I don't know why the ratings are low. I've been ordering from here for years and the pizza is simply good pizza with no fancy frills or fees attached. They will go out of their way to honor special requests. The sausage is definitely homemade and the veggies are fresh. Moreover, you can just call them and have a pizza delivered without going through expensive delivery apps.

There are so many choices for Pizza in San Francisco and Village Pizzeria has been in the city for some time. The location was a consideration too as I was staying near by. So off I walk, I enter, there is nothing fancy bout this place. Lots of old photos of SF on the wall. Large TV. Simple older wood tables that can be refurbished, piping in some music would add some ambience, but let's get to the Pizza.Luis is the Pizza maker. He has been making pizza for many years & just came back from New York trying various pizzas there. He believes the pizza at Village is just as comparable.I decided to order a 9" individual with sausage & salami, thin crust and made sure it wasn't cracker thin because I enjoy eating the puffy, crunchy crust. It was the perfect size and super tasty. The large, high heat ovens bake the dough & toppings to perfection, you can taste the herbs of oregano & lite fennel. Lots of sausage & thinly slices of salami. So satisfying. They also sell by the slice but I wanted to make sure I got a piping hot fresh, made to order pizza. I can highly recommend Village Pizzeria. The surrounding residents are so lucky to have a great pizzeria nearby they also serve other Italian classics. For those zooming by Van Ness Ave. order a pizza for pick up. It's delish.

This pizzeria has been here for decades and it is still my favorite place to get clam & garlic pizza! If you've never tried it, I highly recommend it if you're a fan of clams! Very friendly staff here too!

First time here in October of 2024. We had a four topping medium pizza that cost $37.00. The pizza was good but a bit overpriced. We also split a house salad that was good but I was charged $3.00 for some extra salad dressing. Pizza gets 3.5 stars, prices get 2.5 stars.

One of the best and most consistent slices ion SF now that Arinell is no more (sigh!)I am missing the Clement street location that has been under construction for quite some time now.I have always said this is one of the best NYC style slices in the city that is not super pricey (Sure Tony's is excellent, also Amici's - but about 50% more expensive)They have a good lunch special too - a slice, salad and a drink for like $9.99 (I think)I love sitting at the counter and watching the pizzaiolo do his thing!

Came in at 9pm after a 12hr day to have some pizza and a beer and was told we couldn't sit down and eat so we carried out. Never would come back here again. Really sad that we did not feel welcomed. Bummer bc I like the one in LA

After a reception for a book launch at the Alliance Française de San Francisco... we stopped in to Village Pizzeria for a quick bite. OMgosh it was incredible! Just a little friendly place with a full Italian menu. The Spinach salad with Balsamic dressing was so delicious I could barely believe it! Fresh with olives, feta, roasted almonds, tomatoes, spinach and oranges. I highly recommend ! I ordered the pesto chicken pizza slice and was very impressed with the garlic olive oil italian essence in each bite plus the excellent thin crust. Wow! Hope I end up in SF soon to try another item from the menu! Very reasonably priced.

I walked in there to ask about the pizza, was hoping there was some display of some pieces, which is fine, but the manager, her personality, was so dry, maybe she was having a bad day, it was completely empty, but she seemed like, why are you bothering me, so I felt like, this isn't very welcoming, so fine, I will go somewhere else, she seemed like why are you bothering me? Like what do you want
