I ordered a falafel wrap to go from Doordash. It's hard to get a decent falafel in the city but this was one of the better I've had. Good fillings and it came with a side of fries. The lady working there was nice. She had the order ready faster than the estimated time. I would definitely go back. Looks like a nice place to sit as well.

4.5/5A wonderful, locally owned establishment that has a cozy, casual and relaxing atmosphere with delicious food. My friends and I tried a variety of the menu, including but not limited to the chicken shawarma, backlava, babaganoush, and the pita bread with hummus. Everything was delicious!!! There was not a single poor tasting thing. The prices are hard to beat, esp in this economy + SF. You order by going up to a counter and they serve you the food. The service was quick and polite. There are napkins and condiments on the table for easy clean up and personalization. The cherry on top for me was asking for extra tzatziki sauce for my wrap, and places these days with either charge or give a little, but Tina gave a GENEROUS BOWL of the sauce, which is amazing for me because side I could eat that stuff ala carte. Ali and Tina were kind people and I will 100% be returning.

Delicious! It is. It is criminal that this place isn't busy. I came in at 3pm and NOBODY was here. Usually a bad sign. Will I get fresh food? This knocked me out. I just had a taco but it was fresh, delicious and complex. Bright, meaty, and refreshing with all the veggies they put on it. My go to shawarma spot is Truly Med and this place my become my new one. Check this place out!

My daughter and I go to Target and PetSmart across the street fairly often, and each time I make the turn from Geary to Masonic she can count on me to say some variation of, "We really need to try that hummus place on the corner."Finally we had a little extra time early last Friday evening and there happened to be a parking space on the side, so we stopped in.When we entered I was impressed but concerned at the same time. Impressed by the airy space with high ceilings, but concerned that there was an unpleasant aroma in the room. Musty is a description that comes to mind. And we were the only customers. I worried for a second about what the food might be like but still wanted to at least give it a shot since we were there.Any lingering worries left me as soon as our plates were set in front of us. It all looked so appetizing! The lamb pieces on my $19.99 platter were plentiful. They didn't seem to be grilled as I would have expected, but they tasted good and were nearly fork-tender.My daughter's shrimp platter had 8 enormous shrimp, which I think is a great deal these days for only $16.99.The original hummus was slightly on the salty side but I'll still be buying a container to bring home next time. I'm interested to try their other hummus flavors as well (they have 6 including the original). As we ate, more people came in. I figure we must have simply arrived before their typical dinner rush. My daughter killed her plate but I had plenty left over for lunch the next day.House of Hummus is a solid place and I would be there a lot if I lived in the neighborhood. As it is, I might not make a dedicated trip to come here, but if there's a parking space and I'm hungry, I'm definitely going in!

I was told by a reliable source that the hummus is exceptional and they were 100% correct. We showed up to a mostly empty spot a few Mondays ago and wish people would start going out and eating again. The reason being that if you got a fresh falafel instead of driving it home for 20 mins, you would have an entirely different experience. Although we ordered to go, we sat in the car to chow down. What did make home was the lamb Kevon platter. Probably some of the most tender lamb I've had in the past decade. Simply amazing and will be back for more.

This was the saddest, smallest, grossest lamb and beef shawarma I've ever had in my life, and I love Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food. Bonus yuck: a hair in my depressing side salad. The pictures on Grubhub where I ordered from and on Yelp have nothing in common with what I received. And this meal cost me $20. Really unbelievable this place has such a high Yelp rating.

I've always noticed this place on the corner but never made the time to eat here. We ordered wraps to go and the portions were much smaller than expected. Everything was delicious though and the lady working was very kind. I was surprised that the restaurant wasn't busy despite all of the great reviews. I would come back to try something else next time!

2 stars for the dolmas and salad that came with the shawarma. Shawarma on the other hand was not good AT ALL! The lamb was gristle.
