Popped in on a Sunday night for SF beer week. Located in the mission this divey spot felt like a good atmosphere and group of regulars that we were catching on any given night. They also host trivia which intrigues me, and had a wealth of board games to play and a tasty sounding bar menu. Their outdoor patio in the back and pay what you can art work from local artists on the walls gives the impression of community which I liked!

A fun local spot to grab a quick bite or drink!I got there at 6pm on a Monday and it was empty but quickly filled up by 7pmUpon walking in, it seems small but there's actually a whole back patio area with plenty of benches for larger groups and heat lamps to keep warm.We had:Poutine - good amount of cheese and gravy to fries. A solid bite if you're craving this! Sliders (fried chicken, beef, caprese) - nice to have a variety of bites in one meal. Nothing special, fairly standard bar food but nice to have variety.

Located on the corner between two alleyways, one being Clarion, a street art adorned path that famously depicts slices of SF's colorful history, this is the Willows (12th at Folsom) sister location in terms of the ownership. the front door leads to a somewhat tightly packed space just wide enough for small groups and is low lit with local art hung on the walls. there's an impressive selection of beers, local and from afar and the bartenders are attentive even whilst preoccupied preparing or pouring drinks for others. a narrow corridor leads you to a spacious patio with plenty of benches, corner spots and music being piped out from the interior. haven't tried the food in a while but I remember it not being offensive in the slightest and just good enough to induce continuous inebriation. even some of the djs spin decent tunes. wink wink.

Nestled in the vibrant Mission District, The Sycamore offers a cozy retreat from the bustling streets of San Francisco. With its rustic décor and intimate ambiance, it's the kind of place that immediately feels like home, albeit with a few quirks. The service at The Sycamore is fairly average. The menu is somewhat limited, featuring a selection of small plates and sliders. Despite the lack of variety, what they do offer is crafted with care and bursts with flavor. I tried the BLT slider, beef slider, and fried chicken slider, each offering its own unique and delicious experience. The pork belly sliders are another must-try--succulent and seasoned to perfection. The fries also deserve a special mention, providing a deliciously decadent side to any meal.A single-stall bathroom serves the entire establishment, which can be inconvenient during peak hours. It's clean and well-maintained, but you might find yourself waiting in line, especially on weekends. The Sycamore is a delightful spot for those seeking a relaxed, no-frills dining experience with a touch of local flair. While it has its minor drawbacks, the inviting atmosphere and delicious fare make it worth a visit. If you're in the area and craving something simple yet satisfying, The Sycamore is certainly worth checking out.

Came here for a friend's birthday. In the back of the bar, they have a semi-open patio dining area with picnic style tables. We got the Sycamore Chicken and Waffles. I love that it's not an ordinary waffle but a Belgian-Style Waffle stuffed with prosciutto and manchego cheese, pretty unique! There were really big pieces of prosciutto and it wasn't super cheesy, but the flavors still came through. The fried chicken was decent, tasty and drizzled with Makers Mark Maple Syrup. Love that you can get either a half or full portion of this! (Half order is basically a two quarters of a whole Belgian waffle. We also got a Carnitas Benedict, but honestly, there wasn't anything too special about this one. The sopes were on the harder side, so it was hard to cut. It was topped with a decent amount of carnitas, poached egg, roasted jalapeno, hollandaise, pico de gallo, and cotija cheese.Of course we had to try their famous Pork Belly "donuts." The group ordered a few orders of these so everyone could try one. Pieces of pork belly are battered and fried. On the outside is a bourbon maple syrup glaze and some sea salt. They were interesting, but not sure if I'd pay 3 something a pop for them. I'd say, try them at least once!

cute and cozy restaurant/bar! the vibe of this place is very homey, with communal picnic tables in the back patio and more tables inside along the wall. the service was really great and food arrived quickly. they have you order at the bar and then they bring the food to you! prices are reasonable.i had the chicken and waffles half portion, which was a good snack size (definitely order the full size if youre hungry). the waffle has prosciutto and cheese inside and is drizzled with maple syrup! the chicken was crispy, but slightly dry. overall i liked it - a good balance of sweet and savory flavors with contrasting textures.my friend had the carnitas benedictos, which they said were good (a little spicy)this seems like a good place for casual brunch with friends (they do bottomless !) but it didn't blow me away.

The sycamore was an interesting bar in the mission that one of my cousins found and chose. It gives off dive bar like vibes but was very clean and cozy in the front which was nice. The back also had a large outdoor area that had a roof but was still nice to get a bit of an outdoor vibe. They had interesting beers on taps and some wine but they didn't seem to have any hard alcohol. I will say it was a little weird that all the drinks we ordered were not in pint glasses but in smaller cups, that threw me off a bit. They had a good menu and a lot of people were ordering food, I didn't have any but the people around me seemed to like the artichokes a lot. They also seem to have bingo Wednesdays that were fun and the guy running it did a great job in making it fun. It was a good time but I probably won't make the trek to the mission to visit again.

A secret gem! My friends and I tried this place for bottomless mimosas and were greatly impressed! The deals were fantastic (2 hours of bottomless) and the brunch food was delicious - the chicken and waffles are a must. The ambiance was so fun, arty, quirky, but in the best way and the service was quick and super helpful. For bottomless the refills were very quick and the drinks were not watered down which I loved. A must try!

FAS SystemFood: not great but what do you expect coming. To to a dive bar. It ain't Portland but it tries to be. Back to the food. Ordered a tuna melt but it taste fishier than well whoever you can imagine that's fishy if you know what I mean. NO PICKLES. How you eat a tuna melt without pickles. Fries are so so but not bad, typical fries. Tuna melt didn't stick in the sense that the bread feels detached. Anyways it's a dive bar I give it a 2.5.Atmosphere: tries to be Portland but isn't. It's sf and the mission ain't the mission. 1 hot broad in the whole place. It's great if you like smoke dive bars without the smoke and snow. I give it a 4 because of the projected movie crap.Service: service is whatever the hell you expect from dive bar, standard take your order crap. 3?Total: 9.5 / 3 is what. I'm in tech idk what's your answer. Apparently it's 3.17Total: 3.2
