I've had to be gluten free the last five months (and forever now) and it's made dining out tricky. This restaurant had options galore, including GF pasta at no extra charge. We had a regular linguine and clams with a side of sourdough. Double carbs! Both were excellent. I had a simple Caesar with chicken and no croutons. It was properly dressed and the greens were very fresh. The service was excellent and the desert tray was hard to resist. The flan should be GF, too.Great views of the bay, too, and the noise level was low even though we were close to a surprisingly busy bar. The drinks looked good, too. This is a good find in the Pier 39 complex, especially if you are eating gluten free.

The restaurant is big with a lot of waiters, Saturday night it was empty at 8:30pm, they sat us down and we placed our order with the waiter. When we asked for the pizza we wanted to ask for a modification to the pizza and he told us he couldn't, then we asked for another pizza without cheese and he said ok. The food took forever and when he arrived he brought us the pizza that he had said he couldn't modify (which we didn't ask for) and the pizza that we told him without cheese but he brought it with cheese, so we didn't eat the pizza. My son ordered a pasta with butter and it came last and totally cold and hard. The waiter didn't come over at any time, just to bring the bill and nothing else. The bathrooms were dirty as well. I don't recommend it at all. It's a shame having such a nice and big place with such bad service.

Every holiday season my boyfriend and I come down to Pier 39 to enjoy the lights and to play tourists at one of the pier restaurants with a water view. This year, we picked Swiss Louis since it seemed to have the most festive decorations and some vegetarian options for me. At 3:15 on a Sunday, we got seated right away and scored a stellar view of the bay and sea lions.I got the pasta primavera which was good-lots of veggies. I don't usually order pasta out since it's typically overpriced and something I can make better at home. But, this was a nice meal with the atmosphere and it was a good size portion. I took home leftovers. They do charge $2.50 for a sourdough breadbasket, which normally, I'd skip but we hadn't eaten lunch and it turned out to be worth it. It was served warm and fresh, and again plenty to take home.Service was attentive and overall, it was nice treat yourself pre-holiday meal. Lots of water view seating and cozy for the holidays.

The food was very good me and my girlfriend ordered the oysters and the half shell with all the spaghetti and climb chowder with fresh sourdough bread. Our waiters name was Alex very nice and helpful and also recommended a couple items to us .The ambience is really nice I didn't know the restaurant had a view seating area, which was very nice. We got sat in an isolated table away from the other customers that were sitting down, which was very nice very nice and luxurious restaurant.

This place is upstairs in pier 39. Great views if you'd like to people watch or just gaze at the water or the attractions. Service was okay. It wasn't too busy the time we went. The clam chowder was good; wish I had more. I enjoyed the salmon with the teriyaki glaze on top. The veggies were bland. I would've enjoyed it paired with something more.

The crab was not fresh. We got an over ripe lemon. No ice in the water. Maybe in Italy they drink room temperature water. The flan was good, but I am a dietetic. Many choices here in San Francisco, you may want to try somewhere else..

Great pier views!Pros - this place has great views of pier peer and you can see seagulls and Alcatraz! The service is also relatively quick.Cons - much of the food seems likes it's being reheated and not fresh. Pizza gave off frozen pizza vibes.

Pushy door men that try to be friendly, servers that are fake nice and food was.. well just food. We had reservations for a restaurant down the street but my son was "starving" and couldn't wait another hour, so being the worried mother I am we decided to give this place a try since there was no wait. I should've gave him some gum to hold him off. Food was just ok, very bland with not much flavor, nothing I would ever crave. And they charge for bread for the table... weird. Take it from me, try another place there's so many other great restaurants with in a close radius.

Went with my husband yesterday (7/20/24) and it was really bad.The clam chowder was the only thing that was okay but we have definitely tried better ones. I'd recommend not getting the sourdough, just get the soup. The deep fried calamari was BLAND, no salt whatsoever, it had no taste. The fettuccini Alfredo was BLAND as well, you can tell by the pictures how just bad the chicken looks, zero flavor and taste. They also served it on a fine dining dish which was completely unnecessary and actually made the eating part very difficult since all the sauce was in the deepest part of the plate, it didn't even look nice! The sandwich was one of the worst sandwiches I have tried, the bread was so hard and the sausage just tasted weird. The only good thing about it was the cheese and the fries (can't go wrong with fries). The service was okay, the waiter forgot our beverage and brought when we were literally done with our food but he ended up not charging us for it. The ambiance was nice, we liked the place and the view is amazing but it is not worth it, my husband and I do not recommend this place. The total was $90

Yummy! If you're walking around Pier 39 and decide you'd enjoy some delicious seafood- there are many places to dine. I recommend trying Swiss Louis. We had a seafood extravaganza! Everything was delicious. Service was excellent. They were kind, courteous and helpful. There's lots of dining inside and a nice size patio. We ate outside because it was a beautiful day and we had our dogs.Another bonus, pet friendly outside.Parking - It's San Francisco and Pier 39... the restaurant will validate your parking ticket which is helpful if you park in the parking structure across the street from Pier 39.
