Umai Savory Hot Dog offers a unique twist on classic comfort food, and it's definitely worth a visit! I recently tried the Big Mozzarella Cheese Stick, and while it was deliciously crispy on the outside with that perfect cheese pull, I felt it could use a bit more seasoning to really elevate the flavor. The Houston Honcho hot dog, though, absolutely hit the spot! Loaded with toppings and bursting with flavor, it's definitely one of my new favorites. The combination of spicy and savory is just right without being overwhelming.I also got the Umai House Fries, which were crispy, well-seasoned, and a great side to round out the meal.Overall, the food was great, but a little more attention to seasoning on the apps would make it a 5-star experience. Definitely a solid spot for fast food

Let's start with the sham of a name. It's listed as Umai, but the receipts say "Frank & Furter's". I ordered the special - wings and fries for $8.50. The wing flavor was "Cluckbanger," which for the record apparently means "inedible salt lick." There was a mild barbecue tone under the salt lick. They only carry bottled water,Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, and Lemonade - be prepared for exceptionally limited options to dilute the salt. Remarkably the fries were understated -So maybe I eat them together ? I've had great food at Umai, but not sure I'll be revisiting "Frank & Furter's" any time soon. Just to clarify the receipt and the charge both indicate frank & Furter's

I have to admit it's kinda depressing in the food court of the former Westfield mall, now just called the San Francisco Centre. The mall itself has become a virtual ghost town, and the food court not much more populated, at least compared to its heyday. That didn't prevent me from my quest for a good Chicago dog that didn't require going to Chicago.I came upon this kiosk and soon realized the staff was in a relative state of disengagement given the paucity of customers. I had my eye on the $8.75 Chicago Chopper which was described in Chicago dog terms: angus beef dog, neon relish, dill pickles, sports peppers, diced onions, yellow mustard, tomato slices, and celery salt (photo: https://yelp.to/lWE5iPd3K9).All the key components were accounted for. However, proportions seemed off as there wasn't nearly enough relish or pickles in there. Adding insult to injury, I made it a combo for $13.25 which gave me an unnecessary side of not-bad fries but a much needed Diet Pepsi. Well, at least I found a place nearby for a faux-Chicago dog.FOOD - 3 stars...not quite the Chicago dog of my dreamsAMBIANCE - 3 stars...well, there are plenty of free tablesSERVICE - 2.5 stars...on the disengaged sideTOTAL - 3 stars...if you need a hot dog real badRELATED - Exploring western SoMa? We decided to check out this restaurant located on the first floor dining area because it had the shortest line and we were also craving some hotdogs. I ordered the bulgogi hotdog and my fiancé ordered the Hawaiian bang bang hotdog. The food took about 15 to 20 minutes to come out which was a little disappointing but nonetheless the hotdogs tasted amazing and were definitely filling. I'd give it a try again! It's located in a food court so don't expect the ambiance to be anything specially. Can never go wrong with a speciality hotdog

I ordered off of their daily deal menu and got the Kyoto Fire. I didn't realize that the daily deal comes with fries (it was on the poster, but it wasn't listed in the description when I ordered via kiosk). It's such a great deal! Otherwise, $8 for their hot dog, even though it's "loaded", is a bit overpriced since the portion is a bit small. With the fries, however, it was well worth the price. The Kyoto Fire wasn't that memorable. It wasn't spicy either even though it had jalapenos. I'd give that a 3 out of 5. Their fries was sooooooooo good though. Perfectly crispy, well-seasoned, and great portion size! Honestly, this is probably one of the best fries I've had in a while.

A completely ordinary mall restaurant that serves odd hot dogs with creative toppings. It's exactly what you would expect from a mall food court, and it's a perfectly adequate meal that avoids the boredom of fast food chains. I wouldn't seek this out, but it's a definite improvement over McDonalds.

