The Village

The neighborhood is so lucky to have this gem. Eric and Lisa make this place feel like home. They offer great service and an amazing array of menu options. There are traditional dishes and delicious vegan options. My weekly lunch is a grilled tofu wrap that I load up with Sriracha. This comes with a side of fresh fruit. Filling and satisfying. They also have a vegan breakfast burrito and vegan nachos. It's great to be able to grab breakfast, lunch or brunch with friends in a warm neighborhood spot with an inclusive menu that pleases all diets.

Had a great Sunday brunch at The Village. Ordered a pitcher of mimosa, a coffee, and of course I had to try the pancake tacos (California, Savory, and Sweet). The servers were super friendly and attentive. The restaurant is a cozy, relaxing, and inviting space with a small bar seating area and many tables along one side of the wall. Prices and portion sizes are very reasonable.

The pancake tacos here are to die for. You can mix and match, even with the lunch tacos. Our meal was delicious. Sweet, savory, and perfectly filling. 10/10, will definitely be back. The service and ambiance are easy going, homey, and relaxed. This was the perfect morning brunch spot.

Very cute place and has a warm and welcoming staff. We were greeted and seated right away. We received our coffee soon after we were seated and it was very good. My husband ordered gravy and biscuits and I ordered the classic breakfast.Both meals were cooked perfectly, and the food is reasonably price. If you are looking for a good breakfast at a reasonable price I recommend you come here.

I love the Village. It's my neighborhood Cafe and breakfast spot of choice. It is also the home of the pancake tacos. You're thinking what is pancake tacos?It's exactly what it says pancake tacos. They have savory versions consisting of vegan or chicken or beef tacos in a pancake or sweet ones consisting of strawberries and bananas. And the second one is s'mores which has Nutella, graham cracker pieces and whipped cream. I kid you not. They're sweet decadence but they're worth it. You can get three for $15 or $6 per one.My other favorite is the chicken nachos for $15 or the chilaquiles for $18 or the quesadilla with chicken for $18. It's all about the quality. And the steamy hot food and the friendly restaurant manager Erik's charm and customer service focus that really makes experience holistic and memorable. Whenever I come in I feel like I'm part of their extended family and a great way to start out the day. Oh yeah, the bottomless coffee unlimited for $3 is super strong.And can I just say that the prices are super inexpensive especially for brunch and breakfast spots. So if you come to the pulp gulch you've got to come check out the Village ;)

Food: Breakfast Fiesta BowlThis is a short walk from the Toyota Maintenace center on Van Ness. I didn't want to stay cooped up for 2 hours, so I wandered around and found this place.Their menu was posted outside and looked reasonable. When entering, the place is well lit with a bar and a dining area. You can sit anywhere, so I decided on the bar section since I liked the lighting (it's got sunlights).The place is pretty quiet. It seems locals frequent this place as its customers tend to sit back and enjoy the meal, with a book in hand. Service is fairly quick, and since the ambiance leans towards the relaxed, they're happy to make small talk or leave you alone with your book.I would come definitely come back.

Finally! Something different! The village is such a vibe!! A little escape from the city. I love this place! The food from Karibu East Africa was so exotic and delicious at the same time. Granted, this is my first time having East African Food and it did not disappoint, it was such an FUN experiment! OMG! The Mishkakis (beef skewers) were my favorite! So tender and juicy, while the samosa was so crispy + tasty- perfect with the ginger sauce. The Chips Masala was so addicting, imagine french fries + ketchup with a hint of masala. The Kuku choma (grilled chicken) and the Samaki Choma (fried tilapia) are a must! Tasty and tender! The owners were super friendly, funny, and welcoming, the food was so tasty!! The chef came out and gave us a little history lesson on how + why African food was influenced by India and the British. So cool!The Village offers American-Mexican breakfast/brunch daily, and East African dinners on Friday + Saturday. Must try!!

Amazing food! I had the grilled cheese sandwich with basil tomato soup that was to die for! I added some ham in my Sandwich for some extra protein. Place was cute and bright with skylights

The home of the pancake tacos DID NOT disappoint!!! I ordered a savory, California, and sweet combo of tacos... sooooo yum!!! Love the vibe too, very cute, giving classic diner/cafe energy! Our waiter was awesome too, very attentive and gave us anything and everything we needed.

The food is incredible, big fan of the pancake tacos and my favorite dish oreo pancake amazing, everyone really nice and good service.Oreo pancake it's no in the menu but they still make it for me that so sweet.
