I've been very curious about this spot and finally got to try it! It's an unassuming, hole in the wall restaurant serving very homey porridge and noodle soups. My partner and I were feeling under the weather and this was the perfect meal. Pork and preserved egg porridge (4/5) - good portion size and you could taste the ginger. This was perfect as a sick meal! My partner said that it's very comforting! Fish cake noodle soup (5/5) - the egg noodles were cooked perfectly and I loved that you could taste the seafood flavor of the broth, which I've never really tasted before but really really enjoyed. House special wonton soup (5/5) - didn't come with noodles but the wontons were packed, meaty, and juicyAlso their chili oil was tasty! Come here for a quick, comfort meal!

This is my go-to spot on Sunday mornings after a night out. It's an honest, mom&pop shop for authentic Cantonese food. My go-to's are the porridge and wontons. Wontons are packed and scrumptious. The curry here is also well balanced. The ambiance is simple and usually not too crowded here - have not had to wait for a table. An absolute neighborhood gem!

I have been on a wonton (noodle) kick lately and searching for a good bowl has been kind of been tricky. If I like the wontons, I don't always like the noodles or the how the noodles were prepared. Well, my first time here and I love my entire bowl of wonton noodle soup! It was delicious! The wontons are plump and delicious. The noodles are cooked just right, al dente with lots of chew. Eat this immediately when it comes out the kitchen with a little dash of white pepper and some (soy sauce) and vinegar, perfection! The iced lemon tea was okay. Forgot to let the waitress (maybe the boss lady ?) know that I don't want it sweetened but that was my bad, so I drank half. The boss had some language issues with another customer, so forgot to put my order in until 20 minutes later after she gave me my drink. But I was happy with my wonton noodles when I did get it, so all good. The potstickers I took to go as I didn't have time and needed to leave.Service was friendly and they do accept credit cards. I will be back.Located on Bryant St. and 16th St., about a block away from Sports Basement.

We came here looking for some comforting noodle soup on a cold day. It's a small, hole-in-the-wall place with not many people inside. It was a bit warm inside, likely due to limited ventilation. We ordered the House Special Wonton Soup, BBQ Pork & Wonton Noodle Soup, and Deep Fried Crispy Milk. Later, we noticed that some house specials were posted on the wall, not on the menu, so keep an eye out for those. The food came out after about 15-20 minutes. Both soups had the same kind of wontons, with a nice thin wrapping and juicy filling. The BBQ Pork & Wonton Noodle Soup had big pieces of pork, though they didn't have much of a BBQ taste, along with thin egg noodles. The soup was warm and comforting. The Deep Fried Crispy Milk was okay--not that crispy and came with an interesting sweet and sour sauce. The portion was quite large, so it's probably best shared between three or more people. The service was pretty hands-off but helpful when needed.Overall, it's a decent spot for wonton soup or a cheap meal.

Haven't tried the porridge, but the wonton noodle soup is decent and a good price. It's a bit of a hole in the wall kind of place, but that never bothers me.

12/3/23Hole in the wall chinese restaurant owned by a sweet old couple. Very small menu with limited selection so can't go wrong bc everything is straight forward. We got the beef stew noodle soup ($12) and pork rind, duck blood, and chinese leek ($16) which was written on a piece of paper taped on the wall lol.

While getting a smog check, I found this restaurant nearby. I ordered the Wonton Noodle Soup to-go, as I was short on time with only 20 minutes to spare. The order was prepared quickly, and I was in and out within 10 minutes. I returned to work and impressively, the food remained hot 20 minutes later. The serving included noodles, four wontons, and two Chinese vegetables, accompanied by chili sauce and red vinegar, by request. The portion was sufficient, noodles prefectly cooked and meaty wontons. The price was affordable ($11). Adding this spot to my list of work lunch destinations.

Newer Chinese restaurant opened up next to another Chinese restaurant we take out alot from.First thing I saw when I walked in was another diner having chicken curry. Well that was easy, checked the menu and they had beef stew curry, slam dunk! They also had pig's feet, double slam dunk!! Their menu had a good assortment of comfort foods on the menu like won tons and other noodle dishes. Of course I ordered the beef stew curry fully expecting the yellow curry that was served with the chicken but what a great surprise, the curry was a different one that i've never had before. They explained that the dishes are all cooked individually so they are allowed to vary how each dish is cooked. The dishes came out as they were cooked so nothing is cooled down like other restaurants that wait until the total service is ready for the the entire table which means in most cases someone's dish is coming out cold, I do hate when restaurants do that. Luckily most asian restaurants don't follow the way america restaurants serve food. The server was prompt in taking the orders and every dish was cooked to order and not serving pre cooked food other than dishes that require a longer cook time like the pigs feet. The pigs feet is a must order dish, it was super tender and oh so good. The curry beef stew is another dish definitely worth a try, I sure will reorder it.The restaurant was an older Japanese restaurant but I'm sure glad that these new owners took over and are cooking these wonderful dishes.