Not horrible but not great either. My friend and I decided to grab some hot dogs for lunch after a day of shopping. We wanted to see how these hot dogs compared to the street hot dogs we usually get. In summary, they didn't come close to the street dogs outside and it was over priced.Edit: I will never be eating here EVER again after the condescending messages I've gotten from the Business Manager. I left my honest review - the food is mediocre. It's mall food so don't have high expectations.

Umai Savory Hot Dogs is located in Westfield food court level. I've been seeing tons of Umai locations sprouting up everywhere now, well, every mall now, and I've been interested in trying them out for awhile for some time. Decided to drop by this location since I was at Westfield anyways, and ordered off their Daily Deal menu. They have quite a selection of other selections on the menu, various hot dog styles, other non-hot dog things, so you can certainly visit for more than just hot dogs here.Pricing is pretty reasonable, especially since in this food court many other places will be just a tad more expensive, though, their regular non-Daily Deal menu once you added a side of fries to it will still come out to about the same price, but hey, at least you got options for both.Ordering here is self-ordering pos, so you just go to the counter on the right side and put everything into the kiosk there. Straight forward and simple. Got here when they first opened, so no issues with service or wait time that I can speak of for this visit. So, how are the hot dogs at this hot dog place? Well, mediocre, but it's not because it tasted mediocre but other issues.I got the Manhattan combo for the day, which comes with a side of fries.Fries are the skinny fries, it was good, but could have used more seasoning. But they're fries, so who really cares about that for this conversation? The Manhattan hot dog was basically just a regular hot dog with relish, ketchup, mustard, and then there were sprinkles of onions on it. And when I say sprinkles, it was more like a pinch of it. The one thing that probably could have salvaged this hot dog were the onions, but as you can see from the pictures, they were much more focused on relish than they were on anything else, lol.The hot dog bun was good. Made well, nice and soft, and wasn't doughy or stale at all, so that's an upside. The hot dog itself was alright. Got the Angus beef hot dog. It was tender, no specific issue there. Didn't really have all that much flavor to it, but it tasted okay. The most egregious action today though was that my hot dog didn't even arrive hot, and was barely even lukewarm when I started eating it. And it wasn't an issue that I didn't eat it right away, as the bun was still nice and toasty warm, and the fries were quite hot still, but the hot dog itself, was just barely warm enough for it to feel like it's fresh.Look, I understand hot dogs aren't exactly made fresh to order, and they were probably put onto rollers for a little bit to keep them warm. However, it feels like they didn't even attempt to re-heat whatsoever when they fulfilled the order and dropped it off to me. Eating a barely warm hot dog in a warm toasty bun, with hot fries, really just threw off everything about the meal to me.The size of the meal was fine actually, and had the hot dog actually been warmer-hot, I feel this was a great deal comparatively to all the other spots that are in this food court. The hot dog itself was pretty large, and the side of fries from the Daily Deal, really made it a good value portion perspective. But it just wasn't good in the end because it wasn't actually heated/re-heated properly upon receiving it.I may come back again because it wasn't terribly expensive comparing to other spots of what you get from the meal, and many of the components were fine, but when you can't even properly heat a hot dog, I take issue with naming yourself Delicious Savory Hot Dogs, and the one thing that wasn't tasty was the hot dog.

When I had Umai Dogs for the first time at Foodieland, I remember it made my stomach feel really weird for the whole day. Not sure if it was the mayo or what, but after that experience, I never wanted to set foot at this place any time soon during that time. But I decided to give this place another shot a few years later. Might I say it was definitely a redemption for me! This place is located inside Westfield Mall on the bottom floor where all the food is stationed at and there's a whole variety of different things to try out. Umai's has a plethora of different hot dogs on their menu, so you have a pretty diverse pool to choose from. This time, I decided to get the bulgogi dog. It was really good! The hot dog combined with the bulgogi beef was definitely a treat and the extra condiments on top definitely gave it that asian flare which was really nice. I really enjoyed the creativity behind their hot dogs and I thought it tasted pretty good. Wasn't the biggest fan of the bun but everything else made up for it. This one definitely makes up for my first experience and I would come back again!
