My friend and I visited this restaurant for the first time, and we were absolutely blown away. Every dish we ordered was bursting with flavor, perfectly prepared, and simply delicious. The highlight for me was the spicy salsa--it had just the right balance of heat and depth, elevating every bite. The quality and attention to detail in the food left such an impression that I'd gladly return to try everything on the menu. If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience, I highly recommend this place!

Popped in here with my GF after skating around the city all day. It's a small spot, but they were super nice and gave us some place mats and we were able to dine in, which was great because we wanted to be able to sit for a minute to eat. I got the lunch special lamb plate and it was incredible. The quality of the lamb was amazing, and their rice is really good. I had to skip the side salad (can't do tomatoes anymore) but the stewed veggies were delicious and tender. The lamb though was the obvious star. Perfectly cooked and seasoned and delicious. My gf got the falafel wrap on yemeni bread and she said the falafel was perfectly crispy and all the other ingredients in the wrap paired well. She also loved the bread. I highly recommend dropping into this place for lunch if you can! A must visit for anyone who loves mediterranean style food for sure. Will visit again.

Most people cheering for the underdogs. I for most of the time also cheer for the underdogs too, unless those underdogs is not worth rooting for. Roasted lamb was succulent and tender, but flavor was lacking and for the price it was not of a good value. And hole in the wall can be overrated too.

The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but the delicious whif of smoke draws you right in. This little shop offers a delightful escape into the comforting flavors of Yemen. The start dish here caught my eye, and I knew I had to get that lamb kabsah to satisfy my inner cravings. The pieces of lamb tasted tender and soft. Fresh off from the oven, it's infused with aromatic spices. The best part is all that is served alongside basmati rice and just a touch of saffron. The place screams busy take-out orders from locals and friends, and that means you're going to be in for a treat! Just take a look at the kitchen, and you can see your dish all prepared and cooked right from the grill for you.

Went with the okay stew and the greasy bread the chef owner recommended. It's a poorly ventilated dingy take out space that smells and looks like oil is regularly being burnt. I think that's how Tawa is made. He was wiping sweat with his hand, handling food and cash taking orders, while talking to someone on the phone

During my usual Yelp adventures searching up different things to try I found this little gem! Yemen kitchen serves up authentic Yemeni cuisine. This hole in the wall has seriously delicious food. I was greeted by one of the owners who was very hospitable. I saw another patron eating foul which was sizzling in a classic stone pot which intrigued me so much I had to order one for myself. For people who don't know what foul/ful is - it's a stew of fava beans seasoned with olive oil, cumin, garlic & other delicious ingredients served typically for breakfast. I sat myself down and had a feast of roasted BONE in lamb & ful which had so much flavor I couldn't stop eating. After I was complete, the owners were amazed by my accomplishment. I will be back and highly recommend this Yemeni spot. Show some love to this amazing place.

A true local gem; an unassuming hole in the wall with heartfelt service and flavorful cuisine in generous portions. The chef here takes pride in his food, and it shows. If you are a tourist, this place is a diamond in the rough. Required eating if you desire to call yourself a SF foodie; a game changer and an institution of a dining establishment in a dynamic neighborhood. The service and quality of food here has changed the way I gauge restaurants in this city. Highly recommend visiting and taking the chef's recommendations seriously.

Don't let the wierd sign over the entrance fool you. This small and homey restaurant has absolutely amazing food. No ambiance, but with food this good, you won't look up while you eat. Sami served my son and I on a Sunday evening around 7pm. He was kind enough to spend some time explaining the menu. We were hungry! Sami and the Chef did not disappoint. We shared the Roasted Lamb Feast and Saltah Dinner Feast with Yemeni Flatbread. Saltah was a sleeper. It resembled stew with lamb, potato, carrots, etc. It arrived boiling in a cast iron low couldron style bowl with some off white creamy looking substance on top, reportedly frothy fenugreek. I can't say enough about this. I will order it every time I eat at Yemen Kitchen. The Roasted Lamb Dinner Feast was also excellent, but more of a classy dish with four beautifully roasted pieces of lamb with bones , off white delicious rice and some veggies that were artfully fried and seasoned. We topped off our meal with homemade Baklava. We bought four pieces to share with others who didn't join us. They were lucky we didn't eat the other two pieces......I'm sorry I didn't buy ten pieces. We were told another "sister" restaurant will be opening soon a few blocks away by the Warfield Theater on Market Street.
