Tia Margarita Mexican Restaurant

The queso is the way queso is meant to be. Hot, bubbly, and so cheesy! Bottomless chips and salsa are complimentary. The margaritas are 99% tequila which isn't my thing but other people seem to enjoy that. Enchiladas are just okay and I'll pass next time. The surprise for me was the burrito. So big and full of flavor! Next time, I'm trying the chimichanga.Vibes of the restaurant are dark and intimate, which I enjoy. Prices can be high but the plates are big enough for 2 people to share. Especially if you start with the queso, which I 100% recommend. I recommend making a reservation which is easy to get. The waitlist can get long and the bar area is always full. Parking can be tricky, so plan ahead and expect to circle a few times. Overall, love this place!

I have a friend who's been dining here for decades. He took his wife there for dinner the other night for a very special occasion and told the waitress he proposed to his wife there 43 years ago to the day. He asked if the restaurant's owner was there and asked the waitress to share his story and occasion. The waitress was delighted and explained the granddaughter of the founder was the owner and was working that night. My buddy wasn't expecting anything except maybe a congratulations from the owner. ZERO. The waitress told the owner sitting two booths away and she didn't have the courtesy of greeting two very special people who drove a long distance for a fun and memorable experience.This goes to show, that true hospitality doesn't always exist. And that's SAD!!!Very Sad!

Amazing local Mexican restaurant in the Outer Richmond. The drinks are strong and the food is plentiful. Friday and weekend nights are the most lively--would recommend making reservations so you don't have to wait. The queso appetizer is a MUST!!!! Love the chile rellenos. Wish the rice was fluffier and more flavorful. If you like spicy, make sure you get the their special salsa!

Margarita was great with perfect ratio of alcohol and sweetness! Refried beans and rice were to die for! I personally got one beef and one chicken flauta and it was delicious! My friends enjoyed their meals as well. Prices are definitely on the higher side hence the minus of a single star, but other than that everything was great! Portions of the food were huge, interior and atmosphere were great, and the waiters were personable and kind!

Truly an experience to remember! The service is always excellent. They make you feel welcome and part of their family. The food is a delight for the senses! Every dining experience I have ever had has been exceptional. The margaritas are top notch.

3.5Decent food, pretty american-ized, not super authentic. Portions are fine not great for the comparatively high prices. So know before you go. You won't be finding the more legit meat options like all pastor, lengua, cabeza, nor dishes like menudo or caldo.Enchiladas Rancheros and Enchiladas Verde were both tasty. Ask for the spicy salsa. Our server Luis, who's apparently been here for years, was top notch. Great attitude, service, and energy. He was even able to customize my order so I could try one of each enchiladas as mentioned above. Well done and much appreciated

We literally only had margaritas and paloma's and chips but the vibes were immaculate. Antonio as our server and was a sweet angel. He brought so much joy to our day and we felt transported to mexico with the music, patio, and flowers outside. 10/10 recommend a sunny Sunday here!

So glad to visit Tia's again today. Great food, reasonably-sized portions, fantastic margaritas, and incredibly friendly/attentive service to boot. A solid choice for those with kids and plenty of budget-friendly menu options. We sat outside, but the vibe was perfect. Honestly can't think of much more I'd look for in a neighborhood restaurant. Looking forward to our next visit.

This place is a neighborhood gem. The food and drinks were elegantly presented. We order a pitcher of margaritas blended with salt in the rim. The combination plated Mexican items were fresh and delicious. We got chips and salsa. The service was amazing attentive. The food and drinks were slightly on the higher priced side but if you want a great meal you should give it a try. The bar and tables were full for a weekend night. The have TVs showing sporting events.
