The Grill House

Local watering hole. As someone who frequents this location almost weekly I can say I have nothing bad to say.The staff are so friendly and attentive. The food is great and I love the daily specials which mixes things up. They source most of their food locally in the Bay Area.For anyone wanting a good solid meal with great service I highly recommend. They do have TVs all around playing different sports and have a bar section. Kid friendly and outside seating for those bringing pets. My favorites are their deviled eggs, apple chicken salad, pot roast and pretty much any burger with garlic fries!

Hi Will H. Thank you for reading my review and for reminding me of the very generous and hospital way that our waitress served us. She ordered, without extra charge, another chicken breast to replace the thin breast that was used in the chicken panini sandwich. That was very kind of her (and your restaurant) She also brought me a salad to replace the mushy vegetables. Like I said in my review, our waitress was incredibly kind and accommodating. Thus, I am upgrading my review to 2 stars.I do want to emphasize that the thickness of the chicken "breast" was very thin. Unfortunately, the pictures tell the story. If you zoom in on the pictures below and enlarge them, it is easy to see that the chicken "breast" is about 1/8 -1/4 inch "thick". The second picture really shows how sparse and thin the chicken slice is compared with the rest of the sandwich. It's barely there. Unfortunately, it wasn't just the thinness of the chicken breast, it was also the lack of flavor. It was very bland, just as my friend complained of her Cajun Burger. If, as you said, there are only two people that are going to be reading this review, why are you so upset and going on the offensive, by saying that it was more about me than it was about your restaurant, that I was going through something and was taking it out on your restaurant? Just last week, I went to a wonderful restaurant in San Mateo, La Ronda Peruvian Restaurant, and gave it a 5-star rave review! I love giving a restaurant good reviews and I am not particularly fond of giving a restaurant a bad review, but I feel like a responsibility to warn other yelp users about restaurants that are not worth their time and money that end up making their evenings less enjoyable, (just as I would want to be warned). I hope I can help restaurants like yours by helping them to improve the quality of food that they serve so that their customers are happy that they patronized your restaurant rather than wishing they had gone to somewhere else instead. I wish you and your restaurant success in the future, especially by taking this kind of feedback and using it to improve the quality of your restaurant and the experience of your future customers.

I've never had a Cesar salad this way when it came out it tasted as delicious as it looked. Service is always friendly and quick. Spacious seating and always clean which I love. Give them a try you won't be disappointed.

I was traveling from out of town and was staying nearby. I was getting recommendations from a friend who mentioned this restaurant and decided to give it a shot.Going in, I sat in the bar area and had Jonathan as my server. I ordered the Hickory Burger, which had bacon, cheddar cheese, GH stout bbq sauce and grilled onions. I also had sweet potato fries on the side, thanks to the recommendation from Jonathan. I ordered the burger to my liking, and it was nice and juicy between the burger, sauce, bacon and onions. It hit the spot at every bite. Think I was so into the burger than once it was over, I was like where'd it go? I wanted more but then remembered I needed to finish the sweet potato fries first, and that was good too.Service from Jonathan was great. Always wanted to be sure that I had everything I needed and made sure my questions were answered, plus had some good rexommendations for what to get.Being a Tuesday afternoon, it wasn't too busy at all. It has tons of television screens around that you can watch all sorts of teams on them. There were a few locals that stopped by during my time, and you can tell they enjoy there time at GH, and the service they provide.Overall great first experience and would go again, if I happen to be in town again.

We usually eat next door at Bagel Street Cafe during the day and sometimes get a beer at Grill House. The bartender was cool because he used to let me bring a pint glass to the outdoor seating area. We prefer sitting outside because this is our midpoint during our bicycle rides. This is my first time eating at Grill House. I came here because Riley's hot food self service station was closed at 7:30pm. I ordered a cheeseburger with garlic fries $20. It came out in about 10 minutes. It tasted OK. The bun was really dry and they put too much mustard on it. It tasted sour. A better option would be garlic aioli sauce or even plain mayo. Red onions would have made this burger 2x better but it was not included. The garlic fries needed more garlic taste. No garlic burn here. Service was excellent. Good job crew at Grill House.

Stopped by for a quick bite between appointments and so glad we did! Food was scrumptious and so were the beverages. The burger was perfectly cooked and juicy and the Wings were finger lickin' good. Service was excellent and refills provided in a timely manner. We will definitely be back when we're in the area again.

Saturday 1:00pm 2 Adults 2 Children Hungry for some lunch and have a 5 year old and a 3 year old in tow so we thought we better pick a place that had mac n cheese on the menu but we were feeling like a salad. Yelp led us to the Grill House and we were happy.4/5 because the waiter was pre-occupied with another customer who looked like a personal friend, which meant we waited longer than we would have liked for the final bill.There were only 4 tables occupied during our visit with 6 or so people at the bar. There is a children's menu available and the adult menu has a variety of items we were happy to choose from. Our server was attentive to our grandchildren, thank you. Our food was delicious and the prices appropriate. Happy to support a locally owned company that sources from local growers. We would come back again while in the area.

We were feeling like BBQ tonight so wanted to try a new place. There are not a whole lot of BBQ options in the mid-Peninsula so excited to try The Grill House. Place is super casual, pub type vibe. Service was excellent! Fast, super nice and efficient. We split the full plate of ribs with sides of coleslaw and sweet potato fries. The ribs were moist, tender, fell off the bone and yummy! The fries were delicious. The coleslaw was not our favorite but that's us - not them. Hubby had an IPA and I had the yummy Riesling. It was a tasty dinner and we will definitely be back!

I reached out to Will, general manager, inquiring about having The Grill House host a staff holiday party in December 14.Will was responsive via email and helpful. I absolutely LOVE when businesses communicate quickly via email because that's my preferred way of communication. He sent over two menu choices and made suggestions. I sent the menu options to staff and they chose the "heavy apps" because a buffet style meal would be a bit heavy for 2:30-5pm.I paid the deposit via phone, Will confirmed the menu a week out (Caprese Crostini (vegetarian), Vegetarian spring rolls (not fried), Beef Sliders, Ahi Wonton Cups, Buffalo Chicken Skewers, Bleu-cheese stuffed, bacon-wrapped dates, Chicken Street TacosBBQ Ribs (individual bones)). He made sure to include a mix of meat and vegetarian options.The day of, everything was setup and ready to go. There was enough food to go around; my staff let me know they enjoyed the food and location.The staff at Grill House were helpful and accommodating.Thank you, Will and Grill House. You provided us with a great experience!

The food is great the service is wonderful the server are always asking is everything okHappy hour they have a good selection. Tuesday is my favorite day which is taco Tuesday
