I'm going to first say that my experience was amazing, I did get it to go as I do lots of my food during my travels but I went to pick it up myself. It's just a couple of blocks of Union square. When I walked into the new restaurant new to me open 6 months! The atmosphere on a Friday early dinner time was fun and vibrant the restaurant was half full which for the city is pretty good that early I went to pick up my food and was greeted at the bar by a wonderful gentleman who let me know would be a few minutes late but I was already early. I sat down and enjoyed a wonderful glass of retina wine and if you know Greek wine please try the wine if you don't try a California one unless you're open-minded I do like a Greek wine. The most wonderful thing about the atmosphere and the restaurant is the bartender he gave me some history of retina wine and he was engaging in it was simply nice to sit there and enjoy my 15 minutes of waiting and enjoying a glass of wine. I got a few small plates of the beets the dolma and the spanakopita. Oh my the spanakopetia was fantastic the dolmas were great the grains in the rice were perhaps slightly Al dente but the spices and the flavors were delicious the beat were good they were the best dipping sauce for my slice of pita bread but I would have preferred them if they were roasted in house more in a chunky manner so that I knew they were not from a can. Overall I love the place I'd like to enjoy a meal there and to go food was nice oh and one nice really strong Factor being someone who gets food to go quite a bit is they put a bed of arugula below all the food to go to absorb this steam and the heat so that the food didn't get soggy it looked good and it was such a smart thing to do so kudos to them. Yay great that a new restaurant is open in SF and highly recommend it.

We were recommended this restaurant by a family member and we were thoroughly impressed. We ordered the kolokithokeftethes as an appetizer and they were absolutely delicious. The crunchy outside and the hot soft zucchini inside was amazing. As my main dish I ordered the lamb chops and garlic fries and it was absolutely perfect. The service here was great and the ambience was very calm and mellow. You can really tell this restaurant cares about their customers. This has become my favorite restaurant in San Francisco. A few misses here.We visited for lunch on a Friday and had a good experience with a few areas for improvement. The warm bread came out promptly, which was a nice touch, but we were unsure if it was meant for the hummus since the hummus arrived about six minutes later. The zucchini fritters had potential but lacked the crispiness I expected--squeezing the zucchini to remove excess moisture might make a big difference. For my main course, I had the pastitsio. While flavorful, it arrived warm rather than hot, and the texture in the first few bites had a bit of grit. The bathrooms could also use more attention--one toilet was clogged, and there were paper towels scattered on the floor.Despite these minor misses, the staff was friendly, and the ambiance was pleasant. With a few tweaks, this place could easily elevate the dining experience!

Food was really great - from the warm pita bread and pico they brought at the beginning, to the zucchini fritters, to the chickpea wrap everything was delicious. Service was great as well and the place was a cute date spot and had a large serving of wines that I didn't get to try this time. Will definitely go back!

Our group of 5 came to The Parthenon during a business trip. The staff was so friendly and we enjoyed the atmosphere which was welcoming to weary travelers. Great wine list and multiple options (Greek and other) by the glass. Appetizers and pita were delicious and everyone enjoyed their entrees. Highly recommend the pomegranate souvlaki. The portions were generous. Overall wonderful experience!

This place is awesome! We recently visited for my husband's birthday and had a great time. We ordered the Hummus and Spanakopita to start, and both were delicious. I especially liked the pita bread that they brought out - it was so soft and pillowy! For the main, I ordered the Makaronia which was also good. It would be nice to see a few more vegetarian main options, but given the number of Mezethes options you could probably just make a full meal out of those if you wanted to. My friends and I split the Greek Fries with our main dishes, and they were also very tasty. We also liked the ambience. The Parthenon is a nice restaurant, without being overly flashy or extravagant. Because of the pacing of the meal, we were able to spend more time there and not feel like we were being rushed through. Thus, I think this is a perfect place for a birthday dinner or other social event! One more thing: if you are planning on visiting, I would recommend getting a reservation. This place is close to Downtown and Union Square, and so reasonably it gets busy. We came on a Wednesday at 6pm, and it was pretty crowded! I'm not sure what the wait would have been since we had a reservation, but something to keep in mind.

Exquisite as always! The octopus is a must-have for us! The soup was amazing!! So flavorful! My tastebuds overflowed with joy when consuming the yogurt baklava!! The lavender (blackberry?) tea was delish! A bit bitter for me but with a giant dash of honey worked wonders. The lamb skewers were grilled medium rare to perfection. And oooowww boy!!! The cauliflower was very tasty with the perfect amount of seasoning. I loved the mussels as well!! Always amazing! And even better company. Meeting the waitresses and seeing Cemo again really topped off our experience. Loved the ambiance! And I'm already looking forward to our next visit! Conveniently located a minute away from DNA Salon. Seems to be a new ritual of ours!

A gem of a restaurant. My husband's aunt and uncle were visiting SF and had selected this restaurant for lunch. It was walking distance from their hotel . The owner was friendly and so was the staff. The food itself was quite good. The gyro was excellent. The sampler platter was delicious and had a nice variety of hummus, tzatziki sauce, and beets with a tray of fresh pita bread.my uncle really liked the seafood pasta , it had a nice amount of pasta. The lemony Greek soup was very good also! We had a nice experience at this restaurant and plan to come back to try some other dishes!

Being from Europe it's tough to find good quality food in the US, so this definitely exceeded expectations. The food was perfectly cooked and it was great quality and fresh ingredients. Everyone was super nice and fast service. What I enjoyed the most was the ambiance, it's a great place to go for dinner and drinks before a night out, or even just drinks - really cool vibes

Me and my manager went here for lunch. The ambience and the service was amazing. We listened to recommendations and loved all the dishes. Especially their sauce with home made pita bread. Definitely will come back soon.
