Very cute and quick sit down lunch or just to sit and work! Plenty of seating indoors and some two person tables outdoors. On a sunny day, it's a lovely cafe to sit in and have a coffee chat. It's super close to Duboce Park too, so you can easily meander over there and dog watch after; people often bring their dogs to the cafe and sit outside as well. There's also live jazz on on Thursdays(?) at 5:30pm. I got the Caprese Panini ($14 + tax). The bread was super crispy and the pesto inside was delicious. There was a good ratio of mozzarella and tomato for me. Paninis come with a side of potato chips.

It's such a nice cafe for a good lunch. Have plenty of seating and the Chinese chicken salad is definitely a go to. They have a new Fillmore chicken Caesar salad wrap that I've been meaning to try. Based on the salad I had I'm sure it's just as good. 10/10 and have WiFi

Always fun to return here for a nice lunch when we are in the area. It was another sunny day in this nice, quaint neighborhood. A little too breezy to sit outside, but we got our big table as usual. YAY! :0)Yummy, delicious Hummus Plate, crisp delightful Rosé and tasty Clam Chowder with Grilled Cheese sandwich wedges! :0)We love the friendly, fast service, airy, nice ambiance and the very friendly clientele that always frequent this cute endroit! Thank You so much to the nice, cute customer who helped take photos of me and my Family since I continue to have issues trying to take "Selfies"! LOL! :0)We can't wait to drop by again soon! Thank you for the wonderful lunch! :0)

Reporting back- apparently every three months cause there's so much to tell you. Tarragon is now open until 8p on Friday & Saturday. Starting this Saturday, Live Music! And now there's the sandwich situation. Just discovered the Cuban. Soooooo good. Now I have to rotate my meals despite my tendency to order my fav every visit. Too many favs. 1st world problem.

Cute café in lower Haight. I went here for a weekend brunch bite with a friend ans got the Smoked salmon (lox) on levain toast with a side salad. It was very fresh and healthy, and food came out fast. Based off the sign they had on their sidewalk chalkboard, they also seem to have live music on certain days of the week, which seems cool. Overall a nice neighborhood café with limited selections on the menu but good ingredients.

Food: 5 stars. Fresh and amazing. Would consider pricking up to go in the future if I'm nearby. (They are very instagram friendly)Ambiance: 4 stars. Nice, clean, good light. Abrasive speaker placement for music. Hard to hear inside. Lattes: 0 stars. Worst, tasteless, watered down chai I've ever tasted. They tried to make their own, it appears, and it's not worth trying. On top of horrible flavor it was so hot I burned my mouth after waiting minutes. No spoon for our drinks. Service: 1 star. Only because she actually took our money and brought us food. Super rude woman working at the front. Not able to answer any food questions and spoke so softly I couldn't hear anything over the blaring 90s music. So much so that she got my order wrong. Salad instead of fruit came with my toast. No attempt to correct. She just walked away when I told her the order was wrong.(3/19/24@10am for management to know who was responsible there)

Great neighborhood coffee and lunch spot. Went to do some wedding planning research and wanted a spot I could also get some food that wasn't pre made. Got the Egg Special and it was very yummy! Also got an Iced Chai Tea Latte, which you could completely customize the sweetness level since its homemade and not from a mix like so many coffee shops do. Overall, fantastic spot to get some work done, grab some food & coffee, and chill. Not too loud, not chaotic at all. Will be back!

I came here by recommendation of a close friend who is local. I'm so glad I did because this café is absolutely to die for. The staff is great and the whole place feels welcoming/cozy. I went ahead with their veggie panini and the flavors were exceptional. They use what's in season and they all complement each other very well. I would 100% visit again the next time I find myself in SF!

This review is long overdue since I've gone to Tarragon so many times - Tarragon is such an unbelievably great cafe for so many reasons. The biggest is the food. Mario cooks up an inspired and mouth-watering menu full of whole foods and fresh ingredients fresh every day. He just doesn't miss. Whether it's the Italian panini loaded with flavor and different ingredients (including a homemade tapenade) for a casual lunch, or the sausage platter to go along with drinks during an evening hangout, or the prime rib with scalloped potatoes for a gourmet dinner without the whole ordeal of going to a fancy restaurant, there's really never an occasion where you shouldn't go to Tarragon. I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH. You won't find this combination of delicious, gourmet, healthy, and affordable food in such a casual setting ANYWHERE ELSE IN SF.There's also the impeccable vibes. The whole staff is super friendly and recognizes returning customers. And the clientele contain a good number of Lower Haight neighbors who know each other and have some history with the place. Many people come here to hang out, so it's a great place to strike up a random convo with someone. Then there's the live music every week. As if Tarragon couldn't know me any better, they get actually good local musicians to come and entertain every Friday and Saturday during dinnertime, free of charge. THIS is how this music is meant to be enjoyed, not in some dry auditorium built for cultural preservation (*cough* SFJAZZ *cough*).All of my friends agree btw. Seeing two cafes across the street from one another (this and Cafe Du Soleil) creates the illusion that they are substitutes. They are not, and that pink cafe down the street can't hold a candle to Tarragon either. Tarragon seems innocent enough from the outside, but it's really a truly top-notch cafe.
