's Gansu province, over in the northwest. The area is fairly Islamic. Lamian is a salient Chinese Islamic dish. This will be noticeable to you when the cinnamon hits your palate. The rich beef broth, seasoned with cinnamon, and coupled with the lingering cilantro from your salad will conjure up the pho experience. However, the fermented cabbage will hopefully transport you out of Vietnam and back to China's arid northwest. Also the noodles will be wheat, and hand pulled. This is, in fact, the definition of "lamian." "La" = hand pulled. "Mian" = noodle. Put 'em together and what do you get?!The Japanese, as is their wont, stole this from China. Thus, 'lamian' becomes 'ramen.' However, the Japanese do not hand pull ramen noods. They use not one, but two machines: one to mix, a second to roll and cut. It's ok. Everything has to come from somewhere. Only G-d can create from a vacuum.

No wait on a weeknight. There were plenty of tables available.Ordered an appetizer, Shredded Pig Ear in Chili Oil ($10), which was decent, not too spicy, and served cold. Also ordered 3 kinds of dumplings: Beef, Lamb, and Fish ($13); Shiitake Mushroom and Sole Fish ($12); and Pork, Shrimp, Chive, and Egg ($12). They each come with about 14 dumplings and were all tasty.

Ordered the shrimp leek dumpling and mushroom fish dumplings in soup. 12 dumplings in soup. The shrimp leek dumplings tasted homey and was great paired with the light soup 8.8/10 The mushroom fish dumplings weren't quiet to my taste. The fish in this is often cooked in porridge and I don't particularly like eating this kind of fish in a dumpling. Soup was amazing I ended up drinking most of it with the dumplings.

Perfect on a windy cold day in sf. The restaurant area located in outer sunset close by golden gates park. A lot of shops and restaurants around that area also. The restaurant is quite small. That you can see the chef making fresh dumplings.I think they are specialized in hand made fresh dumplings, so we ordered shrimp filling one and it was just ok but the food I would definitely comeback was the noodles, the beef was tender and the broth was great. Really comfort food for me.Totally comeback for more and will give dumplings a try one more time with different fillings.

Parking: street Seating: fairly limited. Good for smaller groups 2-4 people. Concise yet well varied menu which I appreciate. Cucumber salad was good and refreshing. Dumplings are handmade. You can see it being made through a window inside. It's light in flavor overall. I misunderstood and thought the menu meant they would be soup dumplings like XLB but it actually was served IN soup. You have chili oil, soy sauce, and vinegar at the table. Solid spot. Very home style, in my opinion. Don't expect crazy flavors, but you'll enjoy it for what it is. And reasonable prices imo.

Came here on a whim as a recommendation from a friend and it did not disappoint!Food: House Beef Noodle Soup, Napa Cabbage/Chicken & Corn Dumplings, and Sliced Pig Ears in Chili OilHouse Beef Noodle Soup:The soup was delightfully light yet had amazing flavor. It hits the spot when it's cold outside and you're looking for something to warm your stomach. In terms of serving size, it was the perfect amount to have and you're not overly full by the end of it.Napa Cabbage/Chicken & Corn Dumplings:Steamed dumplings were great - not anything out of this world but definitely solid. Definitely recommend getting some if you enjoy dumplings! I encourage people to try it with chili oil and/or black vinegar.Sliced Pig Ears In Chili Oil:Not as crunchy as I thought they would be but an excellent appetizer to munch on! I enjoy the seasoning they use as it is slightly spicy but not overtly.Service:The wait staff are extremely attentive and accommodating. Had a great experience with them!Ambiance:The shop is on the smaller side, but still an ample amount of seating. It is on Irving, so carve out time to find parking!Overall, good spot to drop by and have a quick dinner at with friends!
