Fresh & Flavorful Dumplings at Today Food - Worth the Wait! While exploring Chinatown, my boyfriend and I stumbled upon Today Food, a small dumpling spot that turned out to be a perfect stop for a quick yet satisfying bite.We ordered the steamed chicken with corn dumplings and the steamed shrimp dumplings--both were freshly made, steaming hot, and absolutely delicious. This is a great place to grab a quick snack while touring the area, especially if you're on a food binge and hopping from one spot to the next. The dumplings did take a little time to arrive, but that's because they were made fresh to order. And trust me, it was worth the wait! Plus, the experience was even more enjoyable as we got to watch the skilled women handcrafting dumplings right in front of us.If you're in Chinatown and craving authentic, fresh dumplings, Today Food is definitely worth a stop!

Cute little mom and pop shop in Chinatown. There are only 3 tables inside but we were attracted by the ladies making the dumpling and scallion pancakes! The couple running the place are cute, an adorable pair of school aged boys came in to explain their excitement of CNY parade and the couple listened with enthusiasm. The pan fried dumplings were delicious with lots of filling in a thin wrapper. The scallion pancake was delicious, such a flavorful filling. We were happy to have stumbled upon this gem!

For the people who've traveled and had dumplings before - 3.5 stars for Dumpling flavor, quantity and price 3.75 stars for Customer Service, you do get some attention hereOverall Rating: 3.5/5 stars If you've never been to a dumpling place, you may like or give this place 4+ stars, but will not be that for this review. If you're cool with that, do read on: So a group of friends and I were pretty much starving after being out in the area during the day, and wanted a small snack before taking a trip back home. We wanted to grab something decent nearby and saw Today Food. Located around a small shopping area, not too far from the financial district area, but also about a mile away from the south part of Chinatown. It's a tiny shop, with like two very basic high tables and seats that didn't look really comfortable, but we only ordered to-go. Their menu is pretty short and sweet, and had some soup and dumpling options. My friends and I went for the dumplings. I ordered the Shrimp and Chive Egg Dumpling, which came with about 12 dumplings for about $14.50 before tax. That's actually fairly priced-up for tiny dumplings, but it's also because of the location of this shop, it works for the neighborhood. I honestly was looking for some amazingly tasting dumplings, but man...it was actually pretty disappointing. It didn't taste bad, but...it tasted like the frozen dumplings you can purchase from the grocery store that you can get for like half the price. So yeah, overpriced dumplings with more on the blander side of flavor. If you've got time, I'd recommend walking over or taking the bus into Chinatown and get some better stuff that will actually be worth your bills and fill your belly properly, even if you're only looking for a snack. Come here if you're curious to try this place though, or just don't really care and are hungry. But there's nothing splashy or really much chopstick-worthy dumplings here.

Absolutely bomb. We were randomly looking for a place to eat near Chinatown, strolled by their window and saw them making dumplings fresh, and decided to stop in. No regrets!!We got a serving of the cold potato slices to start. Super delicious; really crunchy but fully cooked through, strong vinegar flavor balanced with a bit of heat. We then got one portion of shrimp chive egg pot stickers and one of pork and cabbage steamed dumplings. I've never had chive egg pot stickers before, but they were fantastic. Really juicy, and tastes similar to jiu cai he zi (chive egg empanada thingie). The steamed ones were even better; just as juicy and really tender. The wrappings were amazing on both; nice bounce and chew without being stiff. Staff was also super friendly and constantly smiling at us. Highly highly recommend!!

This restaurant was such a nice stumble upon find. It's small but I love being able to see the dumplings being made. The pork and cabbage dumplings were so juicy and the wrappers were so soft and melted in your mouth. The chili oil SLAPPED and elevated the dumplings so so much. My friend got the soup dumplings and the BROTH that it COMES IN. I CANTTT it was so yummy, it made me wish I got that haha. The cucumber salad was also so refreshing and I love love chives so the pancake was great too. The ladies working were so sweet as well. I can't wait to come back!!

Super delicious, home style dumpling place that make them fresh and frozen for to-go. The tables were clean & service was friendly and fast. So friendly that I overheard the chef instruct a customer on the best method to boil the frozen dumplings they were getting to-go. For $13 you get 15 dumplings, Boil water to boil, add a half cup when it does and repeat 4 times!Really enjoyed the pork and sauerkraut dumpling, egg and chive pancake and potato salad. Will be coming back here for a quick bite next time!

When in Chinatown, I like to roam and find new things. I found this little place that used to be a hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant but has now become a dumpling place. I wanted to try the T-burger, which reminded me of something I had eaten in Taiwan. This one tastes different, like the Szechuan style with a spicy kick. The lady was friendly and took my order right away. You can tell by the window they make the dumplings fresh.
