WH42 is a food truck at Spark Social SF, which is a convenient location near offices. What attracted me to try this food truck for lunch over the other options in Spark Social SF is the aesthetic housemade purple Hawaiian taro buns I visited during my lunch break and ordered on the kiosk. I ordered a pork sandwich ($12). The sandwich was aesthetic, flavorful, and very filling. Every time I've visited WH42 for lunch, I've been impressed and satisfied

The pork sandwich is a 10/10. Homemade taro bun- the absolute best. Not only is it delicious, but it's a proper size and very filling. The best thing we had as we were hopping around trying things at the Spark Social Food truck park and the service was wonderful. Definitely coming back.

I had the chicken sandwich while the truck was at Spark social.Panko crusted, tonkatsu style, on a purple bun.The pickles and slaw that come on it really made it. Very crunchy and fried fresh. Great curly fries too.They should have side photos up showing the food! The truck also confusingly says "cash only" while having a credit card machine tasks your order. Probably a vibe they are going for but adds confusion.

I tried this place at Spark Social, which I believe is not the usual location. The chicken strips are about $11 and such a good deal. You get three good sized strips, bread, pickles, and a choice of sauce. The Magic Sauce was pleasant at first, but not flavorful enough. It is also unnecessarily aggressively purple, so definitely watch out if you're nervous about staining your clothes/fingers. The strips weren't as flavorful on their own, but tasted delicious in a sandwich. I might try this place again, but would recommend ordering a sandwich and a stronger sauce. The truck says Cash Only, but unsure if this is true.

Writing this review for the fried eggplant sandwich - incredible. We came while my partner's ACL surgery was going on a brief 10 minute walk away; if you are in the same boat then I highly recommend going to Spark Social for the spacious seating and variety of food! My partner's mom was with me and she's vegetarian so it was awesome that this truck had the fried eggplant. We ended up splitting it and some other food from nearby.The bun is blue from taro; didn't taste any different to me but was very light and fluffy. The eggplant was so so crispy - it's made to order, and with the slaw is just amazing. I like that it's not quite as heavy afterwards as say, a fried chicken sandwich might be. We tried two sauces - one was a bright habanero one (still not super spicy) and one was much thicker, dark red, and fairly hot, really delicious. If you're a vegetarian (or just into eggplant!) I would recommend stopping by!

The BEST Chicken sandwich in San Francisco. I like the grilled chicken with bacon and cheese. The bread is soft, and the coleslaw is fresh and crispy. (Add pickled onion) Customer service is on point. Staff is friendly, and they get food out in a timely manner. Parking can be a hassle, but I usually park in Costco with NO problems. You can find WH42 at 428 11 St. Right across the street from Costco in San Francisco. Monarch Gardens has a liqour truck, a barber shop, and jumpers for the kids. Overall, I give this place a 10/10.By the way, they are now on Grub Hub, and Door Dash is coming soon. Enjoy!

These chicken strips were so good! Perfectly crispy and juicy. I loved the redish sauce (can't remember the name) the most! The ranch had a little too much dill for me (but I'm adverse to dill so that's a personal preference). I loved the homemade pickles were so good and fresh too. The owner was lovely as well!Definitely recommend checking out this truck.

Grabbed a chicken sandwich during the Haight street fair a while ago and honestly this place wasn't worth it for me. I waited over 40 minutes for a chicken sandwich and curly fries. The line didn't seem very long either but the owner was trying to be as accommodating as possible. When I got my chicken sandwich the chicken was dry and it wasn't warm anymore which made me wonder if I could've received my order sooner than I did. Curly fries were solid but nothing to write home about.

Delicious on all counts. The unique bread was very fresh, the dressings (coleslaw and other very tasty and well-seasoned sauces). I got the eggplant version and would come back to this part of town just for this sandwich. Several layers of panko fried eggplant. So good. Large sandwich. Service was friendly and down-to-earth. Highly recommend.
