What the Cluck - Geary

Ordering at What The Cluck is straightforward thanks to the kiosks, and you simply wait for your food at the pickup window. The place is very small, with only two spots to eat, and if you stay, you'll likely be back-to-back with other patrons waiting for their orders. On top of that, there was a loud TV to my right, which made the small space feel even more cramped and uncomfortable.This was my first visit, as it came highly recommended, but honestly, I didn't see the hype. The chicken tasted okay, but most of the pieces were quite dry. I ordered their classic dish with extra chicken livers, and while the rice was the best part of the meal, the portion sizes left me still feeling hungry. The broth was so small I barely noticed it.After spending over $21 for my meal, I couldn't help but feel like I could have gone to a sit-down spot and had a more satisfying experience.

I've been getting take out from this place through my work as well as my own lunch and the hainese chicken here is one of the best in the city. The service is always very consistent and the food is affordable.I also love the name

Ordered the classic chicken rice deliveryThe amount of chicken was abysmal. I'm very sorry to say. This isnt a full thigh or breast or the chicken being sourced is miniscule.The chicken was also very dry, quite unpleasant even with the sauce. With other chicken rice stores like Gai and Rooster and Rice in the same price range, I would not recommend this place given the options.

I ordered the ultimate main which was around $18 (the classic but add egg and chicken liver). 4 stars because the ingredients tasted fresh, chicken was not dry and the sauce was good!Knocked off a start due to the portion size. It seemed to be a lot of rice and decent amount of chicken but I only got one piece of liver. For the extra $3, I would expected at least two or 3 pieces of liver. Would get the classic next time!

I find it quite pleasing that another one bites the Cluck. Yep, this is the third shop that has opened to satisfy the cravings of the hoi polloi (that be me) for khao man gai. Not too long ago, you could find it in only a handful of Thai or Singaporean restaurants. In fact, the first time I had it was in a bustling hawker center in Singapore over two decades back. But now there's Gai Chicken Rice, Rooster & Rice, Good Gai's, Chicken Meets Rice, and on and on and on... This is one trend I can stand behind, and this one on the edge of the 'Loin between Hyde & Larkin. It's a compact space like the other two, just a small counter with no tables at this location. But I was so giddy to discover this spot quite unexpectedly that I ordered the $16.95 Ultimate. We had What the Cluck cater and the food was delicious! We had the crunchy chicken with rice, it came with a sweet sour looking sauce and cucumber slices. We also had the mango sticky rice. Ordering was easy and delicious! I would come again.

I got the classic chicken and rice dish off DoorDash for lunch today. For $15, this meal is actually quite filling. The bowl is packed with chicken breast and thighs over fragrant rice. There were cucumbers on the side but I got some extra as well. The meal also came with a chicken broth. Everything complemented each other super well - the sweet soy paste sauce poured atop the chicken and a bed of ginger rice. It was definitely a satisfying and healthy meal. Good bang for buck.

Yummy food for great value! I ordered dinner via Doordash ($5 off $25+ at this restaurant currently). The food arrived quickly and was very well packaged. Classic - chicken rice with chicken, brown or white rice, and slices of cucumber. Filling chunks of tender and flavorful chicken. Not as good as what I've had in Singapore, but pretty close! The garlic sauce is also delicious but more sweet than spicy, so I added some sirarcha as wellFresh coconut water ($6) - very refreshing and not too sweetMango with Sweet Sticky Rice ($6) - my favorite dish of my order! Still warm when I dug in. Juicy slices of mango covered in a thick, sweet coconut milk. Get this! Will be adding this restaurant to my delivery rotation!

Food acceptable. Order was accepted. Arrived at store to pickup and store was closed. This has happened twice in a row. Disappointing. Updating hours of operation would be helpful.

The Crispy chicken was alright. It had a decent crisp to it , but nothing special. I also got the ultimate and that chicken was dryer than the Sahara desert. Good luck finding parking.Ultimate 0/5Crispy 2/5
