I've came here twice while waiting on a show at the Orpheum it very much gives mom and pop small business. Their food was good the service was a 2 out of 5. it was frustrating that we ordered they charged us and we didn't receive food. the lady stated she was holding the card to open a tab.. it made me less inclined to order moreI don't know if she meant harm by it. I understand crime is rampant and maybe she thought we would dinner dash.. but it wasn't a good felling it made us feel rush.. one staff disclosed not feeling well but wasn't wearing a mask they have a nice happy hour .. I recommend stopping by if you have time to kill before a show. they have small bites that are easy to eat. their happy hour wine is Sutter home

Came here with my family before a show at the Orpheum, and it was fairly empty on a Thursday night so it was pretty quiet. The waitstaff was friendly and kind -- our waiter was so warm and welcoming and kept checking in on us throughout the night. One thing to keep in mind is that they don't ask for spice level preferences for any of our food but nothing is really that spicy (wish it was but more for personal preference).Green Curry: 4/5, fairly flavorful and the ingredients were cooked nicely without being too tender.Eggplant (with beef): 5/5, super flavorful and well spiced. A big hit with the whole family!Tom Yum Goong: 4.5/5, good lemongrass flavor, maybe a little watery.Papaya salad: 5/5, great flavor all around and very well balanced.Overall, a good time and welcoming staff!

I visited at 3pm alone and the place was pretty empty. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. We talked about Sunday Streets for a quite while.I ordered the pad Thai pork. It was plated very nicely with all the ingredients separate. I guess it was fun to mix it all together. It tasted great. I liked that the pepper was on the side so you can add as much as you want. I added all of it and it gave the dish a nice kick. Only complaint is there wasn't very much egg. But all that for just $15 before tax/tip. It didn't look like that much quantity at first but it was filling in the end.The place looks very nice with a Serene painting on the wall, lots of real and fake plants around traditional looking wall decor, and soft music playing, I can't tell what language. Even the pen had a flower on it.

I stopped by this place with a big group after going to an art exhibit at the Asian Art Museum and it was good and convenient! There's so much space and really quiet, so it's great for big parties. Their service was also really friendly! My boyfriend and I got the eggplant Basil, Pad Kee Mao, and Thai tea and they were all really good! The Pad Kee-Mao was spicier than usual, but really good, so order with caution.

Came here before the MJ show at the Orpheum. We ordered the eggplant basil, green curry, and a Thai iced tea. The curry was as spicy as I expected and the Thai tea (iced) was the perfect way to cool down! The staff here were also very friendly and attentive! Definitely recommend this spot if you're looking for a quick-ish bite to eat without a long wait.

I had hopes for this new-ish Thai restaurant in the beleaguered Civic Center area, given the good reviews. (New-ish because this location previously housed another Thai restaurant). But it failed the pad thai test. Pad thai is my barometer for Thai restaurants. If they can make a good pad thai, chances are that everything else is great. Like if a Chinese restaurant can make a good fried rice, if an American restaurant can make a decent burger. The basics. The pad thai here barely had any of the tangy taste that the dish is famous for. It was very light. And the chicken was straightout bland. There were no nuts. So disappointing. At least the noodles were cooked to a good consistency. There was only one server during lunch who was kinda slow but friendly. Maybe there was also only one person in the kitchen, food was a bit slow, too. There are plenty of other Thai restaurants in the area to try instead. Or just stick to Lers Ros.

Great food and service! We came here before catching a show at the Orpheum. The restaurant was a lot bigger than how it appears on the outside. Cute decor and clean! We ordered the egg rolls, crispy pork, and pad kee mow. The egg rolls were homemade, which we could tell by the freshness of veggies and noodles inside. It was pretty oily though, but that's understandable since it is deep fried. The pad kee now was also great, but again, pretty oily. The crispy pork was tasty, though not super crispy because of the sauce. Overall, I think the food was great. If they can have less oil, then this would be a 5 star!

The food was delicious but relatively standard Thai fare. We had Eggplant with sweet basil, green curry shrimp, green papaya salad and Tom Yum Goong soup (shrimp). They did not ask us for spice level. All but the green curry was mild. The green curry was medium. The restaurant was not crowded and the service was friendly and quick albeit a bit clumsy. The ambience was rather plan, it appears they may still be working in the decorations.
