Missing The Bernal Star, dropped by and noticed the gate open and alleyway free of barriers to walk into the new restaurant The CRUMBmy friend asked if they were open and although it was 4pm and didn't open til 5pm we were welcomed to be a guestLittle did we know the server was actually the chef, chef Chris welcoming us with a delightful smile and gracious attitude. We were treated like royaltyThe food was fabulous, scallops lying on a fabulous bed of velvety pea puree and a lamb slider. We were also treated with their black cod tacos which were luscious and gluten free shell obvi homemade and tastyThe dessert to die for a honey cake that melts in your mouthI am definitely returning especially to try their khachapuri, which sounded scrumptious serving two to threeThank you Chef Chris and the General Manager who went out of her way to care for us and I apologize I for your name Service was above & beyond5 stars

I was visiting SF from Toronto and was disappointed that Bernal Star closed, but I was excited to try The Crumb. I hoped the new restaurant would be fantastic, but unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. The staff seemed poorly trained and stressed. Although they appeared to be kind people, it was clear they lacked proper training. Ultimately, the owner is responsible for training The menu was simple yet confusing, with a collection of "a little bit of this" and "a little bit of that." It did not meet the quality I expect from San Francisco restaurants. The restaurant's decor felt very generic, and there was also a strange official notice on the door I hope these issues are just growing pains, but I cannot recommend this restaurant.

So we went to dinner at the crumb on Saturday night around 7:00 p.m. . The restaurant was busy but not overcrowded and because the space was a little more intimate the ambiance of the restaurant was very cozy. I also enjoy the fact that there was art on the walls from local artists that you could purchase if you found something quite appealing. I want to give a huge huge huge shout out to our server Sarah who took care of us splendidly the entire night. Her and my friend bonded over them both being midwesterners and we all had a hoot together laughing and just chatting about different things. Sarah was very kind in giving a suggestions regarding what we potentially could eat and knew the menu quite well whenever we had a question about one of the items. For drinks we ended up getting the Pink Pony Club, the Bailando, and the Halo. All three of these drinks were made with either wine or beer and not going to lie I was a little hesitant as to what the taste would be and we were all floored. Every single drink had its own burst of flavor, it was very complex, but also light on the palate where it was extremely refreshing. Greatly recommend all of them. For dinner we started off with the Deviled eggs, a kale Caesar salad followed by the soba noodles, Peruvian chicken wings, and lastly the portabella sliders. The deviled eggs had a beautiful hint of truffle which really made the filling quite delicate but both at the same time. The Kale Caesar salad was very fresh, the dressing it had was not overly done, and the fresh parmesan was tasted throughout every bite. I really enjoyed the soba noodles because the sauce it had had the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. I call this out because both my husband and my best friend are not fans of spicy and they really enjoyed this dish. It was actually finished by all of us. The other dish we had were the Peruvian chicken wings that had an amazing taste on their own and did not require the dipping sauce that came with it. The sauce did enhance the flavor. The one call out for this dish, as it is more of a personal preference, is I would have liked the chicken wings just a little more crispy. We ended the night with these brownies that were a amazing blend of a chocolate torte and brownie combined. We got two orders the first one had the brownie melting in your mouth the second order was a little bit more decadent but still not overpowering with the chocolate. We gave a big thank you to the chef before she left and we are so looking forward to coming back and trying out the other dishes on the menu.

Our family of 3 was excited to try this new neighborhood spot out for lunch! The food is decent (some items are better than others), the service is warm and friendly, and the space is cozy and inviting. We shared the following:1) Crab cakes - pretty good 2) Steak crostini - all right3) Fish tacos - flavorful3) Chicken schnitzel - the chicken was moist and we liked the light breading level; however, I found it a bit bland/potentially under salted5) Churro puffs - okayThe staff was warm, friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which was appreciated. We also loved the fact they brought crayons and a coloring sheet for our young daughter. We sat indoors, and enjoyed the cozy decor, including the throw pillows, holiday lights, and oil paintings on the walls. We are excited to have this new business on Cortland, and hopeful they'll work out the kinks in their menu soon so everything is equally delicious!

What an amazing place this has become. The food absolutely flavorful and exciting. The cocktails and beers are a very nice touch and have unique flavors and presentation. The art on the walls is very fitting and the service must importantly is great. Some food came out quickly and some took time but totally worth it as everything is prepared to perfection and tastes fresh and the fusion of flavors from all around the world is wonderful. I come here with my family and get a very comforting and warm atmosphere to be in with my loved ones!

Within the first few moments of entering this restaurant I was blown away. I had a this is brunching in San Francisco moment. Not only was a lucky to experience the beautiful weather in their patio but also great music. On Sundays, they have live music and is paired with excellent food. This restaurants menu has food from all over the map. Make sure you try their strawberry Bellini, best Bellini I've ever had!

We visited on the opening night and had such a great time. The ambience was soo cozy and inviting perfect for a date night. Our favorites were the - hamachi crudo, Peruvian wings, and the crab cakes. For dessert we got the churro puffs which was filled with chocolate and the perfect ending! The cocktails were great too. Their service was great and we loved talking to the staff. Can't wait to try more things as they expand their menu and waiting to come here for brunch as well. We heard that they will be having movie nights in the patio too eventually and really looking forward to that!

We are so happy to have experienced The Crumb on its opening weekend here in Bernal Heights. The food was delicious and the service from our server Paul was outstanding. We tried a bunch of different things and they all were great. A few standouts that I will be dreaming about until our next visit were the butternut squash soup, the fish tacos, the beet and arugula salad, and the soba noodles. The fish tacos were battered and served with the most delicious cabbage and onions and white sauce (which we asked for on the side). Others in our party also tried the deviled eggs and sweet potato bites, which I didn't personally try, but which they said were also delicious.Something we particularly appreciated was Paul's patience with us in answering a million questions, as one person in our party had severe food allergies. Paul patiently went through all of the menu items and we found many things that she could eat, either with a few modifications or as is. We ordered "Milk In Cookies" for desert and though it was a little challenging to share, it was also delicious. For beverages, we had wine, beer, and a low-alcohol cocktail that was surprisingly awesome. All of this, and the prices were totally reasonable! We highly recommend checking out The Crumb in Bernal Heights, and we can't wait until our next visit.

Finally, a great tapas spot in Bernal! The food was great. You can really taste the high-quality ingredients, and the presentation was nice. Honey cake was to die for! Service was warm and attentive, which made the experience even better. I honestly don't understand why some people are comparing this place to Bernal Star that closed and they are not related. No offense, but the quality here is miles ahead! So, I'm really happy to see a new upgraded place with much better quality and selection.
