Came here to dine in during happy hour prior to watching a show in SF. We ordered some items from the happy hour menu and some from the regular menu. Everything was very fresh and delicious. However everything was extremely tiny. The portions was really tiny. The pictures make these food appear bigger. So if you are a big eater like me be prepared to pay even more even with happy hour prices. Service was friendly and quick. The restaurant was clean with a nice little garden. We did not include pictures of everything we ate because we devoured it before we remembered to take a picture of it.

Solid 4.5/5 and I'd round up to 5. Service: great! You can reserve a table on yelp which we did and didn't have to wait at all. Was greeted when we walked in and our waitress was very attentive and friendly. She checked on us regularly, gave us edamame on the house when we were waiting a bit longer for our food, refilled our teas regularly, and let us know she appreciated our visit at the end. You can tell they really care about their customers and retaining them. Food: good quality sushi and fresh fish!! Had some creative rolls and solid staples. They pay attention to details and add small garnishes to make certain rolls more interesting. Rolls were a good size and prices are reasonable. Theres also a separate alcohol menu with a huge selection. Ambiance: casual homey vibes. There was a birthday in the room and they gave them dessert on the house, dimmed the lights and the whole restaurant sang happy birthday. It was really sweet. They also decorated the walls with sake bottles on the way in which I thought was a nice touch. Parking: sunset district, street and meter parking. Not too difficult to find normally. The location isn't as busy as other parts of Irving.

I'd forgotten all about this "former" favorite sushi bar so I booked a dinner reservation for a milestone wedding anniversary. When I booked it online I made note that it was an anniversary . . . .As we were seated I cheerfully told the waitress that it was an anniversary and she sort of shrugged and off she went. The vibe was certainly very different that what I'd experienced there in past years. The festive vibe seems to be gone. * The sushi "chefs" did not great us, and we noted that they did not engage with the two people sitting at the sushi bar. When the sushi chefs are indifferent and dull as dish water this is a very bad sign!* The table did not have soy sauce or condiments* The platters of food did not come with pickles ginger or wasabi. * They don't give you a hot towel - each table has HAND SANITIZER on it! Hand sanitizer? How nauseating!* The quality of the fish was Safeway. The presentation of the rolls was dull and boring. The Rainbow Roll didn't have everything you expect.* When we paid we were not thanked or acknowledged. We left quietly. * I did stop to say hello to the two people at the sushi bar - I'm friendly that way. They were shocked by the lack of any conversation with the sushi chefs too. For people looking for an authentic, delicious, and fun sushi experience tragically Goemon is not it.

Cozy & quality sushi spot on Irving! We ordered the sushi goemon, dragon roll, and four seasons roll. The four seasons roll my favorite - the combination of cucumber and shiso leaf was unique and refreshing. Fish quality was great and everything tasted fresh. The service was quick and friendly. They have a beautiful garden in the back!

This place never misses. There is a wide selection of rolls, sake flights and nigiri. The appetizers are so good and the fish is very fresh. The staff are always so kind and the ambience is very cozy and fun! Definitely my favorite sushi spot in the Sunset.

Came here for dinner the other night for the first time and was really impressed. We ordered miso soup, house salad with yuzu dressing, caterpillar roll, salmon lover roll, salmon citrus roll and the tropical roll. Everything tasted so fresh! Salad mix had a nice crunch, the cherry tomatoes were nice and plump, the avocado was ripe. All the rolls had a nice presentation and was a good ratio of toppings and rice. The fish was really fresh too. I also appreciate that they give both regular and fresh wasabi along with the ginger. It was not that busy when we were there but service was great. They were very attentive and kind. I definitely have to come back to try the omakase. This might be my new favorite sushi spot!

Had an amazing time at Sushi Goemon. Was pleasantly surprised to know about their Happy Hours. It's one of the better HH offerings. We came early so we were able to sit at the booth with the window view of the outside zen garden. The service was great except I didn't like the vibe from the girl that was doing our drinks. She doesn't seem to be on a good mood that day.

The sushi at Sushi Goeman was 5 stars! The hamachi truffle appetizer was melt-in-your-mouth delicious! The 15 piece sashimi was really good too. It came with 5 different types of fish - salmon, yellowtail, kanpachi, halibut, plus we were upgraded to chu toro instead of blue fin tuna. I loved the chu toro, salmon, and yellowtail. The halibut was okay, not my fav, but not bad. The Romantic Roll had blue fin tuna and asparagus, topped with seared toro and truffle ponzu sauce. This was the best roll on the menu! The Salmon Lover Roll was another winner and came with seared salmon both inside and on top of the roll. The roll also had avocado, cucumber, scallions, and bonito. All of the food tasted excellent! They even had real fresh wasabi (although not a lot) plus the paste wasabi. Service was not bad, but not perfect. Service was a bit slow, unattentive, plus we were never given the miso soup that we ordered. We came during dinner time and luckily, there was no wait for a table. The restaurant looked small from the outside, but the main dining room was all the way at the back of building and it was really dark. What was really obnoxious was that there was another party in the restaurant that was drunk, loud, and rowdy. The staff even turned off the lights once while we were eating. I rated Sushi Goemon 5 stars based on the great sushi I had...not so much for service and ambiance.

Really cute backyard! Great for hanging out with friends or family! We went on a Wednesday night, about 5pm, it was empty. The sushi roles were really good, I like the goyemon roll more than the rainbow row cause it's more flavorful. The rainbow roll is on the lighter side. Edamame was pretty standard with a kick of spice.

Had dinner here with my wife last night. Food and service was excellent. Ordered a variety of dishes and each one was very good. We ate everything, no leftovers. Great selection of sushi and sake as well. Don't overthink it, the food here is good.
