The Barnes Bar & Restaurant in the lobby of The Barnes Hotel is a hidden gem in San Francisco! From the delicious food to the stellar service, our experience was top-notch.Our first night, Angel took great care of us, ensuring we had a fantastic dining experience. We were impressed by the craft cocktail selection , the draft beer lineup , and the unique appetizers. The Lemon Chip appetizer immediately caught our attention--burrata with dried lemon slices on grilled sourdough (substituted with pita chips)--and wow, it was a flavorful and creative dish! On our second night, Ace provided fast, friendly service and made sure we were well taken care of. We ordered the Super Greens Salad and the Grilled Caesar Salad , both of which were fresh, filling, and absolutely delicious.Whether you're staying at the hotel or just looking for a great place to grab a drink and a bite near Union Square, The Barnes Bar & Restaurant is a must-visit! Fantastic food, great service, and a cozy yet stylish atmosphere--highly recommend!

First off this was my first time here and I hate SF! we checked in on the 31 and left on the 2nd and Angel the bartender was so amazing! He was so freaking friendly, patient and welcoming to me and my two young kids. Thank you! In the morning of the the 1st there was a young lady with curly hair and a very sweet black male ( i didnt catch his name ) but they helped to fix my reservation for an extended stay after I mistakingly did the wrong date. Very kind, attentive and made me feel comfortable. I will say that the evening of the the 1st while I needed to add some items to my room / asked for assistance with my doordash, there was a blonde lady who made me feel so uncomfortable when I asked her for help with my door dash order. I said hello to her, however she looked at me like I was bothering her. She wasn't friendly at all so I was disappointed with her service. I wouldn't be back for her only Angel and your morning crew of the November 1st. I'm honest with my reviews and had to share. Nicole Ps the 5 stars are only for the overall experience with Angel and your morning crew.

Stopped in for happy hour and had a delicious cocktails. Really friendly bartender too. Cute bar area.

First and foremost shut out to Ace!! Amazing bartender and server. We came for a drink and their burger wich is so good by the way. But then we had Ace he's not only attentive and respectful but also friendly and very caring. The ambiance it's smooth Relaxed great for meeting a friend or having relaxed evening.Ace was very nice and I was so sad when I saw this guy giving him such a hard time and calling him racist as a Latina and a minority I have to say he was nothing but wonderful and attentive I'm so sorry that you have to deal with this entitled person u personally had a wonderful experience would definitely coming back and highly recommend this place for a pleasant evening and quick tasting bite . Thank you Ace for making our evening so special ..

The craft cocktails are on point (specially The Three Sheets vodka cocktail) and they have a lot of great food options (I tried the Steamed Buns) with amazing service. The Restaurant and Bar is right in front of the iconic cable car making it a true San Francisco Union Square experience. Have to try the Social Hour soon... can't wait!

Disaster from beginning to end. Food was over cooked. Service was friendly but almost nonexistent. Surprised it's actually still in business. I usually don't review if not good news, but this is one of those times where o just felt we needed to warn others. Don't waste your time or money.

Terribly stay. First time in San Francisco- arrived really late was greeted well by the staff but that's where the good things stopped- was downgraded to a double queen from a deluxe king without intimation rooms the size of a matchbox bathroom smaller than a closet. No refund offered nothing to fix the damp, dank room.Do not book at any cost.

I ate at the Barnes Restaurant on a Thursday night. From 5-7 they offer live music and drink specials which was perfect for unwinding after work. My waitress, Nicole, was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, giving great food suggestions (try the cookie for desert!).For dinner I had the burger. The portions were huge! My burger was perfectly cooked and high quality. I loved the seasoning on the fries. This is the perfect restaurant for travelers or locals looking for a low key experience with good quality food and drinks.
