TC Pastry is a gem of a spot for affordable and delicious dim sum. This place can get very busy, and for a good reason--it's that good! What sets them apart is that you can buy just one item instead of committing to three packs like many other dim sum places. This allowed me to sample a variety of their offerings, and everything I tried was excellent. The workers here are incredibly kind and speak both Cantonese and English, making it a welcoming experience. There are only a few small tables inside, but I noticed that some locals don't hesitate to eat standing up right after getting their food.As a fan of congee, I really enjoyed their rice porridge with duck egg. Each bite had something good in it--not just plain rice. My favorite item so far has to be their shrimp and chive dumplings because of how they're so fresh and packed with flavor. A close second would be their fried wontons, which I was lucky enough to get right as a new batch came out--extra hot and crispy!Next time, I definitely want to try their custard egg tarts. They were sold out when I visited, which is a good sign they're a crowd favorite. This spot is definitely worth the visit for anyone who loves dim sum takeout style!

This has got to be the go to to go dim sum place in town. No seating, everything ordered at the counter. The prices are all labeled and everything is labeled well. The menu has pricing and names on the wall. The older ladies helping you out are so kind. Now onto the dim sum, we ordered a vast variety of dim sum from this place from shiu mai to hagao, cheung fun, deep fried sticky buns, cha siu baos, dai baos and more. Everything was delicious. Most of the items came in the same price configuration, 3 or 4 items for a set price around $3.50 or $4.20. All the dim sum was pretty good for a to go place. I would say even comparable to sit down restaurant ones. The quality was good and the flavor was tasty. Every time I come into town I would definitely come here.

4/5 : Hai gow (Shrimp Dumpling), Siu Mai (Pork Dumpling)3/5: Chinese Tamale (pork and beans), this item does INCLUDE peanuts , beef roll was good, the sauce is too sweet for my taste2/5: * bbq pork bun was too sweet, perfect flakiness though* chicken pot pie was too doughy, kinda of bland* shrimp w/ chives and shrimp w/ cilantro dumpling were too thickOverall service was quick. They are a CASH ONLY establishment. A very hole in the wall place

Our favorite dimsum place. Food is good! Tho there was a time that the porridge was bland like water. Maybe it was still early when they're running low of it and instead of cooking more they just added some water instead. They stop selling chowmein which our family's favorite. The cocktail bun is the best. We also like the mochi and wonton soup. By the way the owner is nice. We keep coming to tc pastry. The price is still reasonable.

Was in the area for lunch and stopped by here again for their Hot Spicy Wontons. 5 for $2.85 is a pretty good deal. The ladies there today were nice. Customer service and experience was good. Didn't feel rushed like last time so that's why I'm updating my review. 05.12.2024 | Sunday @2:30pm

Comforting wonton soup (8 wontons, no noodles) for $6.50 + tax. Lots of Cantonese speaking customers coming in for quick orders. Great place for no frills comfort food with a few small tables to eat.

Very disappointing. The preserved duck & shredded pork porridge tasted like it was left overnight. It has no flavor except for the duck. I've never had porridge that tasted this bad.I've never seen turnip cake like jello consistency. There's absolutely NO turnips in it, I feel like I was eating a mochi. The potsticker was cold and not warm like my other orders. The bbq turnover was just alright. And to top it off, the black sesame dessert spilled all over bag.No receipt was offered, so who knows if I got overcharged. For 5 items the total was $25.02.

We wanted dim sum so we dropped by here after we got boba! No regrets but this spot have so much options in dim sum! They have homemade "tofu fa"! Omg it was sooo fresh and perfect! We also got egg tarts, fried stuffed tofu, siu mai, fried curry pastry, dried shrimps rice rolls. Price is decent. We would come back here next time!

I decided to stop by this place to try out their dim sum on a Sunday morning. The place didn't seem too empty and service was quick! When we ordered the dim sum, the worker got some fresh ones from the back! That was really nice of them.We ordered a bunch of food but it was a little pricey for the amount that we got. The total came out to $40. I got the pork buns, xíu mại, fried taro, cilantro and pork dumplings, har gow, and wonton soup. The food was pretty good but nothing too crazy. What I really liked was the fried taro but the flavors was inconsistent because one of the taros tasted more flavorful than the other. I really liked the wonton soup too! The noodles tasted okay but the wontons itself were delicious. Over good place but a little bit pricey.

I used to frequent the Daly City location in the 90's and heard they closed. I was in the area so decided to try this location out and had gnats stuck to my rice cake - 2 pieces! Shrimp dumplings had an oily yet doughy texture. The porridge and/or the baked bbq buns gave me a super sour stomach. Easily tossed $30 worth of food away.
