This spot in SF is so popping and full of Chinese people, so you know this place is legit and delicious. I only came for their cherng fun and I got it to go because we had to leave for a flight to LA. I got the bbq pork cherng fun ( sorry if I can't spell correctly, I just woke up). You better know how to speak Canto or Mando when you're ordering because these ladies don't have the time in the world to be trying to decipher what you're saying in English. lol luckily I know how to speak Canto and order my dish, they are quick and efficient. My order took around 15 minutes to prepare because they were so backed up with all the people in there. It's a fairly small restaurant so you have to wait for a table. I enjoyed the cherng fun very much, it was soft, flavorful, and authentic. I still prefer NYC style of cherng fun, I hate to say it but they the best out there. I suggest coming here if you want an authentic experience. Don't expect fine dining when you come here, but please give it a try and support local business out here in SF, especially in Chinatown. I'd come back again.

We came here in a pinch because all other restaurants were packed and/or were closed for service during LNY parade. Not sure if this is consistent with their regular vibe but when we came everyone was served with paper plates and cups. Maybe the dishwasher in the back was broken? Or they don't have one? Unsure but it took me by surprise. Service was ok, but there's so many other places in Chinatown I'd rather go to.

My friend always raves about this restaurant as her favorite cheung fun (i.e., crepe rice noodle) spot, so I had to make the trip into Chinatown to try Spicy Shrimp... and boy have they mastered their craft here. The rice noodles here are light, thin, and spread evenly with copious amounts of your protein choice (beef pictured) for a perfect bite every time. Unlike the typical dim sum rice noodles, this street-style dish is customizable with extra toppings like egg (my favorite) and corn. One plate was honestly plenty for lunch to me and my friend - great value for money at $7~9 per person. The only caveat from my last few visits was the cramped spacing and one occasion where the kitchen forgot our order. Would check in with a waiter after 15mins or so.

The Rice noodle rolls!!!! My go to order is the rice noodle rolls, as well as the cold honey lemon tea. If I'm in the mood for something sweet and savory I will also get the hot soy milk with Chinese donut. The rice noodles are spongy, have a decent amount of meat/shrimp and have just the right amount of pull. They come with a side of sweet vinegar which just elevates the dish to a whole other level! Each table also has a pot of house chili oil, which is absolutely delicious and I recommend adding a little bit on all your dishes to elevate the flavor. If you are craving some good rice rolls and solid Cantonese food definitely check out the spicy shrimp in Chinatown!

First time trying this place for lunch with family members. I have to say this is one of the best classic cantonese dish. The shrimp steam rice noodle, tasted like the one from China. Absolutely delicious! The pork with Preserved Egg Porridge, it's also delicious. The pork is really tender. It's a tradition to pair with the Chinese fried dough. If you have not try these two dishes together then you are missing out. Lastly, we got the beef tenders noodle soup. I think this is their signature dish. The beef tenders were marinade in a secret sauce. I definitely will come back and order this again. The lemon sweet tea, is also my favorite to pair with the food. But also it's good to grab on a go as well. Although, it's only one server for the whole restaurant, but is easy to call her over to the table. The food comes in very quickly. This is place it's one of the hidden gems in the heart of Chinatown.

If you want authentic chinese food thats fairly inexpensive, this is the place in chinatown.None of the dishes were particularly outstanding to me, their well known steamed rice roll noodles was decent.I was however a huge fan of the soy milk they had, just the perfect amount of sugar and extremely comforting on a cold day.

I recently stopped by The Spicy Shrimp and tried the beef rice roll and porridge. Both dishes were excellent. The beef rice roll had a perfect balance of soft rice wrapper and tender, flavorful beef. It was light but still filling, and the dipping sauce that came with it added a nice savory touch. The porridge was comforting and well-seasoned, with a smooth texture that wasn't too thick or too watery. It had a mild flavor that complemented the bold taste of the rice roll, making the two dishes a great combination. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and laid-back, and the service was friendly and attentive. It's definitely a spot I'd come back to when I'm craving something warm and satisfying. For the quality of food and the experience overall, I'd say it's well worth a visit.

We stopped here for a snack while in china town. We got the shrimp and bbq pork rice rolls. While I think there could have been more shrimp, highly recommend both rolls. We sat outside and expected very minimal decor. Service was relatively attentive for a Chinatown restaurant

Ok to be completely honest, it's kinda... unhygenic... inside. I'm sorry that this was the word I went with, but even that is a kind way to put it. Everything is served in disposable plastic/paper/styrofoam, even when you're dining in. The sauces at the table are coated in a sticky grease of sorts. You bus yourself and throw away your trash in a cardboard bin at the entrance. Lots of flies, as they keep the doors open. There's a smell. If you're someone that really values cleanliness and hygiene at dining establishments, this is probably not the place for you. Service is also not so great--the staff don't speak English (which is fine!), but that also means they can't really answer questions and there might be communication issues when you're ordering. I also had to go up to the register in order to ask questions, order, and pay. Chopsticks are the really cheap, easily breakable kind, and my sister's pair did end up snapping in half, but we weren't offered a new pair so she just made it work.Their rice rolls are very good though (beef and bbq pork), albeit very pricey for what they are. I think it's about $7/each, and there's a $10(?) order minimum to use a credit card. This has been pretty much the only restaurant in SF that I've been able to find that does fresh cheong fun though, so in that regards, the price was fine.

Their rice rolls were good, but their service was horrible. We sat down at one of the empty tables and waited for like 15 minutes and no one came. I had to go to the counter to grab the menu myself. And when we were ready to pay the bill, they ignored us again. I had asked one of the staff for the bill and waited for like 10 minutes at the table, and no one came to give us the bill. So I went up to the counter to ask for the bill and was ignored by the staff there; multiple people came in after to the counter to place/pickup their order were helped before me. I think I waited for like another good 10 minutes at counter before someone gave me the bill. I was so frustrated.
